Leicesterpool Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Wouldn't mind seeing both Alan Shearer and Stuart Pearce only touchline.
Leicesterpool Posted 8 February 2012 Author Posted 8 February 2012 If MON never joined Sunderland I would have shouted his name for the job.
Jimothy Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Has someone told 'Arry he won't be able to sign Xavi and Iniesta from Spain on the eve of the tournament, whilst selling Darren Bent to the Germans? One from 'Arry, Pardew, O'Neill, or Hiddink.
Leicesterpool Posted 8 February 2012 Author Posted 8 February 2012 There's a possibility of Jose because he wants out at Madrid, fancies a job in England.
jonthefox Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 I think old 'arrys got a dilemma now. He wants the england job, but im sure he would have wanted to see the season out at spurs.
Guest ttfn Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Of those on there, Mourinho. I know I'm in a minority, but I'd like to see Hodgson given a chance. It's been long established that managing a club side is a completely different kettle of fish to a national side. Here's a novel idea - why don't we employ somebody to be the England national team manager with some experience of managing a national team? Hodgson has managed both Finland (narrowly missing out on Euro 2008) and Switzerland (taking them to the '94 world cup). He's English to boot, which doesn't matter to me but seems to be an important criterion for others.
wakeyfox01 Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Can see a caretaker for the next friendly then Harry getting the job at the end of the season.
Guest shearfox Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 I think old 'arrys got a dilemma now. He wants the england job, but im sure he would have wanted to see the season out at spurs. We should allow him to see out the season with spurs and then take the job permanently after....
Saxondale Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 I voted Pearce but I just watched this clip of Warnock and perhaps this is what those ponces need - a Yorkshireman giving them a massive bollocking rather than a stuttering foreigner babbling on about meaningless formations.
wattolcfc Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 1. Smiffy (Gavin & Stacey) check out his England comic relief team talk. 2. John Fashanu, Black and had a gay brother, 2 birds, one stone. 3. Gavin Ward.. gotta be a better manager than a ref?
Ozwin Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 We need a motivator, we've had Sven, Capello, McClaren in the past and they've all been pretty reserved characters. Redknapp would be perfect. If we were a smaller nation with less expectation then Hodgson would be a good shout but he's just another reserved character who'll get nothing from these bunch of overpaid women. Mourinho would be absolutely spot on too, he brings you 'the world is against us' mentality which is perfect for England but he's not English. He'd get on with the media though, which'd make a change, the media love to hate on the boss.
21st Century Fox Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Stuart Pearce is definitely in charge for the Holland game anyway according to Gareth Southgate.
Tielemans63 Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Harry Redknapp all the way. Don't think Mourinho would fancy international management for some reason although he'd be a great appointment. After those two you're left with.... ...and nobody wants that. He's done okay with the U21's but would be a disaster as the top man.
21st Century Fox Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Someone did mention that Benitez is a dab hand at knockout tournaments
Tielemans63 Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Someone did mention that Benitez is a dab hand at knockout tournaments It's not beyond the realms of possibility! Could get the job on a temp basis if Redknapp is unattainable?
Libertine Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 If we were a smaller nation with less expectation then Hodgson would be a good shout but he's just another reserved character who'll get nothing from these bunch of overpaid women. Agreed. He'd be way too cautious and would be slaughtered by the press.
