Sky Sports understands Leicester City have made a third bid for defender Wes Morgan in the region of £800,000, but Nottingham Forest are holding out for £1million.

Sources on Thursday revealed the 27-year-old has asked for permission to talk to the Foxes about a move to the King Power Stadium.

Leicesterspacer.gif have had two bids rejected, as boss Nigel Pearsonspacer.giflooks take advantage of the fact Morganspacer.gif will be out of contract in the summer.

Pearson has made the centre-back his top choice as he looks to bolster his defence and it would appear all they need to do is meet Forest's valuation before Tuesday's Deadline Day.

Morgan has come through the ranks at Forest and a number of other Championship sides are thought to be monitoring his contract situation.

£1Million is still pretty decent why are we fighting over 200k when players are bought for 35mill these days

Trying to get him on the cheap, that said £1m isn't a lot of money nowadays for us.

He's not very good though, and his contracts running out. Hed be worth a million tops if he had 4 years left on his contract. Forest fans rate him because he's a local lad and he's played 400 games for them. You'll never beat wes morgan #myarse

I think Pearson wants to sell Bamba to Blackburn for a few million, as he would rather have the money than an unpredictable player at this level. Its horses for courses in the championship and Morgan fits the bill. big, strong, no messing centre back, to go alongside Mills. At 28 he is an ideal age aswell as experience ... He is their favourite player so he must be pretty consistent at this level.

Replacements for Tunch and Bamba perhaps?

God knows, Pearson obviously doesn't rate any of our current CB's if he's bidding for both of them.

Where has Bamba leaving come from?

The minds of people on here.

Chances are we're firing out offers to try and get one in, no point in waiting to hear from someone before bidding on another player. Not long left in the window now.

Exactly how I see it. We can put more than one bid in at a time. I think it'll all come down to deadline day now though for some reason. Nail biting stuff lol

Think we only want 1 too. Still seems odd though. Thought Nige would be quite happy with the defence.

We shouldn't be surprised, he showed last time he was here he's happy to replace a good player with a mediocre one if he doesn't get on with him. (Gradel - N'Guessan). Bamba clearly isn't his type of defender either, it was nice while it lasted Sol. :glare:

do not think for one second now that sean st ledger will leave, not after reading what walshy's said! got a feeling it will be Bamba leaving :(

Steve Walsh has an opinion like the rest of us his view is irrelevant it's only his opinion. What he has wrote in the mercury doesn't bear any significance to NP or SSL decisions. I don't understand your point , walshy has nothing to do with LCFC other than being an ex player.

What did Walshy say about SSL?

Only that he THOUGHT SSL probably regrets his outburst before the ipswich game. Something that we all probably think. But it has no relevance at all.

Correct in the last jan transfer window Sven spent to much time chasing one player and ended up with nothing. Pearson is keeping his options open which is the right thing to do.

I don't think Morgan / Chester joining definitely means that someone is leaving. Bamba could be gone a lot longer and let's be honest,Tunch isn't up to a whole season - if SSL or Mills cop an injury then we're in trouble aren't we?

I get the feeling that Chester is NP's first choice but Morgan is the more likely - doubt he'd sign both.
