Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 I personally can't see why people are picking Jeff Schlupp over Ben Marshall for young player of the season. Jeff Schlupp IMO is way over rated on here, he's made 17 substitute appearances and other than Derby & Birmingham he's had no impact / made no difference. Yes Schlupp is still young and he scored a decent hattrick vs Rotherham but I think giving somebody an award for player of the season for just 2 league starts is crazy. Ben Marshall however has came mid season and despite being young himself has settled well and took everything in his stride. He's scored 4 cracking goals despite putting decent shifts in too. His attacking mentality and his delivery has had a positive impact on the team and we look a much better team with him in the side. For the people that will say "but Schlupp scored 4 goals in the league cup". Beckford scored 6 goals in the FA Cup, so why isn't he being chosen for player of the season? One of those moments we all go to a football match hoping to see - where you walk away from the ground going "wow. That was something special". Astonishing goal. Oh yeah, I forgot "MARCHING ON TOGETHER... der der der der der...." Idiots dont even know the words to their ONLY song. And regarding Player of the Year, no, it's not harsh at all, at least in my opinion. Not one of them has been outstanding, and in fact IMHO they have all under-performed. But, as i say, it's just my opinion.
