Paul Konchesky

I seem to be reading many forums to buy a new left-back to replace Konchesky and I think and I hope the majority of you will agree that this is ludicrous! I think he has been performing considerably well recently, even when the team aren't. I think he is the unsung hero of LCFC and some fans are not giving him the right recanition! I don't know why we are worrying about a position we are strong in where there are other positions that we don't even have one main player (winger.) I think as fans we need to get behind the club, players, owner and NP to get us up the league because otherwise we are going to be the same place as now at the end of the season. Who do we need to bring in?

He's one player we shouldn't be replacing.

On the whole he's done his job well, and the job of the left winger at times.

Although Konch doesn't have the mobility he used to have he certainly is one of the players that can have his head held high this season (there aren't many) and has the right character unlike many within the squad. He won't let yet you down.

Probably the most consistent player all season. Fantastic signing.

Feel sorry for him because he has to make up for the crap we have playing on the left wing. Practically playing two positions.

Where have you heard these silly talks?

Hasn't put a foot wrong all season, outstanding and consistent.

Spot on.

Been our best player since Pearson came back and probably our best outfield player all season. Almost all of our good attacking work recently has seemed to come through him.

I disagree about his crossing being poor, I think he is generally a very good crosser of the ball, we just have no one up front who is that good in the air. I also think his passing is very underrated and from what I've seen he's probably been our best passer of the ball this season.

I was well chuffed when I learned that Paul Konchesky had signed for the Foxes. I'd always admired him when he played for Liverpool. If some of the others in the team would be prepared to put in the same effort and show the same commitment as he does, then perhaps our prospects for this season might have been more promising.

I felt sorry for him yesterday when he visibly showed his frustration with the poor support he was getting from the others but there again, that was another example to support my belief that at the moment, Leicester City are a team of individuals when the only thing that the fans want is a team!

Doing OK, nothing more.

Making some poor decisions at the back recently, and has never ever offered anything going forward.

In the modern game the RB & LB are instrumental in attacking play, but Konch is slow as mud & can't get forward with enough pace to make a difference... and his distribution is right up there with Mills, with aimless floated balls which mean we're under pressure through loss of possession.

Thanks to Konch being OK & everyone else being terrible he avoids negative attention, but don't let that fool you into thinking he's good, he's not... he's just least shit.

If we're to kick on next season & make a go of automatic or even end up in the Prem we'll see how much of a liability he is in attacking play.

Would like to see us sign someone with the style Cunningham who could challenge Konch for his 1st team spot, our attacks from the back will be much more threatening.

As it stands though, other players need replacing 1st

I'm surprised about the criticism of his pace. One thing I've thought watching him is how deceptively quick he is, he's a lot quicker than I always thought he was and I'm also surprised about people criticising his attacking play and defending his defensive play, to me, he is better attacking-wise than defensive-wise and so much of our attacking play comes through him linking up on the left wing. Oh well, seems like people watch different players to me at times.

He's very solid at defending but cant cross the ball for toffee and he's so left footed it's unreal but not one we need to replace!

Pretty sure his peach of a goal against Hull was with his right?? So he obviously can use it if needs be. He can probably shoot better with his weak foot than Howard can with his right!

Are you taking the p*ss?

OK?

He, as has been said, has been outstanding. Nothing short of it. Much much better than some of the other dross we've had for left backs. PVA and Cunningham (yes Cunningham) to name two. Yes he got caught out at West Ham, but in all other games I've been to he's been the one of very few positive things about our club at the mo. Offering nothing going forward, but has scored twice already this season, and always gets up to put crosses in- some admittedly aren't that good, but if he was a perfect player would he be playing for leicester?

I agree, he had a poor game yesterday, his errors had nothing to do with a lack of support ahead of him, they were just basic errors. In saying all that, I think more urgent focus needs to be placed on our poor midfield.

One of Sven's better signings absolutely solid, we need a young LB as a back up seeing as Berner and Ball will be off this January.

We also need a pacey young LW who can cross the ball, but keep Dyer as back up.

Konchesky isn't that good with his crosses, so if he plays behind a good winger, he won't need to go forward as much so that he can concentrate most on defending.

Not taking the piss, he's extremely limited

Like I said he looks good because of the rest of the crap we've been served with, not because he is actually good, my Gran could look good in this mis-match of unbalanced & largely lazy players who are too used to there being no consequences

Konch had a horror show for 1st half yesterday and for first 15mins of 2nd, similar mistakes last week too.

He constantly costs us possession, actually watch him & you'll see... Rarely does anything he does, either short or long (in fact anything he does long is just an aimless hoof, which always leads to opposition attack), end up with another blue shirt in the opposing half... He can just about manage a 5yrd pass inside to whoever makes themselves available in CM

Konch has been one of our better players this season, but that statement in itself is hardly saying much

Also like I said, there are many many more players to sort out before him.

He had some unwarranted criticism at the start of the season but I don't think many seriously believe that now. While he's fit he's 1 of the first names on the team sheet.

Disagree with most again. Yes he does have a bit of an aimless hoof, no-one can deny that. You watch how well he gets himself out of tight spots -facing his own goal line with a couple of the opposition surrounding him- (not tight spots he got himself into before you say that!) Don't think he had a bad game at all yesterday, (and I for once was sober)

The only players better than him yesterday were Schlupp and Abe.

Yes it was but he still so left footed its unreal it was only one goal!

Don't forget about the goal he scored against Burnley, with his left foot!
