Daggers Posted 17 March 2012 Posted 17 March 2012 For those who did not experience the incident when it happened, there were no players near Muamba when he collapsed. Within 10 or 20 seconds it became apparent that something very serious had happened, and we soon found out that he had stopped breathing. He was treated on the field for almost 10 minutes, with a defibrilator used in an attempt to resuscitate him, before being taken off on a stretcher. Howard Webb took the players off the field, and the game was officially abandoned a few moments later. The last we heard was that Muamba was on his way to hospital, that he was not breathing and that he was still receiving CPR. That was 35 minutes ago. So that's well over ten minutes not breathing, not looking good at all.
21st Century Fox Posted 17 March 2012 Posted 17 March 2012 This is torturous waiting for news. Not many players go back to playing after surviving something like this. It's often an underlying heart condition thats been exacerbated by the rigors of professional sport that could otherwise normally go undetected by you or I for years. He's got the whole footballing community behind him.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 17 March 2012 Posted 17 March 2012 1 minute silence for Muamba tomorrow, has got to happen?!
FrankieADZ Posted 17 March 2012 Posted 17 March 2012 So that's well over ten minutes not breathing, not looking good at all. you can go over 10 mins not breathing, i had the same thing happen to me when I was in hospital. prays go out to him.
