The lowest points for 6th place (when we`ve been in the Championship),since 2000 has been 70 points, meaning we need to win 6 out of the remaining 9, the average for 6th place has been 75pts.....Meaning 8 out of 9 wins

STILL BELIEVE ?????

We have a game in hand on some teams, Brighton and blackpool for example win on saturday against hull and beat forest it's back on,

There will still be some strange results right up until and on the final day of the season, I believe it's going to be very close if we win our next 2 home games

Foxes never quit

You have a form of mental illness.

After being despondent for 24hrs following another shite result you find yourself being drawn to the league table, only to find we are still

only 8pts off the playoffs, whereupon you convince yourself " if only we could win the next few games we might still do it". It's like

groundhog day.

Try taking a sedative and have a lie down.

I don't want to be too optimistic cause we'll only get let down again BUT

Hull (h)

Forest (h)

Pboro (a)

Donny (h)

We SHOULD be winning every one of our next 4 games. I know this is Leicester City so it won't happen but if we can pull it off it is very much back on.

It would not surprise me if we win on Saturday then proceed to take 1point out of the three games after.

So we win the nxt two and everybody is on a high thinking we can do it then loose two and all the shit starts again about who is shite.

Then who should go and sack the manager.

The sooner the maths say we can't the better then people will stop dreaming and get real.

It's been over a long while let it go FFS we would look stupid if we got up we are not strong enough.

We need this closed season to build and go up strong then the nxt closed season to improve further.

Give it up plse FFS

couldnt of put it beeter myself season is over were not good enough at min we need 2 get this season out the way then rebuild in the summer

The trouble is it is all ifs and it has been all season. if we can win two in a row, if we can string together some wins, if we can keep a clean sheet, if we get some wingers we will be sorted, if we could defend set pieces, if the match officials had been better and only given free kicks etc to us, if the opposition weren't the only side that realises the game lasts for a full 90 minutes, if six or more sides above us basically chuck in the towel and do worse than us between now and the end of the season, if only we had someone who consistently took good set pieces, if only we had had a proper pre season, if only we had spent £15 million on new players in the summer who most people on here thought were great signings but largely turn out to be crap oh hang on........

Every time we get a glimmer of hope of breaking into the play-offs it's soon diminished by LCFC as we lose or draw the next game.

if we happen to win the next 4 games, i will take a glance at the table if i have some free time just out of interest of where we stand.

That's just how far we are off play-offs this season. Some people need to wake up...

Bring on next season.

What's the point in being a Leicester fan if you don't remain optimistic? You know you'll get let down but that is the whole point isn't it?

I don't care how shit we've been, in my mind we can still win te next 7 games.

What I don't understand is all the "season over" comments. And even worse "rebuild in the summer". What the **** does rebuild even mean? We don't need to rebuild, we just need to build what we have into something more. Which NP will do.

In the mean time, my fingers crossed. We have 4 wins coming our way....

Anyone know where I can buy the rose tinted glasses from.

Or a half full glass.

Or a bag full of optimism.

This is a weird league so expect the unexpected....

I genuinely believe we can still make it, foxes never quit and I hope the players haven't given up!!! :chant:

the players gave up last September when they realised they might actually have to graft to win promotion.

Just win on Tuesday I don't care about any other result, we need to beat those scumbags.

This + finishing above the sheep.

That's all.

This is still very much present tense and probably will remain as so until there are four games left to play (as opposed to the current nine!). I still like to hark back to this precise time in 1996 when we were just about to win the last seven from eight games at the start of that April under our newish and relatively unpopular manager - a certain M.O'Neill - to reach the play offs versus Stoke then Palace. The rest as they say, is history! While I, like many on here, can't see the current squad doing that (with the general way this season has gone for us - in the play offs frame for one week alone!) - a part of me still thinks back to sixteen years ago - strangely enough at the end of that March following a bad defeat to a team with nothing to play for at the time, namely Sheffield United - and on March 30th we then slumped to , er.......................11th!! I can see the similarities this season at the present juncture......as can many others old enough to remember back then who have decent memory boxes!

*If you're playing the pedant game and by "fan" you literally mean the word fanatic then you have a point. Otherwise you're just being silly if you think supporting a team means being blindly optimistic regardless of obvious fact.

Most of us have simply and begrudgingly accepted that this isn't our season. I don't think anybody's fandom has been rocked in the slightest, and if it has then they weren't a true Leicester supporter in the first place.

**Your mind must be a wonderful place. :)

***See first point.

****As in hit the training ground, rebuild the squad's spirit and bring in a couple of key signings (winger, holding mid, right back to put Pelt on his toes) whilst letting the surplus to requirements players leave (not gonna list them because I know it's a touché subject for some). Basically what you went on to say but in detail.
