Abe going? going gone? - see main forum

If he has gone its a BIG wage off the clubs bill which I'm sure has something to do with it. Pearson has said he wants a squad ethic and this + 442 means no room for loads of central midfielders. If we can buy at least two wingers and a cb prior to end of jan, we will come out of jan in good shape to settle down for next season. Yuki wouldn't get us in the playoffs this season, a smaller, younger, tougher squad might just do next year.

Shame if true, would provide excellent back up/competition to dwater. Although if he's on a wedge then I guess its best he goes plus being an international I'm sure he wants regular games. Good luck to him always gave his all

Because I have a different view to you? ha. You know you haven't changed a bit since you were on 606. Your arrogance is astounding.

BTW your blog is shit.

That was a joke, a lack of smiley has made that more aggressive than it should have read.

But glad to know Kitch who the one star man was/is. I don't mind a different opinion at all, but reading back some of your posts and calling me arrogant is as rich as packet of butter biscuits!

Meant well but was overrated by a lot of our fans.

Good luck to him back in Japan.

He was quality great positional sense, fittest player in the team, all round quality player. He's played a lot of international football and in a world cup semi final just like Fernandes we've let a top player slip through are fingers whilst wellens and Gallagher are still here but they are NPs little bitches after all. Good luck Yuki.

Same old story of when a player doesn't play or leaves they become better than when they were actually playing.

We still have 5 cm's at the club, I think someone else perhaps needs to go before we bring another one in. Otherwise the unbalance is still there, unless King and Johnson are never going to get fit this season of course.

Liked yuki. Steady player. But seemed to struggle with the pace of the game at times.

If he is home sick and wanted to leave, he might as well leave. Would be on a big wage and I guess we'd get a fee for him.

Honest hardworking player, good luck to him.

Abe was ok, and that sums him up. Another player that the fans loved just because he put effort in. He was just ok. Anyway, has no one considered that he might have wanted to go home to Japan? and we have not let a International 'slip through our fingers'. The fact that Prem teams were supposed to be interested suggest he actually wanted to go home.

thought Yuki was a very good player, when he did the holding role in midfield he certainly look class, passing and reading of the game was top notch.

I can totally understand him wanting to leave if he's homesick & his family are still back in Japan.

He'll be missed...I wish him good luck and thanks for giving his all for Leicester in his time here.

Thanks Yuki :)

It proves that he featured in a higher percentage of winning line ups than any other Leicester midfielder, which to me would prove that we played better when he played.

Correlation does not imply causation. One of the first things you learn when doing any kind of course on statistics.

I like Abe and don't want him to leave. What I don't like people using stats to try and prove things when they don't actually prove anything.

BBC

Leicester City's Japanese midfielder Yuki Abe has returned to his homeland, BBC Radio Leicester understands.

The 30-year-old made 59 appearances for the Foxes during a near 18-month spell.

But his chances of earning a regular place in Nigel Pearson's side faded following the signing of Manchester United's Danny Drinkwater on Friday.

It is not clear if Abe's former club Urawa Reds have paid to re-sign the Japan international or if his contract has been cancelled by mutual consent.

I don't think it's fair to suggest that Abe was over rated although I can see why it seems that way. Arguably more gifted than a lot of the players we have here; certainly has a better understanding of the game, but unfortunately not suited to this league, hence the inconsistency of his effectiveness.

If we've not got any cash out of this then we're stupid! We paid a fair amount to get him here and he's been superb at times, certainly more reliable than Wellens on the whole.

Pearson seems obsessed with cutting the size of the squad and then moans he can't fill the subs bench. We need 3 new players minimum now.

True. I am pretty surprised by that stat I must admit. I just don't think he'll be as big a loss as many think. I'd take Drinkwater over him.

Based on what? On one decent performance against our slow pondering midfield last week against Barnsley, which of course didn`t include Abe, due to him being dropped for Pearsons bum chum Wellens

Drinkwater may turn out to be a fantastic signing, but lets not go over the top about him, before we see him over a period of time.

If you see what the Watford and Cardiff fans have said about him, he wasn`t that impressive with them, but he seems to have done ok at Barnsley.

I will give him a chance, and make my judgement over time, the way he should be judged..

As for Abe, to be fair, he was played out of his natural position, on many occasions by sven, including at full back, and wide midfield, and i don`t think we seen the best of him, but he certainly never let us down at all, unlike some of the other prima donnas that have been strutting round the park this season!

He wasn`t given much of a chance with Pearson, until lately, when at last he was playing the holding midfield role, that he`s more comfortable with, and he was our best midfielder, in my opinion.

Problem was, Pearson wanted to get his "Richie", back into the team as soon as he could, and so Abe was undeservedly made the fall guy.

Is it any wonder he might want to go back to Japan, where his talents are appreciated.

Anyway, good luck to him, but now we move on.

Given that King is likely to be out for most, if not all of the rest of this season, and the fact that Pearson is very unlikely to play Johnson anytime soon, if at all, it leaves us only with Wellens, Danns and Drinkwater, as our central midfielders, so either we need to bring someone else in, or we need to pray that none of the three get injured, suspended or have a loss of form.

Loss of form, and Wellens, oops that could be a problem, considering his season long loss of form up to now!

Being a season ticket holder I've seen enough of him to be confident in saying he tackled well and worked hard, but his passing was poor.

I would imagine this signing was encouraged by the new owners to get some Asian interest in the team, but he never made the grade.

He turned out to be a bit part player that did a decent enough job at times without pulling up ant trees,

I agree with previous comments that had he been John Smith signed from Rochdale he would have been written off long ago.

To be fair. Hes now 30. It may be a good time for him to go as he won't be able to run around the park forever within a couple of years. I'd rather we built for long term personally.

What has age got to do with it you could say the same for Wellens

I'd be amazed if a premier league side actually was interested, if so it could only be to sell shirts. He was at his level with us.
