oli fox Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Personally I'd go for Stuart Pearce on a temporary basis (possibly through the Euros) and if he does a good job then he gets it permanent, if not the 'Arry. I would like to see 'Arry straight away but I reckon he would finish the season with Spurs and that would leave it too late to take us to the Euros.
Ozwin Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 If Stuart Pearce gets it I'm done with this shit.

Tielemans63 Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 I'd prefer an Englishman but Guus Hiddink would be a good shout.
Finnegan Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 I will be genuinely a little surprised if Redknapp takes it now. I think he'll fancy that whoever takes it will only be in the post two or three years and that he's still going to be in football long enough to do it again. What he's got built at Spurs right now is right on the cusp of producing results and I think he'd be mad to jump now. I don't see Mourinho managing England, he's a proud Portuguese and he famously once said that international management was an old man's game. He'll walk in to a top role in the Prem when one of the big "six" next sack their manager, imo.
Leicesterpool Posted 8 February 2012 Author Posted 8 February 2012 don't laugh somebody on fivelive said Glenn Hoddle
Guest MattP Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Mourinho Sure he wants to leave his 7 point lead over Barca to come and manage this lot.
Simmo86 Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 I voted Pearce but I just watched this clip of Warnock and perhaps this is what those ponces need - a Yorkshireman giving them a massive bollocking rather than a stuttering foreigner babbling on about meaningless formations. I want to know how they got on 2nd half!
Webbo Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 If Redknapp doesn't want it it'll more than likely be Pearce.
Simmo86 Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Mourinho Sure he wants to leave his 7 point lead over Barca to come and manage this lot. Come April when La LIga is done and dusted take over. Simples If Redknapp doesn't want it it'll more than likely be Pearce.
21st Century Fox Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Someone made a pretty good point on the Guardian live news feed.... 9.16pm: Here's an interesting email from Rob Handfield: "While I'm not overly disappointed with the news, I think it's a pretty sad time for English football - if we didn't know that already. The FA searched for the best man for the job after the McClaren shambles, and found him in Capello. The man has been HUGELY successful everywhere he's been, and if he is not the best manager around he is certainly up there. The fact is that even he could do nothing with the players available and the management structure of the governing body. It runs much deeper than whether or not he has 'lost the plot' or his inability to speak English. We need to stop searching for the 'right man for the job' who will magically make our so called great players win tournaments. English or foreign, tactically astute or motivator, it doesn't seem to matter – something is severely broken beyond the reach of the manager, and yet we continue to blame 40 plus years of failure on not having the right man picking the team. Capello was and still is one of the very best around - it's time to have a serious look elsewhere for reasons we can't win and stop blaming the cult of the manager." Couldn't agree more, Rob. The amount of money directed up the directed down the food chain and invested in trying to change the results-driven culture ingrained in English football from under-8s up, is depressing.
Guest MattP Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Come April when La LIga is done and dusted take over. Simples So walk out 2 years into a 5 year deal with the biggest club in the world after winning the league? England fans are nuts, some people need to get back on this planet ASAP.
21st Century Fox Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Mourinho isn't going to happen, even with the business he's yet to wrap up this season, why would he want the England job? He's got his sights firmly set on Sir Alex's seat if he ventures over here again. The England job is such a poisoned chalice and people wonder why they have to throw so much money at managers get them to take it!
Guest ttfn Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Hoddle wasn't that bad a manager for England. I'd go so far as to say he was a good England manager. We played much better football under him than anyone else lately. This is stirring memories of Le Tournoi!
Corky Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Neil Warnock, what a man. Get him in. WARNOCK FOR ENGLAND!!
Donut Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 I might be the only one here who thinks Harry Redknapp simply isnt international class
