Jimmy Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 :w00t: I like Nugent but he gets an easy ride compared to others. Beckford just got a standing Ovation from Young live on air
Leicester_Loyal Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 Beckford and Nugent is a partnership that can get us promoted next season. We do not need to change it, these two should be our front two next season, with Schlupp filling in and helping out. We need a target man though.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 Hes been class in 2012, the boys come good.
Jace Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 WHY IS PEARSON STILL PICKING HIM I am absolutely fed up with him getting a place in the team. He may make half decent runs when kasper picks the ball up but: He has a horrendous work rate. He has an awful first touch. He has terrible distribution. He doesn't even challenge for a header. He can't finish. I've seen him play fifteen times this season. EVERY time he's been crap.
Corky Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 Some gave up far too quickly on him. I can see the doubts about him, but I said give him a year, which is a fair amount of time.

Corky Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 Is it though? For a 28 year old not playing in a new country? Yes, a year is a good amount of time, taking into account injuries, changes in personnel etc.
Brooksy Posted 21 March 2012 Posted 21 March 2012 Just 1 goal behind Nugent and linking up quite nicely together. Need to keep them for next season.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Jermaine is in fine goalscoring form at the moment. No away goals all season and then three in two games! He's a funny player is Jermaine. He can be the most infuriating player to watch at times but when he really wants to play well for us and he chases down all the lost causes etc. What an asset to the team he is for us.

It's nice to see him picking it up now that Nugent's tailed off a bit. I'm really starting to believe this could be a class partnership come next season when they've both got their confidence at a peak.
Haydos Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Look at all the people that think he's shit. Just look at them! Aren't they cute, thinking they know everything about football. Bless.
HoustonFox Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Goal scoring comes in streaks. At the moment things that weren't happening for him are now. Happy for the lad as he was getting a lot of (in my opinion) undue stick. Let's hope his scoring run continues for a long time and we can synchronise our attack playing well at the same time as our defence. Clearly this season's promotion is now a pipe dream but (once again) we can be optimistic for next season.
Poakey Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Well chuffed with Beckford, so glad its working now for him.
Jace Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Is it though? For a 28 year old not playing in a new country? He is scoring lots of goals is that not good enough for a striker? He is the top goalscorer in the FA Cup he's not even playing in the top division what more do you want?

He is the top goalscorer in the FA Cup he's not even playing in the top division what more do you want? My point had absolutely nothing to do with his goalscoring. I was questioning Corky's assertion that we should give him a year. If you're going to quote a post, at least go to the trouble of reading it.
Mack Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Go on lads, just admit you were wrong! It wont hurt... much!
seenitall Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Pointless thread this now. Should be changed to 'Mills' so we can get him back in defence and stop leaking goals, come on Nige, time to man up and sort it out
lcfc matt Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 I'm so chuffed for jermaine always wanted him to do well just hope we manage to keep hold of him in the summer and nugent oh and kasper
Bugg Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 There was a moment last night when he chased their winger all the way to left back position and put in a strong tackle. He is getting better and better as his confidence is growing. Long may it continue.
unreachable Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 I'm naturally pleased that Beckford has now started to score league goals but it is unbalanced praise to simply concentrate on his goalscoring prowess without commenting on his inability to otherwise influence the game by keeping possession and harrassing defenders and generally defending from the front. I noticed that Pearson specifically said that defending must start from the front which is not happening at the moment. Beckford may be good in patches but in my book that is not "class" or "quality" it's just sporadic talent which is not good enough in this Division.
seenitall Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Blimey mate, what does your ideal striker have to do? He is playing great at the moment so leave it
