So why no announcement of Pearson?

It does bring home to me that a lot of fans have no clue what goes on in business. Which is fine, people work in different fields, but I do forget this sometimes.

I keep reading people saying "why don't they tell us what's going on". What do people want? A daily update on the website saying "nothing to report yet", or "discussions are ongoing". We already know that for goodness sake.

Do they really expect them to make a statement saying "Nasty Hull want 500k more than we believe we should pay. Nigel wants to come and has signed up to receive shit loads of cash. But their owner is a giant cock and it making things as difficult as possible. Once it's all done and dusted we can't wait to thrash them 1-0 at their ground".

No doubt someone obscure will tweet "Sources say it's not likely to be announced until Thursday/Friday" and then we'll hear "OMG Top, sort it out you idiot", "We've had weeks to do this" and "Getting Roy Keane would've been so much easier" on RL and here.

This saga will run and run.

Although I agree it's silly to question the owners taking their time and getting the right deal, it does feel a bit disappointing that we've not been able to make the most of a 2 week international break to give Pearson time to set his mark. It really was an ideal time for him, unless he's done a bit on the sly. Oh well, it's not my money.

Thing is we don't know it's about our owners not wanting to stump up cash. It wouldn't shock me if the hold up is Hull wanting to get their shit together first and they have just been delaying everything.

We'd still have people complaining if Top scanned in the pages to his personsal diary and published it on the offical website every night. Its staggering how some people can't wrap their heads around the fact that things still happen behind the scenes even though we aren't getting the media coverage as if Chelsea were looking to employ a new manager.

The amount of times I've seen people say it's "disgraceful" is laughable.

Especially when no one has any idea what is actually going on. It's just as feasible (as I think you actually mentioned in another post) that it's Hull dragging their feet on purpose so that they have someone in place to take over straight away (and to disadvantage us as much as possible).

I'd like to see what some posters are like at home:

"Sorry dear, I got held up at work so dinner's going to be about 10 minutes later than usual"

"OH MY GOD YOU'RE A DISGRACE! You've absolutely ruined my week. I'm going to bed, you can throw mine in the bin".

Damn it, you've bugged my house. We had this conversation last night!! Well actually it went more like 'Dinners late', 'Ok', 'it's ready', 'ta', 'Right, I'm off to bed', 'Cool, I'll watch the Brazil-Egypt match' ...... 'zzzzzzzzzzz'

Yeah, just read on Sky Sports News: "Sky Sources: Leicester expected to name Nigel Pearson as new manager later today"

Sky Sports sources understand Hull City boss Nigel Pearson is poised to seal his return to Leicester City.

Leicester have targeted a move for Pearson as they seek a replacement for Sven Goran Eriksson following the Swede's sacking last month.

The Foxes' Thai owners were keen to bring in someone with a proven track record in the Championship and they have opted to go for Pearson.

Hull and Leicester have been locked in talks for the past week with the move thought to have been held up because of a dispute over the compensation package for Pearson and his backroom staff.

Pearson is highly regarded at Leicester after a successful two-year spell at the club between 2008 and 2010 when he guided the side to promotion from League One in the 2008/09 campaign before taking them to the Championship play-offs the following season.

The 48-year-old took charge at Hull in the summer of 2010 and steered the Tigers to 11th spot in the Championship in his first season in charge.

Hull are expected to name Nicky Barmby as caretaker manager to replace Pearson once his switch to Leicester is ratified.

Who said Hull were delaying things?

It's nearly 3 weeks since the club told us anything. I don't expect them to give us all the details about interviews/negotiations but surely they could make a general statement saying whether things are progressing or not.

could make a general statement saying whether things are progressing or not.

Why? What's the point when we all know that things are progressing. They aren't sitting around thinking, "**** it I can't be bothered today".

Do people really need a generic statement to put them as ease. "We are striving to find the right man for the job, it's a complex process that we are looking to complete as soon as possible..... Blah blah blah".

To be fair, they said from the start they wouldnt make any statements until an appointment is made

Yep, its been finalised.

"The club is trying it's utmost to get the best man possible for the job, we are determined to reach the Premier League, we just need some patience from the fans".

I agree that it's strange how people require a comforting voice from above at moments like these. As I see it, what will be will be.

That said the club seems to have abandoned PR for three weeks now. They were happy for people to think it could be O'Neill and be let down, now the Pearson issue has rumbled on for ten days. The only worrying aspect of that is that it isn't how most clubs with their fans at heart tend to operate.

Still, at least we haven't got a board that go around changing the name of our stadium or anything daft like that.

None of these things massively bother me, but for the first time I'm beginning to wonder what they may be capable of in the weeks and months to come.

So you're telling me that because the board haven't been giving out load of details they don't care about the fans. What utter bullshit!

I would rather they ignored PR, didn't tell the fans all that was going on and just focused on sorting out hiring a new manager - something a board with the clubs best interests at heart would do.

I still don't think our owners have done much wrong personally. Don't like all this OTT branding but it was always going to happen and it was mainly things that were already branded anyway, so it doesn't change a lot. I feel in this sacking Sven was the right move, this has been frustrating in true Leicester style but I feel we'll get there eventually.

I think some people see the media circus that surrounds top 6 clubs and expect us to have a full page in the paper everyday with reassuring speculation and rumour but very little substance. The club aren't likely to release any sort of statement whilst negotiating is ongoing because it may weaken their hand.
