Lambert09 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 The way some people are talking, we should have a starting 11 and enough to fill the bench and thats it. Morgan is a proven Championship level centre back. He doesnt piss about with the ball, he doesnt get bullied and he's at the age where he's entering his prime as a footballer. We're paying a decent price that isnt over the top, and he gives us an option where in recent weeks its become more obvious that we dont actually have any. It would have been easy to look to the loan market but the problem with that is the problem we had under Sven. All the players get used to playing with each other, then come the summer they **** off which leaves us needing to buy again. This is a GOOD signing. I think the main reason people have an issue with the signing is the fact that he is not likely to have come here to sit on the bench. Which could well mean one of the current centre backs is leaving...if its Tunchev then fair enough but any of the others and I will be royally ****ed off

Bettsj2 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 I just cant see him getting back in the side Mills and Ledger look better than Mills and Bamba ever did they have a very good understanding. I can only see Bamba getting in the midfield because we are short in that department if he gets in the defence this Ledger crap will start all over again. If Bamba cant get in, it means we're doing well. Why are so many people against one player not being in the team? That's the key word. TEAM. If we're winning games and climbing the league, I wouldn't care less if Bamba wanted to leave. I support Leicester not Sol Bamba.

I imagine he just wants away. If anyone thinks we're going to be gauranteeing Wes Morgan 1st team football, you have a very low opinion of our management team.
LCFC FOX Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Will be used as back up i imagine Bamba will push up to cdm as well and tunchev to be the one that goes.

I agree but I would be surprised if he was happy on the bench as we only get 5 subs as well its hard to do that! Sol can leave for me if were doing well.
Happy Fox Posted 29 January 2012 Author Posted 29 January 2012 Will be used as back up i imagine Bamba will push up to cdm as well and tunchev to be the one that goes. Never going to happen Bamba does not want to play CDM.
leicesterisme Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 McGugan and Bamford from those c**ts as well and that will do nicely. Can I just ask, have you ever actually seen Bamford play a football game? Or are you just basing it on him scoring 5 against Wigan U18s?
Salieri Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Never going to happen Bamba does not want to play CDM. I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong but could you kindly provide a source for that bold statement please?
LCFC FOX Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Never going to happen Bamba does not want to play CDM. Why? His name is not Carlos Tevez he wont refuse to play
Jobyfox Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 I think the reason that SSL's star is so high at the moment is because he's playing in a winning side. The first few games I saw him in I thought he looked distinctly average with a few individual errors like the expensive one against Bristol City. The Mills/SSL partnership currently looks strong and there is absolutely no reason to change it. Let's not forget, however, that it's coincided with the whole team playing much better collectively. Quite simply the defence has not been put under as much pressure as the team have been closing down much better. It's convenient to forget that Mills has cost us games with his discipline and SSL has put in some very ordinary performances - and easy to think that it was all Sol Bamba's fault. Sol is a very good defender and we should fight to keep him part of our squad. He should, however, have to battle to get back in the team if the current form continues, which is exactly what SSL should have done in the first place.
Number 6 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Ok we've had 3 clean sheets recently but in fairness we pushed our luck at times. Forest missed open goal from all of a yard, Soton had their best 2 players out and Swindon should have put one past us considering chances created. Looks a superb defensive record on paper but doesn't tell the whole story.
Babylon Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 I think the main reason people have an issue with the signing is the fact that he is not likely to have come here to sit on the bench. Which could well mean one of the current centre backs is leaving...if its Tunchev then fair enough but any of the others and I will be royally ****ed off Why would you be bothered about any of them leaving. It's not like we've actually done anything with these players in the team, if they had proven themselves good enough and we were sitting pretty i could understand it. Until the last three games we've been spectacularly average. And even then we've only not conceded due to luck and poor finishing. Pearson obviously doesn't think what we have is up to the task... And it's fairly difficult to argue against if you are honest about our performances this year.
smudger63 Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Can I just ask, have you ever actually seen Bamford play a football game? Or are you just basing it on him scoring 5 against Wigan U18s? That lot seem to think he`s going to be the next Rooney, and their best chance of staying up, if he ever gets picked for the first team.. He was linked with a million pound move to some big clubs this morning. If they did sell him, it seems half their fans would be chucking themselves in the trent, they`re that disillusioned at the state of their club. My heart bleeds for them, it really does!
Happy Fox Posted 29 January 2012 Author Posted 29 January 2012 I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong but could you kindly provide a source for that bold statement please? It was in article by the merc a while back that he is not conformable playing in that position.
Happy Fox Posted 29 January 2012 Author Posted 29 January 2012 Can I just ask, have you ever actually seen Bamford play a football game? Or are you just basing it on him scoring 5 against Wigan U18s? Not based on him scoring 5 against Wigan U18s but also his 4 goals against Southampton in the following round in the FA youth Cup. Is a talent would be worth a punt imo,

Karljohn Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Wonder if we are set to loan tunch back out if Morgan comes in, either that or Bamba is off....after having 6 CM we now look set to have 5 CB, seems odd.
Shit_arse Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Pearson wants his own players - Regardless of how many CB's we've got he wants the sort of players he wants to work with

Callabinho Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 He was a red he's now a blue Morgan, Morgan He is city through and through Morgan, Morgan From the forest he walked away all the way to filbert way, Westley Morgan Leicestershire number...................

I trust Pearson 100% he's an excellent manager and whoever he buys I'll support regardless of what position they play and who they might replace. Yes mills and SSL have looked solid last 3 games but against who ? Forest who are crap Southampton who were missing lambert and lallana and Swindon who are league 1. Wednesday will be a proper test for me there were times in the first half against Swindon when that pairing looked awful.
Kitchandro Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 It's strange to me that we seem to be focusing a lot of attention on the centre back area, yet we still haven't brought in a winger and it looks unlikely that we'll bring in more than one.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 29 January 2012 Posted 29 January 2012 Its official http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wes_Morgan
