ivarti Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Sharp will most certainly not join Leicester. Doncaster will look at a chance to sell him either to a league abroad or to a team in the Premier League to avoid him playing against them. Nicky Maynard is also on the way to a Premier League club. Fulham looks the most likely for both of them

Jimmy Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Yeah looks like it the fixed £3 million release clause appears to be allowing teams to offer more generous packages too. I heard the other day Hernandez at Man Utd was on around £20000 a week before his new deal which is crazy they signed Hernandez as a project for the future no one expected him to perform the way he has
MikeyT Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 WorldFootballFB WorldFootballBanter RUMOUR: Billy Sharp's representatives have told Hull City officials he is keen on a move to the KC Stadium.
Jace Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 they signed Hernandez as a project for the future no one expected him to perform the way he has So they bought him expecting him not to score goals? £20000 a week for Hernandez was not a fluke it was a fantastic bit of business by Sir Alex
Bausor Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 If we have bid 3m then i would expect sharp to at least talk to us, as he will do i suspect to other clubs who have bid 3m
Jimmy Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 So they bought him expecting him not to score goals? £20000 a week for Hernandez was not a fluke it was a fantastic bit of business by Sir Alex are you an idiot? they expected him to be 3rd or 4th choice behind Rooney and Berbatov, he made himself undroppable, which was unexpected as most strikers take a while to adjust to the prem yet he hit the ground running, they thought he would be good, but not this good, at least not this early in his career

Hernandez was always planned to be a first team player
Adster Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 To be fair none of you can really tell whether he was bought to Man Utd to go straight into the first team or to be a player for the future. Whatever it was it was a great move by SAF.

Danny the Fox 95 Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Who cares about Man Utd and that little mexican cheat?
The Doctor Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 You know the world has gone mad when teams are offering £400000 a week out of the top division for Billy Sharps services. Top if you are reading this do a runner with your money whilst you can this club is going to rinse you for everything! woah, woah, woah. Who the fvck is offering 400k a WEEK for anyone? Even fvcking Yaya Toure's on about half that.
Thracian Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 I'm seriously concerned about our so-called main targets. Our poor form through December and virtual end to any chance of us finishing in the top two means we're just not that attractive anymore - especially in the short term. Logic suggests the leading teams will be equally keen to improve their squads - and very attractive to ambitious players. What most concerns me now is whether we'll be able to hang onto our best performers for another go next season or whether we'll have to rebuild again completely...with all the attendant risks we've alredy experienced. Leicester have become synonymous with short-termism. Endless, often indifferent, managers. "All change" being shouted as if we were a railway terminus and panic setting in the minute there's any signs of us failing to realise fairly unrealistic ambitions. Yes. I wanted Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and no I didn't relish more of the probably over-rated but definitely unadventurous Pearson. But now we've got him let's for the club's sake give him a chance and some encouragement. I doubt it will be orgasmic football and the KPS stadium might be better named Sleepy Hollow if recent performances mirror the level of entertainment we're likely to get but Pearson's the victim of a professional snooker right now. He says he wants to be more expansive but doesn't easily have the opportunity to do it with Vassell being injured, with our shortage of penetrative wingers, with our laboriously malfunctioning midfield and with half of our strike force being more pop-gun than machine gun. Realistic alternatives don't exist. January might bring enough decent signings to effect improvement but my hope is that we build with next season in mind and that our owners show the patience necessary to see their project through to fruition - and that might be as long as next season or even the one after. Hopefully, Pearson might even improve as a manager during that time and therefore be ready to take us further. But the odds are stacking ever higher against any hopes of promotion this season.

BENTHEBLUE Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Billy sharp will NOT sign for lcfc. That is simple
okie fox Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 How am I being an idiot? Hernandez was always planned to be a first team player SAF wisely bought him just before the world cup, before other clubs found out about him.

This pretty much sums up what I've been thinking. I'm not writting this season off, but lets be honest it's a long shot now. If we canget in the right players at the right price to improve our squad for the long term then great, if not then I'd rather we didn't sign anyone in Jan and just wait for the summer.

Agree, think the worst thing we could do is sign 5 or 6 loans & a load of Perms, when the likelihood is we won't be promoted thanks to the situation Going hell for leather in Jan then having to rebuild again in the summer will be disastrous, I'd much sooner come out of Jan with 2 or 3 key signings, no loans unless we're going to sign them in the summer & be much better positioned next summer to add just a couple more faces than have to sign 12 players all over again. Although of course I'd take wholesale changes if we go up, but I just think it's unlikely the more chopping & changing there is

Having a few quid don't make us the be all and end all of football like some think. Some on here think we can click our fingers and these players will rush to sign. Did the summer not teach anyone anything They don't all just sign for money. Like the endless list's people keep putting on here for players to clear out. Most are the same players people would have listed in the summer. Why are they still here? cos they ain't good enough or on to much money or both. And they will still be here untill there contracts run out unless we pay em up. It's fine paying the messi's Beckham's and Rooney's top dollar they are great players. Paying some of the shite we have top dollar is the road to ruin. our money is not being wasted on transfers. But the drain in weekly wages is going to kill us.
MikeyT Posted 30 December 2011 Posted 30 December 2011 How on Earth did the poor man live on that. Disgraceful. Barely anything.
Happy Fox Posted 30 December 2011 Posted 30 December 2011 Turns out his release clause is in fact £1.85m http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11734/7401850/Sharp-has-1.85m-release-clause Sky Sports sources understand Doncaster Rovers striker Billy Sharp has a £1.85million release clause in his contract which becomes effective on 1st January.
