Wes Morgan from the Forest Scum

I speak to people now about the city and they come out with crap like, 'i stopped going down when they sold Lineker/Heskey or since O'Neill went. These people now spend their Saturdays either shopping with the Mrs, doing D.I.Y or staying in with sky sports while the Mrs goes out on a jolly. The best one being that one mate stopped going, with a little persuasion from his other half, and now she goes instead while he baby sits the children, he isn't happy.

So before you give your season ticket up think about the future. The football at times has been poor over the years but the beer and company of good friends is always good.

I'd actually like to see some stats on our players pass completion rate. Is there anywhere where we can view them?

St Ledger- 95%

Ball- 0%

So you haven't seen a difference in our style of play from the Portsmouth, Palace and Barnsley games compared to the Forest and Southampton games? We've stopped the aimless hoofs all the while, which cannot be any coincidence that St Ledger has been pivotal to this. His pass completion rate must be 95% plus.

I saw plenty of hoofs during both the Southampton game and the Forest game. Mills has always been the main hoofer and always will be.

Ric baby, you know I love you. But are you seriously suggesting our style of play was changed because of him passing the ball out from the back? We played better because players were actually creating space all over the pitch by doing what all good teams do, moving about.

We've been stood like statues for 90% of most games this season, that was the major difference all over the pitch. It allowed the strikers to receive balls in threatening positions, it allowed midfielders to pass to strikers and wingers, and it allowed defenders to actually pass out from the back a bit more. Him being able to pass the ball out a bit more was a bi product of the teams movement, the teams movement was not a bi product of him passing the ball out.

Disagree with this .......Mills wasn't hoofing the ball in the air in these games ! Even the fantastic pass to Nugent at S'ton wasn't a hoof .

The main reason we played so well isn't rocket science .....it's simply that we DID play the ball to the midfield out of defence.... ON the floor !!

:kissing:

I noticed a difference and attributed it to that. One player can make a difference, even Mills started playing sideways passes to SSL perhaps realising he was better equipped at getting rid of the fooker than he was! :D

A partnership of Mills & Morgan would worry me, both of them are slow as hell.

This... Is no one concerned at just how slow Morgan is?

Similar to Mills... Good in the air, but not much pace.

Fan? A fan wouldn't stop going to watch Leicester because an average CB who has done the square root of feck all for us yet left.

If "Fans" stopped going every time their favourite player got sold there would be no fans left at any club in the world except Barcelona.

(think he was joking anyway) but hey it's give you another excuse to moan, (for a change)

Watch the games again, I have and there were many direct balls being played. We've never been like John Becks Cambridge with giant looking hoofs, but there are still plenty flat direct balls.

The reason we could pass it out more was because there were people to pass to. The movement didn't happen because of the passes, the passes happened because of the movement.

Without people moving to create space the defenders would have needed to play direct more often.

After thinking about these defenders were after I think Tunch and I would say St Ledger BUT I cant help but think it will be Bamba that's going and Ledger will stay.

Brown and Hobbs were as well and they got us in the playoffs.

I've not seen enough of Morgan to have a decent opinion on him. I doubt anyone on here has really. The majority of forest fans say positive things though.

I've got a couple of workmates who are Forest Season Ticket Holders. Both say that Morgan is liked, a bit of a favourite cos he tries hard. They also say you get him in a race with anyone half quick and he comes across like a lumbering cart horse.

We can do better than that, surely?

Yeah but what would you say as an LCFC fan of someone bought one of our players?

A) Oh shiv we really needed him for our season he will be missed an we will certainly be exposed if we can't replace him fast enough.

Or?

B) ha! You bought him! Good luck he's useless I'll give you money to take him! Hah unlucky on your team we will do better without him.

Walsh, Elliot, taggart, Hobbs when under Pearson. All of our best CB's over the years have not been that quick.

I can't argue with you mate... Although Walshy wasn't that slow... Remember when he got pushed upfront by Little, I think.

And to compare Walsh and Elliott to Wes Morgan is insulting!!

lol

To be fair I've known these two for years... They're usually pretty good judges of a player... As I said, they like Morgan, but you get him one on one and he's a plank... That kinda thing...

Don't mean we shouldn't sign him, just telling ya what I've been told...

Appreciated I'm sure they are credible. Every player has weaknesses you never know he might add something to our defensive unit. I trust Pearson to make the right decisions and he has in this window so far I think.

Posted

At the end of the day SSL wants something we can't guarantee he's young and hungry for first team football and a chance to represent his country at the world stage so if he wants to go he will go. Pearson needs to do his best to strengthen up if someone comes in last minute

Posted

SSL has only been playing because of Tunchev's injury anyway. He would have been gone before Forest otherwise

So true But had NP given him the chance with Mills before It may never have come to it.

They might not be the best pairing in the division and time can only tell. But they might be our best pairing.

Yes they will make mistakes but all will.

Also realise they were not the reason for the tree's and soton results but they were a factor.

Roll on tomoz another clean sheet and good win with SSL and DANNS really doing the business.
