Guest Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 what a joke! So an England international like Steve whitworth or david nish doesn't even get a mention but Shinny claridge, OG Sinclair, larry Grayson etc... are in OMG
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 There's a hell of a lot of +1's being thrown out willy nilly on this thread but how can anyone forget..... 12. Paul Brooker
evs_the_fox Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 Whitworth should probably take 2. Nish 3. McLintock 4? He played in 2 FA Cup Finals but I'm going on reputation rather than first-hand experience of seeing him play. Worthington surely 9. Glover at 11 because we can get Heskey in with 23 (94/95 season apparently). Savage 14 over Davidson or Hill. Franz Carr 16 Ullathorne or Wellens 19. Ian Marshall 20 David Lowe 25 Billy McKinlay 32 There's also Arthur Chandler and Rowley to consider... I presume they wore 9 or 10??? Shame they didn't do squad numbers in the 1920s! evs_the_fox's revised squad Gordon Banks / Peter Shilton Steve Whitworth David Nish Frank McLintock / Gerry Taggart Steve Walsh Muzzy Izzet Neil Lennon / Keith Weller Gary Lineker Frank Worthington Davie Gibson Len Glover Matty Fryatt Kasey Keller Robbie Savage Pontus Kaamark Franz Carr Spencer Prior / Steve Thompson Matt Elliott Rob Ullathorne / Richie Wellens Ian Marshall Jamie Lawrence / Graham Fenton Paul Dickov Emile Heskey Steve Guppy David Lowe ?? / Junior Lewis (ha) Tony Cottee ?? Stefan Oakes ?? ?? Billy McKinlay Ben Thatcher ?? ?? ?? Theo Zagarakis Marcus Bent ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? Nikos Dabizas
davieG Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 Might help http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Leicester_City_Squad_Numbers.html
Guest bss9401 Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 Must mention Alan Smith at no 9. Not as technically gifted as Worthington but a world class centre forward in his own right. Him and Lineker up front, the best pairing in my lifetime.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 GORDON BANKS, by a mile. DAVIE GIBSON, inside left
Vlad the Fox Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 Andy Peak, Ian Wilson, Kevin MacDonald, Gary McAllister, Bob Hazel, Tommy Williams, Mike Whitlow, Alan Paris (Delbert), Tony James, Ian Banks. Mark Wallington.
Kitchandro Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 Like the idea of the thread But then by the fourth or fifth post it's a joke Worthington 86 (Realistic but praps a little low) Heskey 99. Yes heskey was a good player but 99 ffs nooooo way. We may not have had better since he left but just in my life time we had a fvcking site better before him. There you go
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 Because no one ever plays in 35, I think Nugent has to feature!
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 I think all posters should list there age as well no Lennon? Stan the Man or Mancihini or how ever you spell it, let alone Banks Glover Liniker
The People's Hero Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 The problem with this is that someone like Arnar cocking Gunnlaugson will be the best number whatever 37 or some crap and Matt Heath the best 26 or whatever. I doubt if Levi Porter however is even the best player in his own family.
The People's Hero Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 And we must have had a better 16 than Franz Carr. Although I do love Franz Carr. So ignore that. Oldfield, Agnew and Thompson all missing.
cc_star Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 Please let Ian Ormandroyd have worn a unique number... Although I'm almost certain it was just standard 11 7. Joachim 9. Les Ferdinand 14. Robbie Savage 18. Garry Parker & Ian Walker 27. Guppy 38. Marcus Bent
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 I think all posters should list there age as well no Lennon? Stan the Man or Mancihini or how ever you spell it, let alone Banks Glover Liniker I agree. Most posters have never seen the very best players.
Narborough_fox Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 Surely 7 has to go to Keith Weller, from what my dad has said to me one of the greatest players to play in Leicester blue! 32 - Zsolt Laczko, his performance against Coventry was amazing...
Trav Le Bleu Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 There's also Arthur Chandler and Rowley to consider... I presume they wore 9 or 10??? Shame they didn't do squad numbers in the 1920s! A very good point, but just to point out, they didn't start doing squad numbers until the 90s and even then, only in the Prem, with the Championship following a few years later. So we had squad numbers the first time we were in the Prem, but not when we got relegated (think it was just for one season - then they came in at league 1/championship (all?) level.)
