nothin2seehere Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 When we eventually make it back to the Premier League, there's only going to be a handful of teams I want to actually watch. Mainly, the top 6, I'm sure you all know who they are so I won't list them. Who cares about Norwich, QPR etc, they've only been up for one season despite what they might have achieved in the past (I haven't done my homework on that front). And of the established Prem clubs like Wigan, Wolves, Stoke... I'd rather watch paint dry. Compare that to the Championship: Forest Cov Derby Cardiff Millwall (don't know why really) Middlesbrough Hull So, the second list is only one bigger, but whatever. Assuming tickets prices go up, and games that I want to watch will be sold out pretty quickly without being a STH, my personal preference is that we stay in the Championship. Anyone else feel this way? n2c
steveherbe Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Me! I reckon the Championship is the best league in the world. Every game is well contested, and we get to laugh at Coventry on a regular basis. Personally, I dont want the premiership with its hiked ticket prices, 12 games a season you write off before a ball is kicked, and the big club/small club mentality shown by the fawning media. Oh, and the army of ever moving plastic fans, who change their allegiances as often as they change their underwear.
Babylon Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 I just go to watch city, the league we are in doesn't bother me. If the good times come then it's a bonus, if we play great football it's a bonus. As times goes on I find myself getting more irritated by the reaction on here to a loss, than the actual loss itself. Which is ridiculous.
James. Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 There's a crazy paradox that blows my little mind when people ultimately don't want us to be successful as that would mean promotion to the Premier League (and all the "negatives" associated with it) but at the same time go to each game hoping that the team win. I think if you want Leicester City to win you simply have to want us to be in the Premier League however shit that is. If you don't want us to be in the Premier League then by definition you must hope for mediocre results. In that sense this season has been a success for this type of supporter?
Dan Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 I got so used to having my hopes shot down this season that I've pretty much accepted another year in the Championship. I think the Championship can be better than this, in-fact it has been, so that's why I'm not too down to have not gone up now (seeing as I told myself after Bristol City at home, bad I know, that we weren't going up). Next year however I'll be different, we simply have to go up. I know the prices are more expensive but to be fair I take the same stance as I have done this year, I paid for West Ham, £32, I know it's pretty bad but value for money I actually think it beats a few places in this league such as £26/£27 for Cardiff, Middlesbrough, Doncaster etc... I'd pay the West Ham price every time simply because it's better quality. Leeds on the other hand at £36 wouldn't pay that in the Prem for what you get. Total joke. I'd love to do some Premier away days, how did our away support in 03/04 compare to now?

Happy Fox Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Name me one single game this season where we have been " sold out " ? Real Madrid
1964FOX Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 There are lot of peple who really enjoyed league one, everyone seemed to enjoy going to the football more and it was a great experience meeting fantastic supporters from lower league clubs. I think more people cold also afford it and the glory boys didn't go (til near the end). Where would I prefer to be undoubtedly the premiership but we are never going to be a regular top tier club, theres just too much competition from numerous other clubs similar to us. You have to learn to enjoy whatever league you are in and hope the added bonus of doing well comes along now and then. I wish we did well every season but being realistic it won't but I support Leicester no matter where we are.
Churchill Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Of course you want to be in the Premiership, playing top 6 sides and the chance of causing an upset, visiting some of the best grounds in the country. Plus if you can't make it to an away match every game is streamed and you don't have to scroll through pages to find a link for one. Oh and match of the day on a Saturday night
nothin2seehere Posted 16 April 2012 Author Posted 16 April 2012 Name me one single game this season where we have been " sold out " ? I meant if we were in the Premier League, ManU/Chelsea etc would be far more likely to sell out. Being a non-STH, that would impact me pretty harshly.

This I enjoyed L1 but wouldn't have wanted to hang around to long, it helped me enjoy my football again after several woeful seasons in the championship, however i'm starting to feel the same about the championship again, but i would prefer to exit it via the top end, not the bottom again. Plus I still need to get to goodison, ashburton grove and stadium of light, done most of the grounds in this division several times over, need some new away days.

Saxondale Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 I do see your point, but you have to want us to strive to be the best we can. When we went up with O'Neill, we'd had a pretty average season in the Champ (or League Div 1 as it was) but we went on to have a very enjoyable season in the Prem, finishing 9th and winning the League Cup. The Championship is great fun, but a lot of that fun derives from striving to make it to the Holy Grail of the Prem.
ealingfox Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Can't say I wouldn't rather we were in the Prem for the glitz and glamour (and to show everyone that we are MASSIVE) but yes the Championship does have its advantages like being able to afford to go and winning more games than we would in the Prem. Our time will come, i'm sure of it.
Grey Fox Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 I just want to see us win games. The league we are in doesn't really bother me. I really enjoyed our league 1 season, compared to the season before when we were in a higher league and losing games, it was far more enjoyable for me, because we won more games. The same can be said when we went up under Micky Adams, compared to the season before when we came down from the prem, it was much better. The fact that winning games means we climb the leagues is just a side effect to me. Its the actual act of winning individual games that I love.
Milton Keynes Fox Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 I'm looking forward to wolves, charlton and the other teams coming next season...
FuriousFox46 Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Like someone else said, I'll support Leicester whatever league we're in. But, there is something more fun about being in the Championship. We don't have to write off games in August and we're competing with teams in which the result could well and truly go either way. I did love being in the Prem and being amongst the country's best. But, I always find getting to the Prem is much more enjoyable than actually being there.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 We are not good enough to be in the Premier League anyway

As times goes on I find myself getting more irritated by the reaction on here to a loss, than the actual loss itself. Which is ridiculous. This, well it's not really true for me I just stay away from here for a few days after a loss hoping sense will have prevailed a few days later. Nice to see the majority still back NP in the poll, I just wish it wasn't the most negative that seem to be the most vocal after a loss, if the proportion of negative comments matched the NP poll 7.5% then this would be a much nicer place. As for the Prem, we are not ready this season, we have proved that time and time again by outplaying teams and not winning. The only thing that might save us from relegation if we some how managed to get promoted this season is that we always play better against teams above us, so there would be 19 teams we would raise our game against.
Happy Fox Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 We cannot survive being in this division with the wages the players are on unless we cut out spending or wages of the players our financial prospects look grim, getting in the prem asap would bring a lot of money and exposure for the Thais.
wellyfox Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 I wish we did't have the money and the moronic fans it seem's to have bought. Ps is it ok to blame Top n Co for that
