reynard Posted 23 April 2012 Posted 23 April 2012 Nah i am just willing to move with the times I am 22 not 62 so I have no axe to grind or any wish for "the good old days" when every team was broke and no football was televised. Or a time when sides like Forest or Derby could win the league or Ipswich do really well. All sides the same size as us. Sky may have brought a lot of money into the game but in many ways it is less interesting and you could make a valid argument they have caused a lot of damage especially to lower league clubs. They have created a financial disaster area in the championship with the ridiculous distribution of money meaning the clubs in the premier league get richer and richer whilst everyone else gets more and more into debt and risks going out of business. Football was televised but was on free tv so anyone could watch it without having to pay extra. Personally I think it very unhealthy for football that sides like united can no longer ever really be relegated. Frankly at the moment sides like ours will never have a genuine chance of making the top 4 in the premier league and that is a great shame.
steveherbe Posted 23 April 2012 Posted 23 April 2012 My team tomorrow would be Jones Pike Frasier Godfrey Walker Sponge Hodges Square Vicar Wilson Mainwaring How can you play Jones in goal? You stupid boy, Pike is the goalie (see what I did there?) And, I still dont think Howard would get in this team, even though he's the right age.

Only last night I wrote something along similar lines... http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/75583-premiership-thread-201112/page__st__2460#entry2221156 I've just realised it might sound like I think you've copied me. I don't, of course. It's just a coincidence. I couldn't agree more. Well said.
Ric Flair Posted 23 April 2012 Posted 23 April 2012 Excited to see Waghorn blaze a few decent opportunities over the bar tonight.
Stevosevic Posted 23 April 2012 Posted 23 April 2012 Excited to see Waghorn blaze a few decent opportunities over the bar tonight. Almost a certainty. Also going to be Howard's last appearance at the Walkers. I will give him a decent send off, but please don't start him Pearson.
KidKunny Posted 23 April 2012 Posted 23 April 2012 Excited to see Waghorn blaze a few decent opportunities over the bar tonight. I doubt he'll come back in the team, but if he does he'll only replace Howard? And may not even feature in the game, probably for the best really , joke. Although I wouldn't mind him making an appearance.
KFS Posted 23 April 2012 Posted 23 April 2012 We need to win this tonight, or i'm subject to abuse of the highest order. Where I live is a breeding ground for claret and blue scumbags and i'd absolutely love it if we were to end their automatic promotion contention! COYB! Ps. Big Sam is a cvnt.
Jace Posted 23 April 2012 Posted 23 April 2012 Howard Howard - Howard - Howard - Howard Howard - Howard - Howard - Howard Howard - Howard LETS DO IT! If only this was possible no one would enjoy playing against this team!
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 23 April 2012 Posted 23 April 2012 Excited to see Waghorn blaze a few decent opportunities over the bar tonight. Were you saying that under NP the 1st time round when he led the line on his own and did a super job.... Scored important goals.... NO didnt think so!
davieG Posted 23 April 2012 Posted 23 April 2012 Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson tells BBC Radio Leicester that fit-again strikers Martyn Waghorn and Darius Vassell could both play a part in the remaining two games of the season.
Ric Flair Posted 23 April 2012 Posted 23 April 2012 Were you saying that under NP the 1st time round when he led the line on his own and did a super job.... Scored important goals.... NO didnt think so! Yes I was. Waghorn is an abysmal finisher. It takes him 5 chances to score. If he can get back to the form he had under Pearson the first time around then he might offer us something, but if he's as bad as he was last season then i'll be ducking for cover when he pulls the trigger.

goose2010 Posted 23 April 2012 Posted 23 April 2012 If waggy's back people sitting in sk1 (and parts of sk2 and 3) before the game please use crash hats provided under your seats.
vandamman Posted 23 April 2012 Posted 23 April 2012 Shooting aside, would you say Waggy has a better first touch than Beckford? I would like to see Waggy get a run out, he has drive and looks to take people on.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 23 April 2012 Posted 23 April 2012 I would say give the kid a break!!! He's a young English player thats had a torrid season with injury. Before that he was playing for his country at under 21 level so obviously got talent which we know from before plus he's a developing player that needs time to get better
Ric Flair Posted 23 April 2012 Posted 23 April 2012 Shooting aside, would you say Waggy has a better first touch than Beckford? I would like to see Waggy get a run out, he has drive and looks to take people on. Fred West has got a better first touch than Beckford! Waghorn at times scored some great goals but he also rifled some absolute sitters, miles over the bar and wide and left me in disbelief. Perhaps he can improve on that, his all round play shows some promise but he needs to refind his talent as he's had 2 bad years with form and injuries.
