Ultra Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 When he's played, he's been better than Mills or Bamba. Just my opinion like. Not saying he is our best defender as such, simply that he's been better than the other two. Apart from the shockers he had against Bristol City, Millwall and West Ham. But credit to him tonight - he finally showed the form for City that he does for the RoI.
Ultra Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 An epic win - the biggest EVER by a City side against Forest.. But the visitors were heavily depleted and their manager clearly engaged in damage limitation, by taking off Greening and Boateng, with an eye on their trip to West Ham at the weekend. I'm sure the trees will prove a much stiffer test when they return in March for the League game. But every member of the City side redeemed themselves after the horror show on Saturday. Wellens and Danns in particular were immense, and with King apparently out for some time, we need that partnership to gel very quickly, given the tough impending schedule of fixtures And after many months, Jermaine Beckford finally showed glimpses of the form which persuaded Sven to splash out on him. Let's hope this hat-trick represents a real turning-point in his City career..
The Year Of The Fox Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Apart from the shockers he had against Bristol City, Millwall and West Ham. But credit to him tonight - he finally showed the form for City that he does for the RoI. Pelitier was at fault for the pass to st ledger for their goal. Konchesky was worse than SSL at west ham IMO. Hopefully mills n st ledger can get on. both played well
Dan Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Absolutely delighted, but my feet are on the ground, and so are our players I would hope. Forest won't stay up, it's just not possible. Even Coventry shit on them.
z-layrex Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 I was in a gig in an underground venue in Brighton with no signal for my phone whatsoever. My mate managed to get some signal to check the score, when he told me it was 4-nil I shouted YES right in a quiet bit of an acoustic set. Get in boys, we ****ing did em.
Raj Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 They were horrendous!!! But well done to us. Credit where it is due. Take a Bow boys! Now keep it going......else the boos will return!!
flowwolf Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 They were horrendous!!! But well done to us. Credit where it is due. Take a Bow boys! Now keep it going......else the boos will return!! That doesn't rhyme either.

Raj Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Just wondering where the mills, st ledger, beckford wellens and gally haters are tonight. as they were all class tonigh Now Now Lets not get carried away....They have top be like that consistently and more importantly in the League! who was the twat in the under pants??? I find it mindboggling why a grown man would want to do that, next to his fully clothed mates. Is it just to get on TV? I know Geodries do it but they are hard and wear T shirts in -3degrees but Leicester fans?
Burbage Fox Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING, OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY!!! I am sat in my office in London and for once the smug WHU boys cant give me a hard time and I am drinking my tea from my I LOVE LCFC mug proudly.. might not last but am enjoying the moment Beckford great, Danns Great, Mills and St Ledger looked solid and I have just about thawed out.. decent attendance
Captain... Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 I find it mindboggling why a grown man would want to do that, next to his fully clothed mates. Is it just to get on TV? I know Geodries do it but they are hard and wear T shirts in -3degrees but Leicester fans? I was assuming he lost a bet, or said something like if Beckford gets a hat-trick I'll chant his name naked.
Saxondale Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Here's my take on last night. It is difficult to countenance that this was fundamentally the same team that got battered by Barnsley. However, things were different. After last Saturday's disaster, somebody started a thread asking to describe what went wrong in ten words. I said "no pressing, no condidence, no effort, no strategy, no idea". All of these things were different last night: Pressing - We consistently pressed and chased balls from start to finish Confidence - Even though the team had obviously had a massive bollocking, they were playing with their heads up right kick off. Effort - We tried hard all over he pitch for the full 90 mins Strategy - The team looked lots more regimented and comfortable with the fairly rigid 4-4-2. Idea - We consistently looked like we might score What epitomised our performance, for me, was watching Nugent sprint 50 yards to close down two Forest defenders when were 4-0 up and about 85 mins gone. We can't get too carried away, obviously, because Forest were truly dire and Guy Moussi looked as comforable at CB as a nun at a porn convention. But I think this is mitigated by the WAY we beat them and how much we dominated hem. I hope this shows the team what they are capable of and we can carry some momentum forward in the league. COME ON LEICESTER!
reynard Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 The result is a really positive one and thoroughly deserved. Basically just about all the things we did poorly on Saturday were done well last night. We played with a real urgency, put in some tackles, kept the ball on the ground and passed it quickly and with a real attacking purpose. The midfield had better movement and there were several times when they actually offered themselves to receive the ball from defence. The set pieces were better if not great. The balls to Nugent and Beckford were exactly the type they require. We did far less aimless hoofing in the air and Beckford was different class and they just couldn't cope with him at all. However, to put it into context that has to be just about the most abject display I've seen by an opposition side if not ever then in many years. They didn't look like they wanted to be there. They never closed us down and their defence was pedestrian at best. It was in some ways similar to several games in the last couple of seasons. Sides that sit off us and allow Wellens to dictate midfield get punished whereas sides who close us down and don't give us space find we don't have the nous and skills to break them down. If I was a Forest fan I would be very concerned. To say they were awful would be a severe understatement. Take nothing away from us though. You can only beat what's in front of you and last night we did that with real aplomb.
MikeyT Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Makes for amusing reading. http://www.forestfans.net/index.php/topic/18577-fa-cup-3rd-round-replay-thread/
AmyLGK Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Apparently we won 5-0!!! So Gallys shot went in afterall! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4068562/Leicester-5-Nottingham-Forest-0-Nigel-Pearson-hails-Jermaine-Beckford.html
marbelladave Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Morning all, Fantastic result but Forest were truly awful, how much of that was down to us remains to be seen....... I have been keeping something of a low profile of late, not so much because of our poor play but because, in the main I could offer absolutely no suggestions of how we could change things for the better and just moaning without at least offering some alternatives strikes me as totally pointless. Despite the win I find it hard to be all that positive about the performance, more than good enough on the night but no real suggestions that we are making any progress. Still, the boost in confidence will be good, SSL, Danns and Beckford in particular can take a lot from last night and It will be interesting to see how much that helps come monday, in a real game!
chavdonk Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Does anyone else think we weren't carrying last night (Andy King) and Danns influence on the game is what pushed us on to a smashing win, if King was playing that result would've been so different as we all know he loves to go missing in games, no-one done that last night, played wioth a passion, having Danns in midfield raised Wellens' game and we reaped the rewards... Bring on Southampton!
lovelcfc Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Was a cracking result last night great to see the old wellens and beckford back solid defence i keep watching the highlights cuz im a sad bastard
Raj Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/pictures/Gallery-Leicester-City-4-Forest-0/pictures-14456598-detail/pictures.html NICE!!!!
steveherbe Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Did I hear something about a load of the K and L block lads actually going into the Kop last night? And if so, did it work? Any chance we can all reunite there? Much better behind a goal than from the 'Popular Side'. BTW, the TV link I watched (Fox I think), kept banging on about what a great atmosphere we produced.
Corky Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Well, that was enjoyable. Now, Forest was truly abysmal, the worst side I've seen down there since us on Saturday, but we were in poor form and most expected a poor game. But we started well, got at them early on and scored the first goal. It helps, we aren't chasing the game and we can play without too much stress. How Findley missed that chance is beyond me, but apart from one Kasper save we were in full control and could've had more. Great to see Beckford get some goals, clinical finishing and good work-rate, Nugent linked well with him, the midfield turned up and the defence solid, though the Forest "attack" was virtually non-existant. We're through, got some goals and a bit of a boost around the club. Swindon up next, no doubt in a much tougher match.
Corky Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 well, congrats on the win. Although you didn't really have to break into a sweat to do it. I did say before the game that we are woeful. Coterill makes McClaren look like a genius. Do you want your Billy back Hux?
RedHux Posted 18 January 2012 Posted 18 January 2012 Right now? Yes. Although he's no long term answer. I'd happily have anyone at the minute though. As you saw, we're awful and don't have a clue how to attack apart from flinging balls into the box. SC doesn't play Majewski for whatever reason despite him being able to pick the killer ball, and retain possession and being one of the most technically gifted players at the club. The pompey fans warned us SC has his favourites and will pick them regardless of form (Tudgay and McGugan have been consistently shit yet still start every league game). A big problem at Forest is the players. Apparently this time some of them are disgruntled that Doughty broke the wage structure for McClarens signings so have taken their metaphorical ball home. As an example, we have a forward who nobody will pass to! It's beyond pathetic.
