Dan Posted 21 January 2012 Posted 21 January 2012 Sad News I will still wear my Yuki Abe Leicester shirt with pride. Cheap skate.
escos Posted 21 January 2012 Posted 21 January 2012 NP wouldn't be stupid enough to let Abe go without a replacement I hope I would imagine Drinkwater is replacing Abe, and we may get a loan player in to cover King.
Dan Posted 21 January 2012 Posted 21 January 2012 In seriousness, I'm not totally against this move. I do like Abe, I like his attitude but he looks out of place, he's not consistent enough for a holding midfielder, not strong enough, I totally agree with whoever said that he gets it easy from our fans, I'm not saying we should slate him but how much better than the others has he really been? He's a good player in the wrong country IMO, a move that suits both if it's happened. I wish him the best of luck.

His win ratio was higher than any other #lcfc midfielder in 2011. (Courtesy of Foxblogger)
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 21 January 2012 Posted 21 January 2012 I believe in building teams, I don't collect players. I'll be doing what I can to build a team here. "I know exactly what is wrong with this football club and I'll be addressing that. It is a big job and I'll get it right." Trust in the manager !

Babylon Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 If he was English and called Fred Smith people wouldn't give two hoots about him leaving. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, mostly average. We have enough if those at the club.

(Courtesy of Foxblogger) Good Copy & paste job. Daft comment. How does featuring 26 games and 12 wins relate at all to him being consistent.
Finnegan Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 If he was English and called Fred Smith people wouldn't give two hoots about him leaving. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, mostly average. We have enough if those at the club. Funny really because if I think if he was English and called Fred Smith most of the people on here who are so quick to criticise him would love him for his effort and work rate. People have been cynical about him since we signed him because he comes from the same continent as our wealthy owners and people saw some money-related undercurrent to his purchase (which, to be fair, may have been accurate.) Don't think I've ever seen a Foxestalker claim Yuki is a match-winner or a creative super force, just a pretty consistent defensive midfielder and a good reader of the game. It's true, isn't it? I'd like to know who people think is better as an anchor in our midfield than Yuki? Whether that means we need to sign a better holding midfielder or not I don't know but given we don't seem to be doing so I think that can be considered a pretty good reason to be sad to see him go.
fleckneymike Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Good Copy & paste job. Daft comment. How does featuring 26 games and 12 wins relate at all to him being consistent. Well it relates to him being more consistent than any other midfielder because he featured in a greater percentage of winning games.
Libertine Dream Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Gutted if he has gone, thats another signing we need, even if its just a loan. 2 wingers 1 striker 1 midfielder Possibly a centre half Looks unlikely we'll get them all though
J.Lisemore Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Seemed to always give 100%, just didn't really adapt to our game. best of luck to him.
fleckneymike Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 An interesting statistic but it doesn't prove anything. It proves that he featured in a higher percentage of winning line ups than any other Leicester midfielder, which to me would prove that we played better when he played.
Dan Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Well it relates to him being more consistent than any other midfielder because he featured in a greater percentage of winning games. Well, it doesn't, because you could win one lose one of them, throughout. That doesn't show any consistency at all. He's an inconsistent player for me, not a bad one, but not great either. Disappointing.
Libertine Dream Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 It proves that he featured in a higher percentage of winning line ups than any other Leicester midfielder, which to me would prove that we played better when he played. That is becuase he sat in front of the back four and allowed the more creative and supposedly better players work their magic with the knowledge that Abe would get the ball back or at least track players to slow attacks down. Instead this season Wellens or King have had to do this, which isn't their game and they don't have the work rate nor patience to do so. In the case of King he has done this and not been able to find space to make his runs. I's be interested to know how many goals King has scored with Abe on the pitch.

You're quite right we could, and even if we did we would still have won more games and more points with him in the side.
Dan Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 You're quite right we could, and even if we did we would still have won more games and more points with him in the side. True. I am pretty surprised by that stat I must admit. I just don't think he'll be as big a loss as many think. I'd take Drinkwater over him.

I'd take Drinkwater over him. I'd rather have kept one of our better players and dispensed with a weaker player. Still, who needs internationals?
acooling08 Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 If he is going I will be disappointed but not crushed. Much rather have Drinkwater. Abe was an OK player who could be very handy when on form.
ozleicester Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 If true To good a footballer for the team that Nigel is building. Thanks Yuki,
Kitchandro Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 Some of Kitchandro's comments make me wonder if he's confusing King with Abe. They deffo don't look alike. Either that or he's serious, and it makes me wonder whether I can take anything he says football related seriously anymore on this forum. Because I have a different view to you? ha. You know you haven't changed a bit since you were on 606. Your arrogance is astounding. BTW your blog is shit.
MONreborn Posted 22 January 2012 Posted 22 January 2012 If true awful decision we are now somehow short in cm fml if matt Oakley makes a return
