Babylon Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 My prediction is it'll be announced as soon as Hull have sorted out their vacancy and announced it. Reading between the lines (guessing) it looks like they are doing what they can to make it difficult for us, we're their league rivals why would they want us to have an easy transition?
Heskey2011 Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 i miss sven, this np limbo is so fustrating.
wellyfox Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 Don't be ridiculous, it is clearly completely impossible to do any preparations while engrossed in having your agent negotiate a contract on your behalf for days on end. Oh No. This delay is a DISASTER I tell you! DISASTER!!! I doubt NP has done anything but prepair for the palace game since he spoke to us. His new contract will have been sorted then and sat waiting to be signed. The talks between us and hull are really nothing to do with him or his agent. He's leaving they know that and what we pay hull has no bearing on NP. He can't surely be working for hull so is sat at home watching video's of us and palace. I would also expect Sundays sqaud to be picked by the caretakers after the return of the players. With praps NP having a tinker. He may also be working from Documents sent to him about each player. He also knows a big part of the squad. Calm down is not a Disaster.
Babylon Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 Calm down is not a Disaster. Woooosh.... He was being sarcastic.
wellyfox Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 We also know from the summer our owners are not gonna tell the world there business. Most of the transfer news was speculation. (Be nice to know what we really offered for maynard) Our guys have come in spent money and want us in the prem. Yes it is frustrating the way they do business but we should respect them for it. Money is tight the whole world round why should they waste it and be held to ransom.
wellyfox Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 Woooosh.... He was being sarcastic. He maybe but most moaning are not.
look_back_in_amber Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 1. prepare the squad for Sunday so that we could go out and have a good win. 2. and that no club knows that they can 'hold us over a barrel' to get more money than they are rightfully entitled to. Its frustrating, but its essential to get this right. 1. Presumably you're thinking a 'good win' is a 1-0 scoreline, this is, after all, Nigel Pearson we're talking about. 2. 'hold us over a barrel'? rightfully entitled to? So let's see, if we'd sacked Pearson, Shakespeare and Walsh they would have claimed compensation of £1,250.00 based on NP earning £400k per year and Shakespeare and Walsh £175k each per year, they all had 20 months of their contracts to run, calculate it out for yourself. However because they have decided to show no loyalty and walk out on our club because of a 'better offer' - in career path terms we'll see - you're saying that we, as a club, should not ask for the same figure in compensation. Seriously, can you just explain to me how that works?
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 If it wasn't for you clowns making an approach 18 months ago, none of this would've happened anyway, just let the man come back in peace he's done his community service with the less fortunate now!

Seriously, can you just explain to me how that works? 1. Leicester previously under Pearson had great wins involving plenty of goals.. Although Yes, I'd rather win one-nil than lose three nil 2. I would agree with compensation which is right and proper for both Leicester and Hull I have no bad feeling about Hull whatsoever and some of my family originate from Hull and are fans. If I were you guys I would hold out for what you are entitled to. Which is what I said in my original post. My reference to being 'held over a barrel' was regarding Leicester not having to pay more than Hull are entitled to. To do so sends out the wrong message to other clubs. Good luck for the rest of the season. If Pearson joins us and leaves you its our gain and your loss IMO. But its happened to us plenty of times mate... Brian Little joining Villa, McGhee going to Wolves, Martin to Celtic etc.. Fact of life and certainly of football...

That’s the sort of compensation you'd get from being made redundant from Superdrug
Alexikokopops Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 Answer me this, did you think the owners of Portsmouth made themselves look silly taking 3/4 weeks to appoint their manager? Did you think they looked a joke of a club. I certainly didn't and I doubt anyone else even thought about it. So why would anyone think it about us or our owners? People need to chill out and stop acting like spoilt children not getting their own way. Everyone's so melodramatic aren't they. I swear I saw someone say that this delay was going to ruin our entire season.
Jon the Hat Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 Everyone's so melodramatic aren't they. I swear I saw someone say that this delay was going to ruin our entire season. Some people have a real issue with the owners. Seems to me this is a long standing point and nothing to do with who happens to be in charge, but more about the fact that someone is at all.
Babylon Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 Everyone's so melodramatic aren't they. I swear I saw someone say that this delay was going to ruin our entire season. The amount of times I've seen people say it's "disgraceful" is laughable.
Fox92 Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 Nigel Pearson latest on Sky Sports News now. "expected this afternoon" is breaking news.
Jon the Hat Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 The amount of times I've seen people say it's "disgraceful" is laughable. It does bring home to me that a lot of fans have no clue what goes on in business. Which is fine, people work in different fields, but I do forget this sometimes.
Simo86 Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 The amount of times I've seen people say it's "disgraceful" is laughable. People think its only our club that does this! Are they blinkered when other clubs are looking for managers?

Lineker's Left Foot Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 Nigel Pearson latest on Sky Sports News now. "expected this afternoon" is breaking news. Excellent and really looking forward to seeing NP back. I guess that certain players will finally get a 'well deserved rollicking' and I feel that NP will play Danns to his greatest strength.
Happy Fox Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 Finally the wait is over confirmation this afternoon, press conference tomorrow
Benji Posted 15 November 2011 Posted 15 November 2011 Although I agree it's silly to question the owners taking their time and getting the right deal, it does feel a bit disappointing that we've not been able to make the most of a 2 week international break to give Pearson time to set his mark. It really was an ideal time for him, unless he's done a bit on the sly. Oh well, it's not my money.
