Yes, and heterosexual couples should be able to have a civil service.

I also think that same sex couples should be able to adopt and raise children, by that I mean be assessed for suitability on the same criteria as heterosexual couples.

You can add join the army, give blood, vote and drive to that list.

At the end of the day, they are just humans, they are just people. In that respect, they are no different to heterosexuals.

Don't see why it shouldn't be allowed.

Now, enough serious talk.

I don't see why i shouldn't be able to get married just because i'm gay, too many people think it would be taking something away from marriage but really marriage is gaining something.

As for the argument 'you can't get married but you can have a civil partnership' that's like saying we can sit in the same room as you but we cant sit at the same table.

You also see many everyday people and celebrity couples getting married after knowing each other for very little time and then getting divorced a few months down the line, yet this is less of a bad image on marriage than two people of the same sex who love each other just as much as any other legitimate couple getting married?

In 2012 we can send people into space, drill the sea's for oil, even clone living things, yet we still haven't come far enough to let same sex couples have the same right to marriage as a straight couple.

Unless you're a deluded religious fanatic I can't possibly see an argument for not allowing it

Never a finer use for the word "this"

I'm not against same sex unions, but there is still a niggling doubt in my mind about gay male couples adopting children . I can't really give a logical and reasoned argument though, so i suppose it is based on no more than some form of selective homophobia .

Being this honest is very admirable at the end of the day it's a new concept it will take some getting used to. There's a great YouTube clip of a gay married couple talking to I say a 6 year old about how thery are "husband and husband" the kid laughs and tells them that's it's funny and that they can still play if they want too. It's really adorable to see it from a child's perspective showing no prejudice no pre thought homophobia or religious indoctrination just a young kid who has no issue with two husbands. Everyone should be seen as equal not in someone's "gods" eyes but us as human beings and until we learn to accept people as equals we never will move on.
