Bettsy82 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 In Bamba we have one of the best, if not the best c.b's in the division, and some of our fans want to get rid of him. Unbelievable! our defensive record when hes in the team tells a different story.
Ric Flair Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 In Bamba we have one of the best, if not the best c.b's in the division, and some of our fans want to get rid of him. Unbelievable! Good player but when you think what we'd get for him (£3 million) and the cover we have, i'd let him go if the chance arises.
MGLCFC Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Bamba is not one of the best centre backs - he's a talented footballer who does his own thing, often getting away with it, at the expense of a cohesive defensuve unit.
Guest Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 I'll agree with the guy who said Bamba is one of the best CBs in the league.
Mission Unlikely Promotion Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 I dont see what the fuss is all about, we are desperately short of numbers at the mo with recent departures and injuries etc. If we do sign Morgan it will help
Bettsy82 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 I'll agree with the guy who said Bamba is one of the best CBs in the league. I still feel he could be the best midfielder in the league he has all the qualities to be superb in that position. if he does leave without us trying him in midfield id be gutted.
Sods Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 As said already I don't think mills and st ledger could deal with a big man up front in the air and that is what Pearson likes. Brown, Tunchev, Chester are all beasts in the air on their day. Having tunchev around means we need another centre back anyway due to his injuries, bamba although is a unit is poor in the air, gives too many free kicks away, can see him off and taking a decent profit on him. Morgan goes on runs like bamba so you won't miss much.
Libertine Dream Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Why would Morgan be useless if we go up? Slow, immobile, poor footballer, not many strikers in the PL are like Steve Howard, the type of player Morgan loves to play against.

MGLCFC Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 I just don't rate Bamba a class defender, great individual footballer, but to erratic to be considered reliable as part of a defensive unit. We've looked far more organised with SSL and MM

dannythefox Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Morgan coming in must mean Tunch or Bamba will be on the way but I feel Bamba could do a job in the midfield players would not know what to do with him and he does like getting forward.
Salieri Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Have to agree. Bamba may be worth a try in a DM role but as a central defender he is prone to errors. He often tries to play his way out when the simple option would be better. Good player and I hope we keep him (for now) but I have reservations.
Happy Fox Posted 29 January 2012 Author Posted 29 January 2012 It is an odd one, can see Bamba leaving now, but if we get a good fee for him we can reinvest it in signing a good quality winger or two.

Agreed, but at least if he made mistakes in defensive midfield hed have cover. Rather than when he makes mistakes playing centre half and it results in the opposition scoring.
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Some people have commented that, solid as they're playing together, SSL & Mills don't offer a huge physical presence. This may be a crucial failing against certain opposition, and it is what Morgan will give us, if his reputation is anything to go by. As an example, I watched the Sund v Midds game today, with a particular eye on Jutkeweic (?) and our forthcoming game against them on Wednesday. His height and physical presence might cause Mills & SSL a problem that could be annulled by someone like Morgan. His acquisition could give us both cover and an extra tactical option. This

FoxesCanada Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Hard to argue with recent results. The team looks great defensively without Bamba. Gotta love the way SSL is playing. I like Sol in certain situations, but it's about fielding the best TEAM, not the best collection of individuals.
FoxesCanada Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Also, Stringer said the Morgan deal looks done on Twitter.

I think St Ledger has won every header in a Leicester shirt so far. Very impressive. In my opinion, Bamba struggles against big men, such as Darius Henderson (scored 3 at King Power) and Andy Gray (caused us all sorts of trouble at Oakwell).
Bettsj2 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 The way some people are talking, we should have a starting 11 and enough to fill the bench and thats it. Morgan is a proven Championship level centre back. He doesnt piss about with the ball, he doesnt get bullied and he's at the age where he's entering his prime as a footballer. We're paying a decent price that isnt over the top, and he gives us an option where in recent weeks its become more obvious that we dont actually have any. It would have been easy to look to the loan market but the problem with that is the problem we had under Sven. All the players get used to playing with each other, then come the summer they **** off which leaves us needing to buy again. This is a GOOD signing.
Happy Fox Posted 29 January 2012 Author Posted 29 January 2012 McGugan and Bamford from those c**ts as well and that will do nicely.
dannythefox Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 I just cant see him getting back in the side Mills and Ledger look better than Mills and Bamba ever did they have a very good understanding. I can only see Bamba getting in the midfield because we are short in that department if he gets in the defence this Ledger crap will start all over again.
