Guy Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Gally-Gally-Gally-Gally-Gally-Gally-gaher, he comes and goes, he comes and goes......(Karma Chameleon)! Well done Paul, about time too.....a sublime free kick and a 100% record from the penalty spot. If only he could play like this every week but he's only human I guess!
FoxyPV Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Thank fvck for that. 3 points in the bag and from the sounds of it a good performance. Onwards and upwards
EcclesallOwl Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Told you all LEICESTER WILL MAKE THE PLAY-OFFS!
Salieri Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Told you all LEICESTER WILL MAKE THE PLAY-OFFS! And Carlito's Way will have to eat 10 shit sandwiches.
Dan Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Very, very impressed. 2-1 didn't do us justice, that was a 2-0/3-0. Totally controlled against one the leagues top teams, very happy with that. Unchanged for Tuesday please, Danns to come onto the bench maybe. It's about time we back it up.
FrankieADZ Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 thought we played superb, if I was being picky....we just lack the lethal pass at times... all round solid display from all the lads today too Also I thought Mark Halsey had a good game too, best ref we've had in a while imv Now we need to keep this up into the Watford game on Tuesday night
Lobsterboyuk Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Solid performance making one of the leagues best teams look ordinary for long spells, still a glimmer of hope for this season but if not, can't wait for next season, love Drinkwater, especially how he made a point of applauding us all with Schmeichel at the end, acts like somebody who gives a sh*t about pulling on the blue shirt, love it...
steveherbe Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Just watched the video of Gallys free kick earlier in this thread - and I reckon it gets a deflection of their wall. Watch it, defender goes up and the ball definitely takes an alarming change of direction. Taking nothing away from Gallys strike, just something I think I noticed. What do others think?

Happy Fox Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Even a Cardiff fan said we are the best team they have played this season and we are in a false position in the league , the biggest thing for us is consistency, the squad we have on paper is good enough for automatic promotion imo, we just need to translate those performances more regularly and we will be right up their.
rico Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Not taking anything away from todays performance, but does anyone not think that perhaps Cardiff players had one eye on the cup final in a couple of weeks?
dave_the_fox Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 It's all bout beckfords comedy slip when that free kick flys in
steveherbe Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 I don't think it does, watched it a few times and it looks like its straight over the wall Marginal, but thanks for your opinion - maybe too much wine this end!

Guest Col city fan Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 I personally think this thread has been one of the most realistic I've read on here in ages. Yes, we won today but people don't seem to be getting carried away and, quite rightly, are waiting to see how we do on Tuesday. The common sense on here seems to be being reflected on the pitch. For me today that was one of the best overall performances of the season. In Drinky I think Pearson has unearthed a real young talent..
Babylon Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 I personally think this thread has been one of the most realistic I've read on here in ages Probably because the reactionaries are elsewhere. A four page post match thread is pathetic. We'd be on twenty had we lost!
lcfcadam Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 We're only 2 points further off the play-offs than Forest are off Championship safety
Thracian Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Encouraging. Just as at Southampton we showed our capabilities and despite missing far to many decent chances, Gallagher showed, once again, why he is a valuable member of our squad for all that he is so frustrating. Today he made a reasonable contribution generally and the importance of his goals earned him MoM for me but he had real competition from Danny Drinkwater who looked the real thing in midfield...quick, eager to be involved, thoughtful, accurate and a whole lot of other things. Beckford too looked dangerous and involved. There were still disappointments but let's keep pressing people and going for goals. We might yet surprise even ourselves.
Kitchandro Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Probably because the reactionaries are elsewhere. A four page post match thread is pathetic. We'd be on twenty had we lost! Just thinking the same. I suppose people come on here to vent and with a satisfying performance they don't feel the need to bother. Plastic fairweather Foxestalkers
Dan Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Not taking anything away from todays performance, but does anyone not think that perhaps Cardiff players had one eye on the cup final in a couple of weeks? That'll be their excuse.
lcfcadam Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 I'm assuming the majority (just about) of posters on here should be at least my age or older, in which case you'll know that bad things provoke much, much more reaction than good things. That's the way things are in all walks of like, and football is no different. 20 pages for a loss / 4 pages for a win is probably quite a good ratio really
reynard Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Totally commanding performance against one of the top sides in the league. We pressed high up the pitch and in numbers. Whittingham was basically marked out of the game and without any significant input from him Cardiff were made to look very very ordinary. There were a lot of positives today but as other have pointed out unless we back it up with a win it won't count for a great deal. Gallagher had his one good game in ten but needs to play like that every week. We kept the ball much better and for longer. We worked very hard as a team to win the ball back. Drinkwater looked very good in midifeld with passing and movement almost continuous for the whole game. Defensively we tended to defend as a unit and there seems to be an understanding developing between SSL and Mills which looks encouraging. Our set pieces were better if not great but at least we beat the first defender. We played the ball largely on the ground but weren't afraid to mix it up with some good long balls. One thing that continues to concern me is our defending from set pieces. We just don't seem to clear them confidently and often allow sides a second chance to get the ball back in. Overall though an excellent display and result. We are starting to look like a team rather than a group of talented individuals.
allotment-fox Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 A nice day to be a city fan boo boys quiet, for the best first half for ages all the possession Cardiff were very lucky to keep the score down to one nil at half time Gally seemed to be on top form for me and got stuck in more than usual & showed a lot of bottle Becks busy and unlucky Drinkwater doing a fine job bring on the next team
