purpleronnie Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Lee Clark's record at Huddersfield: 178 games; 87 wins, 51 draws, 40 defeats and no promotions.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 and no promotions. I guess thats what they wanted most of all but only 4 points off automatic and comfortably in the play offs shouldn't he of been given a chance to finish the season? i mean who knows where they would of ended up
Guesty Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 To be fair he has had a lot of money to spend for league 1; enough to get them into automatic promotion, but he hasn't managed it. Then in the play-offs they've bottled it. That coupled with the fact he keeps courting bigger clubs must be the reason, plus If they've got a Grayson or Warnock lined up then I can sort of understand it. Can't understand why he'd want to go to Leeds. If you take away the name and just look at it purely as a club. They've got no money, sell all their best players, only seem to ever get loans in and have a crazy trigger happy chairman. If he has been courting them and it's cost him, he's an idiot. If there is no other reason apart from results and no one else is lined up it's a daft decision.
Leicesterpool Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 maybe Lee was after the Leeds job, fell out with the board over it and got the sack.
ousefox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Bates will be loving how he won't have to pay compensation. Incredible sacking.
Happy Fox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Looks like McCarthy and Warnock are on the agenda for us if NP fails to deliver
Guest shearfox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 maybe Lee was after the Leeds job, fell out with the board over it and got the sack. If he was going Leeds I think they would have wanted compensation, so sacking him wouldnt have made any sense....
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 On SSN: "Lee Clark says he is perplexed and shocked to be sacked by Huddersfield"
Happy Fox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 On SSN: "Lee Clark says he is perplexed and shocked to be sacked by Huddersfield" He is a bullshitter he came to have an interview here without the owner's knowledge, likely that when Leeds were courting for his services he decided he wanted out off Huddersfield.
Head Honcho Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 To be fair to the Huddersfield fans wanting his head. They've been saying it for quite some time and 3 defeats in 55 may look good on paper but the club hasn't progressed in three years. Saying that they should've given him until the end of the season...........unless he orchestrated his own sacking to take up the position at Leeds!

MPH Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Daft Buggers. If they had held on to him few more days could of got a bit of compo from Leeds. saved face too.
munf1987 Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Daft Buggers. If they had held on to him few more days could of got a bit of compo from Leeds. saved face too. I would have thought they still would. They normally have a contract in place if they walk straight into another job, otherwise all managers would quit a job and walk into another job. The club could offer the manager a signing bonus which is alot less than the compo they would need to pay.

jonlcfc1990 Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 I've got to be honest. That doesn't make a lick of sense to me? 1) Lee clark has said he didn't want to go and is shocked to be sacked 2) Huddersfield fought to keep him when clubs came knocking. 3) Why would Huddersfield do Leeds a favour by saving them £££ in comp money or buying him out of his contract? if there going to be in the champ next season surely they'd want money to grow or even use that money to get another manager?
Happy Fox Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 He isn't going to Leeds, Warnock is their new manager. Looks like Clark is in the lurch will Huddersfield reappoint him.

Fox92 Posted 22 February 2012 Posted 22 February 2012 Fantastic player and manager. Hope he gets back in football soon because I have always liked him and he isn't exactly a rubbish manager.
