I agree, also remember how Real Madrid took Spurs to bits last season.

A bit harsh considering Real Madrid are capable of taking any team apart. Spurs did brilliantly to get that far in the competition, they had already punched above their weight.

Haven't read every page, but surprised at the lack of shout for Wenger.

A brilliant developer of youth and someone who would install a vision/way of playing for England which has been lacking for sooo long! The patience of Arsenal fans is wearing thin (ridiculous) and maybe he'd fancy a new challenge?

He's still world class for me and would do a great job.

Voted Redknapp though and he'd be my 1st choice. hate the twitching **** but he's the best man for the job without a doubt.

Tme for Redknapp I guess..he'd have the media onside and probably get something out of the players (as they cannot self motivate themselves?) but hopefully people won't get too excited.

Afterall he can only coach..not play the game.

My only doubt is that in the past Harry has said the "Golden Generation" of players can still perform for England when it matters....maybe some can but we need to start looking to the future as Capello was.

No decision will be made until after the prem season, we have 1 friendly between now and the end of the season, which Pearce is taking.

I expect someone, probably Redknapp to take us through the Euros on a short term contract and then if it is successful (play well make the semi's and lose to Spain) then they will do everything they can to get him permanent, if it is a disaster then Harry can go back to Spurs.

Harry is not going to leave Spurs easily and without some sort of guarantee, a risk free shot at the Euros might be his the only chance of getting him into the job, it will also help him assess if he can do both jobs. It does also depend on how spurs finish, if they fail to make it to the CL, then he will go, if they make a serious title challenege and finish 2nd 3rd then he will stay, and maybe do it part-time.

If Harry isn't budging then I can see it being Hodgson, English and has experience managing international teams, again maybe as a caretaker until after the Euros. A Hiddink, or a Sven could be another option for a caretaker until after the Euros, it depends if the FA think they need someone in before the end of the domestic season.

Even now people are out for him.

Spot on there I reckon.

Mourihno- (A slight interest but he would want a huge offer from the fa to take the job)

Not necessarily, he may have an enormous ego but Mourinho isn't actually fuelled by money. I read in the Times (I think it was a Duncan Castles article, was also in Marca in Spain) that Kerimov at Anzhi was willing to make him the highest paid manager in the world but he refused to go through commitment to his project at Madrid.

He's not all about the readies, and, if he'd be willing to listen to any offers, has to be considered.

As said though - of all available candidates, my preference would be Hiddink. Knows international tournament football so well and has experienced the knock-out nature of it before. All of his teams in international tournaments have either performed admirably or surpassed expectations - South Korea in 2002, Australia in 2006, and Russia in 2008 for example.

Isn't afraid to deal with egos either. There were plenty more in the Dutch side he took charge of and lead to respectable tournament finishes in the nineties than there are here. On Edgar Davids:

When Hiddink dropped him from the Dutch team during the European Championships in 1996, Davids accused him of racism. Hiddink told him to pack his bags and go home.

And many more...

I'm not sold on Redknapp. Don't get me wrong he has done wonders with Tottenham but at every club he tends to buy 100's of players.

The England coach needs to coach more than manage, they have very little time with the players to train etc. I think let Pearce take us into the Championships for continuity and then assess after that.

Whoever it is i would like the next manager to pick players on merit and when the play for England put them in the positions they play in there team. Too many managers move players about.

You could look at how he has got the best out of Bale after a shaky start to his Spurs career, and they way he has brought on players like Livermoore and Walker. He also seems to be getting the best out Adebayor, you can even include Defoe and Pavelychenko in there, aren't first team regulars but he gets them psyched up whenever they come on.

You can also look at how he manages Ledley King, how he is still playing is a miracle, considering his knees have been ****ed for years.

He is not just a wheeler dealer, I think he is a great man manager and motivator, he seems to be getting his tactics right too.

Good point, but Bale could of come good under anyone. But again thats the if game which is most of life and football.

He does fit in well with the press due to his honesty, but they will hound him out at some point.

I don't agree with some of your points though, Adebayor started well at both Arsenal and Man City but still managed to fall out at some point and throw his dummy out the pram. Defoe has gone from a proilific scorer to a squad player and Pavelychenko isn't the best player to use as he hasn't been a success at the club.

I understand that he isn't just a wheeler dealer, i just don't think he fits right for my liking. But who knows till he gets a chance, he could be the best manager we've had.

Whoever is chosen i think the problem lies with the attitude of the players, they don't seem to be bothered about playing for there country. Capello is a great manager and he tried to put a bit of discipline in the team but the players didn't like it.
