Kitchandro Posted 21 January 2012 Posted 21 January 2012 I'll never understand the love for this guy. Is it because he's the only Japanese player we've had (as far as I know)? Is it a novelty thing? He's had a handful of good games but has been very inconsistent. He's looked lost on many occassion and is lightweight. His reading of the game is overrated - he rarely picks a meaningful pass and often hides, and his positional sense is often overshadowed by his lack of strength, a big minus in this league. He can't dribble or shoot either. He's an average bench player for a play-off chasing team. He's no better than any of our other poor/underperforming midfielders.

But I can think of as many games where he's been terrible as ones where he has been decent. I can also think of many games where he's strolled around not wanting to take responsibility in possession or commit to a challenge. Nobody hates him, he gets an easy ride on here compared to the likes of Wellens/Gallagher/Beckford/Mills who are verbally crucified on a weekly basis by a significant amount of people, sometimes irrelevant of whether they've played well or not.

Grow up - it's not funny but perhaps you're easily amused... At least Abe has worked hard for the team and gives his best in every game. If only our other more talented midfielders had applied themselves in the same way earlier in the season.

They deffo don't look alike. Either that or he's serious, and it makes me wonder whether I can take anything he says football related seriously anymore on this forum.
