SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 how about some kiwis??? Chris Wood for sure!!! Marco Rojas class quick tricky left winger and only 19...... Great suggestion been wishing we picked up Chris Wood at the end of last season. Rojas is my man, i think he has awesome potential. But being a Victory member and watching him week in week out he needs a couple more years, he is too light and gets pushed off the ball too easily needs to work on his shooting as well.
Kitchandro Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 Centre midfield - Defensive, ball retainer. Centre midfield - Attacking, creative. Left Winger - Pacey and can run at players (better than Dyer), end product is a bonus at this level. Right back - Barely seen anything of Paintsil to suggest he's an adequate back up/competition to Pelts. Striker (possibly) - I think Beckford and Nugent are a great first choice pairing and Beckford will keep improving but a third striker on their level to provide backup and/or competition would be great. I know it's all easier said and done but these would just be ideal. Another important thing I think we have to consider is that the players we bring in should be improvements on what we have now. They need to be better than Dyer, Wellens and Danns. Agree with most of this, though I'd like to see if Moore is good enough for back up. Ideally we'd buy better than Peltier, I don't think he's been particularly good on the whole. As you say, it's no good doing what Sven did and buying players who were designed to be backup for if we had injuries, not actual quality that could hold down a first team spot. Most urgent is the need for a winger. One with real pace and power. Whether Marshall is good enough remains to be seen but we need someone quicker and more direct than him anyway, someone who can take players on on a regular basis. Being a good crosser is not always enough if you can't find your own space, (see Gallagher) And being quick isn't always enough if you're too stupid to use it and struggle to kick the ball properly most of the time (see Dyer). We are pretty hopeless in this position. Second most (narrowly) urgent is our central midfield. Wellens, King and Danns may be good enough to come off the bench but they are too old and slow/regularly ineffective/inconsistent/average/weak to do the business as starters. They all have their uses but they aren't game changers in their general play. I do think at least one of these will have to leave as not all of them can fit on the bench. I see Drinkwater as Wellens' replacement, he's got technical skill and is confortable in possession, he can spot a pass. But he's not going to be a true creative player like Lallana, Hoolahan, Taarabt, Izzet etc. We need one of these players. It's no good just trying to pass through teams every week when they park the bus, it's too difficult. We need someone who can move between the lines and make something happen, i.e skin someone, link up with the strikers, commit defenders, score from distance. The successful teams in this division in recent years have had these kind of players. These two are most important but a holding midfielder, a striker and a right back would not go amiss.
The Guvnor Posted 8 March 2012 Posted 8 March 2012 Bristol City to get relegated so I don't have to endure the Fooking piss taking every time they beat us which is virtually every time

Happy Fox Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 Jay Rodriguez is a very strong shout. Depends what his valuation is probably going to be £4m-£5m which I doubt we will spend, this Vardy lad is the type of player we will go after imo.

Happy Fox Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 THIS Is he a realistic player we could get I thought he was a first teamer for Norwich?
MrSpaM Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 Is he a realistic player we could get I thought he was a first teamer for Norwich? Title of the thread is wish list is it not? i've just always rated him, think he'd be a cracking signing
Happy Fox Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 Title of the thread is wish list is it not? i've just always rated him, think he'd be a cracking signing Of course, he would do well in our team if we could nab him, but priority for me a LW and a defensive midfielder any other additions we make will hopefully improve us for the long arduous season ahead.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 Matt Ritchie-Swindon, Aron Gunnarson-Cardiff, Jamie Mackie-QPR, Nathaniel Clyne-Palace, Craig Noone-Brighton
Guy Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 Cameron Stewart from Hull would be greatobviously, I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Brett Pitman (Bristol City) yet either - unless I've missed it. I know he is a tad injury prone though....
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 9 March 2012 Posted 9 March 2012 That lad in hollyoaks, Riley, plays for a premier league team, Manu I think. I've heard he is very unsettled at the moment, rumour his dad was plowing his girlfriend and his grandpa fell out with his mum and they are not talking. Perhaps tempt him with a move away from up North? Good player apaz
