hackneyfox Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Played for Everton and us, can't play for 3 teams in one season. http://fansonline.net/leicestercity/mb/view.php?id=463424
Petchy Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 I'm sure this has been brought up before, and someone proved that he could infact play for a third team.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Beckford is good. We just have fickle fans.
Libertine Dream Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Emergency loan's don't count, so he can go out on loan for 3 months. He'll go nowhere, all 3 will be accommodated, I wouldn't be surprised if Beckford gets some form and we play a real 4-3-3 with 3 out and out strikers at times.
cc_star Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 He can, not sure on the reason but sure he can. Won't be any movement until we have a quality replacement though, and Schlupp's injury might throw a spanner in the works
Schlupp Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 I want to keep him tbh,All he needs is some gentle encouragement,You don't become a bad player over night as the saying goes.
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Beckford is good. We just have fickle fans. You're in denial..... I continue to be amazed at the level of support for a player with such a goals record. And the patience is impressive... Has it come to this though? That our fans have become so disillusioned or so 'easily pleased' that a 25 k a week striker with three goals in what? 17/18 appearances constitutes 'a good goal scorer'! Christ....
dannythefox Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Pretty sure he can go on loan though... Correct!
StanSP Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Beckford is good. We just have fickle fans. Agreed. He's getting way more stick than is actually warranted in my opinion. I don't believe he's played that badly recently. I'd rather have Beckford, Nugent, Sharp and Schlupp as striking selections as opposed to Howard, Waghorn, Nugent, Schlupp. Howard is past is - he can bugger off back to Luton or Hartlepool or wherever he wants; and Beckford is better than Waghorn in my humble opinion.
Kitchandro Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Beckford is crap. Or he has been for us anyway. But with Schlupp and Vassell out for the season we can't afford to let him go. Stcik him on the bench behind Nugent and Sharp and lets hope he improves dramatically.
Happy Fox Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 We will be flying up that league if the midfield is sorted that is all their is to it really.
DJMadness29 Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 I want to keep him tbh,All he needs is some gentle encouragement,You don't become a bad player over night as the saying goes. In all fairness, he didn't exactly set Everton on fire with his goals did he? He did ok at league 1 level and scored 1 goal against man u and his value rocketed (almost the same as Andy Carroll). There are a few Everton fans at my work and they were happy we'd took him off there hands. Wish he would do well for us but really seems to be struggling.
NewburyFox Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 His lack of goals is the least of his problems. It's the fact that his overall game is shocking and his effort is very poor. I'd be happy for him to go.
Bugg Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Kind of thought Forest's defence marked Beckford excellently today. Closed him down really quickly and made him play to his weaknesses, hindering his performance.
Matt Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 It's not just his lack of goals, don't get me wrong this is most people's problem with him, it is my problem with him, however it's not just that, it's his attitude, it's his lazyness, it's his lacklustre performance's and lack of effort, he doesn't run after balls, he doesn't jump for headers, he's just very frustrating. People claimed Yakubu was lazy, atleast he scored. All that added to the fact he comes out with the most ridiculous, 'build yourself up', put pressure on yourself the day you sign by saying 'Only weak people feel pressure' then he doesn't perform well, he only has himself to blame really.
Salieri Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Hope he stays for two reasons. Firstly, I am convinced, given the right level of service, he will score goals for us and secondly, we need him given that Howard is past it, Schlupp is unproven and injured, Waggy is a bit of an unknown quantity. Which leaves us with Nuge and (hopefully) Sharp. (oh and Vassell who is injured and can't hit a barn door anyway).
Corky Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Even if Sharp comes in, we still lack depth in our striking department, especially with two out injured now. He should stay.
cc_star Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 We will be flying up that league if the midfield is sorted that is all their is to it really. We'd be flying up the league if the forwards got some shots actually on target, midfield has no bearing in their continued inaccuracy. Also if the midfield weren't working over-time covering for a forward who doesn't close opposing players down they might have more in their locker for an extra pass or whatever. As it stands a lot of the team isn't consistently good enough, defence is often fragile & make schoolboy marking-up errors, lack of combatitive midfielder means that those who try & make the play get bogged down in endless running & tackling back, forwards quite simply under-perform, some more than others.
Kitchandro Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 I'm confused as to what people mean by 'service'. He's had some really good chances and missed them. Today, he had one brilliant chance, several half chances and a few times where he should have been clean through the middle but a bad first touch ruined it for him. If people think better service is putting it on a silver platter for him in the six yard box we can get any striker to put those away. Fryatt could do that. Waghorn could do that FFS. We paid £4m for him to score the chances he had today. What more does he want? How many more chances does he need?

I would still like us like us to try and bring in Simon Cox, even if it`s just on loan.

There is no instant success in football, which many seem not to be able to understand. And as regards to his wages, that doesn't dictate that he should perform above the rest of the team. When the rest of the team, for the most part, are playing shit.

As I said earlier, it's a sad time for LCFC if the bulk of the fans are happy with Jermaine Fookin Beckford as our top striker. In fact, make no bones about it, Fryatts a better finisher. Still, I better stop or I'll be accused of player bashing or some such nonsense... Hold on a sec..... 'Fookin Wellens' Is that back to normal? lol

He's a four million pound striker on 25k a week Is his 'settling in period' this season and we'll hopefully see the best of him next season? Fooks sake! Who said anything about Steve Howard anyway? Are you hallucinating?
hackneyfox Posted 7 January 2012 Author Posted 7 January 2012 And I continue to be amazed at the support for Howard. He's shit. And to the point that people have been wanting to get rid of Beckford and keep Howard I couldn't agree more, sent off at Palace, nearly cost us the game, yet people still sang for him. Fooking useless, sooner gone the better, and embarrassing when people chant his name, plain laziness on their part rather than supportin players who atually do something, at least Beckford kept 2 of their defenders out the game.
