FINALLY! The moment I have been waiting for! My Pentagon Challenge is now 2/5 complete!!

I am going to play the Club World Championship in December, and then move on to Palmeiras, of Brazil, who have already offered me a contract :)

Haha that did my head in. Every year with fail I'd presented with a trasnfer budget of £0 and wage budget of only a few grand more than I was already on. It's a good challenge though, much more enjoyable playing with the smaller teams.

Not bad, I only left because I thought Huddersfield had a better of chance of getting to the prem and staying there, although Fleetwood managed to take 4 points off me when I played them during the season lol. Managed to get promoted though whilst Fleetwood stayed up by the skin of their teeth.

Sound like you're in the same situation to me regarding the computer. If mine wasn't so slow I'd be on the game near enough everyday, but it's too frustrating, especially when it crashes without saving anything!

I enjoy the challenge and it amazes me that I'm getting by with a lot of players on like £800 a week. It just winds me up that really if it wasn't for my rich owners we'd be in admin and I've actually done nothing wrong spending wise.

Huddersfield I had an immense game with on 10.

It's daft, it's not a horrendous laptop but it's pretty basic IMO.

You'll pull it off. African/Asian ones are IMO, the hardest sounding. The European one, whilst I've never won it myself, I think is extremely achievable, Palmeiras you could do in two years, the North American is a funny one really.

The Asian one was pretty easy - I got lucky with my club though. Africa was hard, mainly becuase Sundowns were a team on the decline when I took over with them. Once I actually got into the Champions League (took me 2 1/2 years!) it was easy enough, and then in the Final I got lucky with an incredible first leg performance against Al-Ahly!

Update - An unfortunate 1-0 loss to Chelsea in the Semi Finals on the CWC :( and a penalty shootout loss to Monterrey later, and I am the fourth best team in the World :P

I've got bored of both the games I've done so far now and want to do something else but haven't got a clue what challenge I want or who to start with, Don't think I can be bothered with the pentagon challenge. Anybody any ideas?

I never seem to be able to sustain my form throughout a season. I can be top 2 right through till Christmas or at least well in to the playoffs. All of a sudden I seem to drop points all over the place for no apparent reason. Players are all at least 95% fit at the start of games so its not that they are unfit.

Any suggestions? Your help would be great!

Thanks in advance.

Bit late but I've just picked this up for £8.

Started as Leicester (obviously)

Any Tips? Players, tactics, anything.

Cheers

I started with Leicester (obviously), and I'm now in 2021; still at Leicester. When I was promoted from the Championship, my striker partneship was Ebanks-Blake and Billy Sharp and they scored loads of goals; Sharp got 34 himself. So, if you need a goalscorer, Billy Sharp is a good choice. Might not score loads when/if you're promoted, but will certainly score 20+ in the Championship.

Just got back into this actually, just as my new season started. First game was Community Shield final against Manchester City. Beat 'em 2-1. So, won that. Just passed January, and still sitting 3rd in the Premier League. Need a new goalkeeper though, Alex McCarthy, a loyal servent, needs replacing now.

My game with my mate has been mint. He is Celtic and I'm Rangers, we started in League One. He went out of all the cups early on, whilst i made the Semis of League Cup, Quarters of Uefa (in it from SPL last season) and won the JPT. In total i played 81 matches in my league one season, he played about 60. He won the league by a mile, i came second, at most times of the season i had 7 games in hand on him, but couldnt really get near him due to the tiredness of my team, playing Sat, Tues, Thurs, Sat every week.

When in the Championship we were going to be playing less games with no JPT or European football. I was in the top two all season the went on a run where i won 16 straight games and won the league easily. He for whatever reason decided that his 4-4-2 formation wasnt working after just ten games, and messed around with playing 4-4-1-1 to accomodate his new signing Taarabt, before choosing my formation of 4-1-2-2-1 . He ended up making the PO's, in 5th place after going on a right run at the end of the season. he played QPR in the final, who he ahd done the double over and one of the few teams who had beaten me. He went three one up, onyl for QPR to get a equaliser in 93 mins and then win 4-3 in ET.

So despite being made favourites to win the league with me supposedly finishing second, he has failed and will play Championship football next season. What is enjoyable about playing as the Old Firm clubs in lower leagues is that you dont ge the revenue in after European football goes to afford wages thats why it was crucial we went up. He has had to get rid of his start players already, with me i started to build in League one, selling Steven Davis, Bedoya, McGregor et al and bringing in younger players.

Looking forward to the next season now, i have been given 30m to spend in the Premier League! Think i can get Europa whilst for my mate, he ahs to win the league as he is under a bit of pressure from his board. Serves him right really, he bought a player in ;eague one for 8m and sold him the next window for 5m, stupidity really!

Came 7th in the Prem getting Europa league, Celtic got second place in the championship and secured promotion.

This season in the Prem i am sitting 4th and he is 8th i think. I'm trying to sign young players generally and improve year on year.

Really has been a good challenge and enjoyable, hoping to make CL as the revenue is much needed! Think he will probably get Europa too, I am still in the knock out stages of that and hoping to get far it that too.

Got enough loan players? Sven :P

Haha! A lot of them are young players, have even more from foreign teams in the reserves.

I find loaning players who are young and for free, gives you the best way yo have a look at them and see if they are good enough, and a lot of the time it is seemingly cheaper to buy them when they are already at your club. Cheaper mostly i mean.

Oh and also I have found a good corner tactic if people are after one, near post works really well. Kyle Bartley has scored 60 goals for me in 4 seasons from centre back, with nearly all fo them obviously being from corners.

Started one up with Dnipro in the Ukrainian League, in my third season, gone 66 unbeaten in the league since a last minute loss to Shakhtar Donestk. Europa Semi and a CL quarter as well as two Ukrainian Premier Leagues and two Ukrainian Cups has got me a good continental rep. Apparently it's a decent league but it's piss. Gonna leave soon when I find a job that'll give me dollar.

I'm so bad at this with any club with some sort of amibition to get promoted straight away lol I got sacked at Leicester. However I managed this result with this filth tactic lol Oh and Bamba broke Tunchev's leg in training - out for 8 months

Oh my god I laughed so hard at this! :worship:

It's not that weird to be honest, the AMC will naturally drift in to space when attacking which means pushing in to the AMR channel. The DMC will do likewise defensively, which means helping to double up with the RB on the winger.

I wouldn't play a whole season like that but it's not as weird as some of the retarded suggestions I've seen on here.

Me and a mate are going to start this if you don't mind, think its a great idea and looking forward to it. We want to do it as a network game but not a clue how to do it - does anybody know how to do it? Can you have 2 going at the same time or not as I'd like another one going with some others?

Have fun with it, though mine isnt a network game we are both playing it on my computer.

Its dead easy to do it on the editor just relegate a few teams down the leagues and start with Celtic and Rangers in League 1 or whatever. We relegated the teams which got relegated anyway, Macclesfield etc, so all the leagues obviously had correct teams in them.

We used the default database though, as obviously Rangers are in meltdown on the new update, no money and you start on a £90 per week contract! So we started on default from when the game came out and i think we cleared the debt of each team or made it so they were the same.

Remember in the first season in league one or whatever, both teams have european football so you will have plenty of finance in the first season, Rangers more so being in the CL. Though its not hard to change participating teams in Europe so can be done if needs be.

Lastly the biggest disappointment, or annoyance i should say is that apart from each other we dont have any rival games. Aberdeen is the other rival of Rangers and Celtic dont have any more. Might be a good idea to make it so Newcasgtle and sunderland are rivals too as they are nearest English teams, albeit not a big rivalry i know, but might have been in reality.
