Wes Morgan from the Forest Scum

If SSL wants to leave for first team there is no point lying to him. We can't offer him that same with Tunch he's never going to get fit if he isnt regular so it's on him if he wants to leave in the summer. For 800k NP will have peace of mind and if people come in at the end of the window for SSL we could get a profit and put it towards a winger who knows i trust pearson to make the right decisions

What is it you don't understand?

Why we seem so keen to land Morgan when we already have 3 CBs who are better than him. Don't get me wrong I'd completely understand if he was available and Pearson thought he could get him in easily. In fact that would be great because he would certainly add to our SQUAD. But to see Pearson go back with 3 bids?

I realise it probably isn't really a matter of understanding and more to do with knowledge. I just hope whatever it is Pearson knows that I don't isn't something that I wont like (I think I might actually cry if Bamba leaves in the next 4 days)

Leicester City have made a third offer of around £800,000 for Nottingham Forest centre-half Wes Morgan, BBC Radio Nottingham understands.

The latest bid for the 27-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, will be discussed on Friday.

Although Morgan could leave in July on a free transfer, Reds manager Steve Cotterill has said he is keen to keep the club's longest-serving player.

Youth-team product Morgan has played 408 games for Forest.

I think there's more than meets the eye with this one. It's quite easy to think wtf is pearson doing bringing in another CB but we only really ever see the surface of things. Having faith in the management team is what its about.

ps. Please we desperately need at least 1 winger/wide player!!

What makes you think they are better than him? Before the last two games people seemed like they would have been happy to see the back of Mills and SSL. Morgan was in team of the year last year and was excellent for Forest over the past 3 years prior to this seasons all round disaster for them.

Pearson is an excellent judge of a centre back, bringing Morgan in means he either doesn't rate the others, or that he just thinks Morgan has more to offer. Then of course there is the possibilty that he knows one of the others if off.... and the fact it's public knowledge SSL is on the transfer list makes perfect sense to bring in someone else.

Well said.

It is obvious that one or more of Mills, Bamba, SSL & Tunch won't be here long term.

If he was to let 1 or more of them go without replacing them people would moan. So he's getting someone in first & people are still moaning.

For all we know it may be his brief to reduce the wage bill, after the 2 year plan took a hit despite outspending the whole division probably added together, yes it's a long term project but we might need to be self-financing if not in the Prem after the initial 2 year 'buy the league at all costs approach'

What we do know is that Pearson has chased Morgan & for that, there is certainly a reason.

MORGAN IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR SSL OR MILLS, think about it guys! Bamba isn't here, Tunchev is crocked, so what happens if one of our defenders faces time on the sidelines? Yes you can bring youth in, but that doesn't necessarily work, Nigel wants to make sure he has an experienced pro on the bench ready to step in of needed! You have seen how we have struggled in midfield recently due to injuries!

YOU DON'T KNOW THAT!

How do you know that we aren't getting Morgan in, then keeping SSL until deadline day and letting him go then. Meaning you have to last about 14 days with Morgan, Mills, Tunchev and Taft as ACON finishes on the 12th Feb.

There could be 100 reasons for needing Morgan. But realistically it's highly unlikely we aren't going to finish the season with all 5 of them. Our interest in Morgan first kicked off when SSL went on the list, so at the moment it's the most likely scenario that he's to replace him.

Maybe Pearsons long term plan is to play a back 5 with 3 centre halfs just a thought. he played it against palace so it must be in his thoughts.

He said he prefers 4-4-2 that is his only way.

He's a 4-4-2 man, he was here and he was at Hull. We also got our beset two performances playing a 4-4-2.

Personally I think that's unlikely, although not impossible.

Pearson is not signing Morgan because of Bamba being away for a few weeks, if he was purely signing a centre half on that basis he'd bring someone in on loan for a month. This is a long term signing as a replacement for either Tunchev, SSL, Mills or Bamba if he get's sold, which I think is the most likely come the summer.

More likely NP has been told to get rid of SSL because of something he's said to TOP.

You really think out of all the possible reasons, that's the one?

He kept calling Top, Top Dog and Top thought he was making reference to South East Asian's stereotype of eating dogs so he wants him gone.

Its the only one there is any truth behind. We pretty much know he had an altercation with pearson, possibly with top aswell. Top's probobly said " i'm prayin powo

for the next month and i don't want to se vat clunt when i get bak"

I can see where Babylon is coming from with this.. It all seems 'ifs' and 'buts'...

However, we could have a problem if:

- Tunch remains fit

- SSL doesn't leave

- Bamba comes back soon

Where would this then leave Morgan?

Remember he's a regular at Forest and will be another player who won't want to sign just to warm our bench...

I would guess that if we do sign Morgan then this is clear that SSL is going?... Most probably anyway.

Unlikely imo.

Maybe Pearson hates Forest as much as the rest of us and he's doing this purely to assure their relegation. 800k would be a small price to pay for that after all.

I'd love this to be true!
