Vardy signs today

yeah but look at his potential and his young, plus he has been looked at by a number of club`s! could have been worse if we got in a bidding war!

At 25 he needs to fulfil his potential sharpish. I'm for signing him, but we can't keep harping on about him being young with potential

Can we officially sign and announce him today? I didn't think the window was open yet....

Pretty sure it just means the deal goes through on the first day of the window?

He's 24 which is hardly that young in football terms and only played one season in the Conference. For us to pay that amount, it's almost certain we were in a bidding war. We bought Wellens for a similar amount after promotion, who was a top tier player by League One standards and had played a full season in the Championship already. Considering that NP won't get anywhere near the same amount available as Sven, it just seems a bit risky.

I fvcking love the expectation and excitement of pre season!!! Let's not get miserable or start questioning the validity of the sourse let's just roll with it and enjoy the ride!

Vardy! Vardy! Vardy!

Sure looks like he knows how to finish his one on ones.. Unlike fryatt

I've been to watch Fleetwood about 6 or 7 times this season and he is undoubtably their best player - really quick - when they played Tamworth their manager said he was the best player he'd ever seen playing non league football

Still think Pearson will spend more than people think.

To be fair if you just had a video of fryatt scoring and didnt include any misses he would look like he could finish one on ones too.

EDIT: to be fair I would look good if it was just a video of me scoring.

Sorry the point I was trying to make is that all of the goals look like he has the pace and ability to finish his one on ones.

It can be announced today but not officially completed until July 1st.

Makes more sense, fair point. Looks very good to me, but it is only a video and the defenders are crap.

what announced by the club officially aswell?

Yes can be announced today but not completed till the 1st July....

the defending can be shit in the champ but the standard in that vid was appalling. not the cleanest finishes either. 500k would have done me but obviously there's lots of interest in him.

I love signings like this, Michael Morrison springs to mind and he was decent. Beckford was another (I think) and I'm sure there's one or two more who came from non league and done well.

Less pressure this way.

A million quid for a player close to the peak of his career who's done nothing but score a few in non league.

Woo hoo!
