Corky Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Can't say I'm thrilled by it, but I suppose we should give him a chance in the side before writing him off totally.
Babylon Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 For all of his comments about there being no problem with SSL, I wouldn't be shocked to still see him go. Thawing your toys out with Pearson is signing your own death warrant.
Simmo86 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 As people have said the end of Bamba is no biggy! We will get a tidy sum for a defender nobody can form a partnership with!
cairnsy Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 To be honest i think Morgan is a very good player whenever i have seen him play. This must mean atleast one of our current defenders will leave - we will have 5 decent CB's when we leave, unless nigel is ready to play the 3-5-2/5-3-2 due to the lack of wingers being signed (unless marshall gets signed tommorow)
Bettsy82 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Find it funny that people think any of Mills, Bamba, SSL or Morgan would be happy to sit on the bench for a Championship side. We can't keep 4 CBs of that quality happy. Pretty sure that's for Pearson to worry about not us.
wakeyfox01 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 The fact Bamba would go for a tidy sum to a bigger club should tell you something. Three decent games and suddenly St Ledger's the next Beckenbauer or Baresi
nuttyhead Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Surely it's obvious, someone is going to be leaving, and with SSL off the transfer list it leaves Bamba, Mills or Tunchev !
Libertine Dream Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 The fact Bamba would go for a tidy sum to a bigger club should tell you something. Three decent games and suddenly St Ledger's the next Beckenbauer or Baresi I like Bamba but he isn't a Pearson player and for that reason we should collect the money and move on. NP is building a his own squad and wants his type of player, to play his way and win us football games. Surely it's obvious, someone is going to be leaving, and with SSL off the transfer list it leaves Bamba, Mills or Tunchev ! Tunchev will go at the end of the season anyway and Bamba more than likely will. Morgan does seem a short term thing to me, if we go up this year or next he'll be useless.
Bettsy82 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Ever heard of emergency loans? This is not a squad signing. He's going to cause some unhappiness between Mills, St Ledger and Bamba. Why are people so worried ? competition for places is healthy. Any professional who thinks they warrant a place in the team because of there reputation isn't worth having and np obviously feels that way after the SSL affair. You're only as good as your last game. Pretty sure that these players are fully aware that if they don't perform they will be replaced. This is a good thing and if players are gonna throw there toys out of there pram then get rid. SSL was crap first couple of games and deserved to be replaced he bucked his ideas up and look at him now. People have to look at the bigger picture here NP is building a quality SQUAD not a quality team.
Ian W LCFC Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Personally i hope Bamba goes because every time he gets the ball in defense i get so worried that he will make a mistake
Bettsy82 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Surely it's obvious, someone is going to be leaving, and with SSL off the transfer list it leaves Bamba, Mills or Tunchev ! Why is Tunchevs name even being mentioned he's clearly finished as a footballer he's never fully fit and it's just a matter of time before his knee gives way again. He WAS a class player not anymore.

He WAS a class player not anymore. Wouldn't be surprised if Tunch leaves by Tuesday evening, especially if Palace offer any money at all for him. Shame, but as others have said he's not the player he was. Morgan will be huge for us (literally and metaphorically) in times to come, i'm sure.

Bettsy82 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Pretty sure Wes Morgan was in the championship team of the season last season voted for by the LMA a team Bamba wasn't in nor Mills so why all the moaning we've signed a quality centre half in the opinion of the managers of this league who probably know a little more than us lot on foxestalk.
Rusko187 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 I can't really understand this signing, we've got Mills and SSL playing really well together at the moment and being part of a defence which hasn't conceded in 3 games. We have Sol Bamba whose away on duty but will be returning soon and finally Tunch who can still play at this level no problem. Surely Mills, SSL and Bamba is enough of a headache in selection let alone throwing Morgan in the mix too? Don't get me wrong he could be a class signing but I just don't see what the plan is?
Hinckleyfox Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 I know it been said befor but maybe NP is thinking of moving sol in to midfield, with yuki gona and king out for the foreseeable it gives him another option. Anyways, all the good teams have depth and players should be happy to fight for their place. If not...... JOG ON!
Bettsy82 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 This!! Ive done my ACL twice he will never be the player he was its way too serious. I was his biggest fan he was class before his injury but hes never been the same player which is understandable. he wont be here much longer in my opinion any transfer fee we could get for him would be a bonus.
Spiritwalker Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 In Bamba we have one of the best, if not the best c.b's in the division, and some of our fans want to get rid of him. Unbelievable!
deep blue Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Some people have commented that, solid as they're playing together, SSL & Mills don't offer a huge physical presence. This may be a crucial failing against certain opposition, and it is what Morgan will give us, if his reputation is anything to go by. As an example, I watched the Sund v Midds game today, with a particular eye on Jutkeweic (?) and our forthcoming game against them on Wednesday. His height and physical presence might cause Mills & SSL a problem that could be annulled by someone like Morgan. His acquisition could give us both cover and an extra tactical option.
crisp packet Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Thank god I am now reading sense .... (can't multi quote am on me phone )
Guest Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Personally i hope Bamba goes because every time he gets the ball in defense i get so worried that he will make a mistake Unlike Mills who you expect to get sent off and SSL who you expect to be caught out.
