Horncastle at No.15?

My GF's mum lives there, it's a shithole in the middle of nowhere - I hate it.

I would rather live in Helmand Province than there.

That sort of discredits the whole thing!

Site won't recognise the existence of LE18 - keeps changing it to LE1, therefore these stats are an absolute crock.

Same with me with LE12.

Although the top 20 list compiled does have double digit postcodes so I assume it's just the website that's bollocks.

Always amazes me that we (well most) find it hard to praise any town or city in our country, its quintessentially english, we rarely seem to talk about our country in a positive way, everywheres a shithole even picturesque places, its all a bit baffling.

Clearly if you are going to take into account house prices, what you actually get is the best affordable places to live in the country. Which is not the same thing by a million miles.

Heh.

I don't think anyone will give the tagline "best places to live in the country" any real credence.

I'm simply choosing to take this on face value and boast because it's the village I live in!

Meh, it's all subjective anyway. Statistically that 'Winkleigh' might be the best place to live, I've just checked it on Google Maps and it appears to be located in the arsehole of nowhere... one of the worst places to live, if you ask me! Plus it has a stupid name. :P

And yeah I can't get LE18 up either. But nevermind, I like living here regardless of stats. This is where most of my mates live and I've got City just a short drive up Welford Road :scarf:

Well being a non-driver I am quie happy to be living in LE2. Not a high class area. But its relatively quiet. A street or two away there are flats where music is blaring out mainly in the summer when they open the windows for all to hear the latest Gansta Rap (or is it the same one?) I am close to the City Centre for shops bars etc and I am 5 minute walk from the train station. Mixed race neighbourhood of different social class and majority getting on with their own lives. There is no keeping up with the Jones around my area.

I wouldn't take this survey to seriously. In 13th place is a place called Chelleston in Derby. Its not even one of the best areas in Derby let alone the country. Its a suberb just like any other in most cities. Its very average. In the heart of the community is a Tescos Express, which sums up it up.
