Guesty Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Hope it's not true. He seems to be the only midfielder we have that can read the game. If you watch him when hes not on the ball he always looks around and covers full backs or plugs holes. I doubt either of Barnsleys goals would have happened if he was on the pitch.
Thracian Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 It's hard to make a logical case for Abe. He can pass, move and support if given licence but rarely makes anything happen and that, inevitably. puts him back in the pecking order even though he sometimes makes the team seems better balanced than when Wellens is playing.
artursteppe Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Hope it's not true. He seems to be the only midfielder we have that can read the game. If you watch him when hes not on the ball he always looks around and covers full backs or plugs holes. I doubt either of Barnsleys goals would have happened if he was on the pitch. You have vision and an understanding of what might constitute the elements required by a player to be effective. Yuki Abe has a greater capacity to be able to read a game than any Leicester player since Neil Lennon - absolutely no doubt ( and before any numpty thinks I just said he is better than Neil Lennon - I didn't! ). He never stops, that is probably why he is said to be 'tired' at the moment. When the opposition have the ball, he is always moving, as you say marking players or covering the gaps. There is no player like him at our club. Some condemn him because he isn't strong in the tackle, none of our midfield are, but at least he breaks up play with interceptions by being able to read the game. Wellens, King and Gallagher couldn't read a MacDonalds menu. You are right about yesterday's game as well - at times we were playing 2-7-1, yuki would have covered Peltier and may have been able to close down there moves for both their goals. Note this, you we will never see King, Wellens, Gallagher or Danns do that, never. I feel sorry for Yuki, his biggest problem is that too many people who watch him just haven't got a clue - some of them STILL think Wellens and King are good players!
FallenAngel Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Ill be sad to see him go, I've always liked wellens but it's time for him to go, Abe is much better in my eyes

Sounds like our other central midfielders. We're in desperate need of a player similar to Mark Davies; someone willing to get the ball and drive forward with it and make a telling pass at the end.
whoareyaaa Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Abe does seem to move the ball well and him in for wellens would do a whole lot of good. Abe is a pretty decent player and someone we could stick in the defensive mid role on a regular basis the teams is a lot more balanced when he is playing.
Bettsj2 Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 We generally do better with him in the side. People hark on about the unseen work that Andy King does, but with this guy it's actually the case. If he were in the team yesterday instead of Wellens then we would not have lost the game. We may not have won due to our dogshit attack, but he tends to sweep up the area that Vaz Te exposed when Peltier goes forward so I cant see that they would have got away with it twice. He's one of the few midfielders i've seen down here over the years that is rarely wasteful in possession. Granted, he's not particularly creative but defensively he's worth his weight in gold. If we're looking to cash in on a midfielder it should be King. Whilst he still has a shred of reputation he should be sold. I dont think i've ever seen a player decline at such a rate.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Why all these sad faces n shit? I swear half the people on here love him cos hes Japanese and a novelty rather than being upset because he's good. He's had two good games, boxing day and NYE
bluebatt Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 if he does go gutted only one to show a bit of passion good luck yuki
Finnegan Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Why all these sad faces n shit? The Year Of The Fox Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Because he's our best, and only real, defensive midfielder? Certainly the best when the others play like they did yesterday. Being the best in our midfield doesn't really say a lot
Bert Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Because he's our best, and only real, defensive midfielder? He's not our best midfielder.
Finnegan Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 He's not our best midfielder. ... I didn't say he was.
Soar Fox Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 He's not our best midfielder. Who's is then Neil "give me a retweet" Danns
Bettsy82 Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Who's is then Neil "give me a retweet" Danns Ha ha ! These twitter rats are the whole problem more interested in telling us when there going to nandos next than focusing on playing to the best of there ability. Maybe chubby danns should lay off the nandos anyway !

Abe's game compliments King's game much more than Wellens because he passes the ball short and never stops moving. He gets muscled off the ball a bit but Wellens, for all his huff and puff, leaves so much space through being slow it's hard to see where his strengths lie anymore. Danns got caught in possession a bit against Barnsley but generally I think he, King and Abe are our best balance midfield because there's passing, movement and at least the potential for goals. Played in a 3-5-2 they're not perfect but I see no desperate problem except who to play wide right, our Achilles heel since Vassell got hurt.
flowwolf Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Time to move on. In my opinion Abe was nothing special. He huffed and puffed but never blew any houses down , just an average player at a below average club.
Happy Fox Posted 21 January 2012 Posted 21 January 2012 When is he back? After he has eaten a f**king Dog or two
Albert Posted 21 January 2012 Posted 21 January 2012 When is he back? He won't be coming back unfortunately.....contract settlement agreed
Leicester_Loyal Posted 21 January 2012 Posted 21 January 2012 Who's gonna eat the evil police dogs now?
Scow Posted 21 January 2012 Posted 21 January 2012 I love the Abe dog jokes; they're so witty and relevant to his culture.
