Bettsy82 Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 I wouldn't want Vardy thrown into the first team next season. I do not want to see Waghorn's name in the starting eleven at all next season. If Heskey came I would assume he's going to be plan B from the bench. So I disagree and actually wouldn't want just those strikers next season.
Bettsy82 Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 Vardy will definetly be in Pearsons first 11 in my opinion. I think he will surprise a lot of people next season I'm convinced Beckford will go. Hope he doesn't but we just have too many strikers.
Bettsy82 Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 Has anybody else thought that maybe the Thais have instigated this possible Heskey signing finally the high profile signing they have craved.
Carl the Llama Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 Far too early for Panayiotou, Schlupp is clearly not going to start and would be far better going out on loan to a strong League One club, it's pretty obvious to all and sundry that Waghorn has no major future at a team pushing for promotion (though I'd love him to prove me wrong) and there's no certainty Beckford will be here come August (though I hope he is.) I agree with all that, but i think Waghorn might be a handy squad player. I'll be shocked if Beckford's still here when the season starts, Panayiotou will almost certainly be reserves or loaned out, and Schlupp could be backup or loaned out. That would mean Nugent, Heskey (if we get him), Vardy, Waghorn and maybe Schlupp for the first team, which I don't think is bad at all. I think (/hope?) you might be wrong about Beckford but let's say he does leave and it's pretty much agreed that Pana's a plan C at best There's still Waghorn, Vardy, Nuge, Schlupp, Marshall and (to a lesser degree) Dyer. I also think the assessment of Waghorn as surplus to requirements is a bit hasty and would like to see him get a chance at least from the bench. Vardy, a new signing at 25 years old, isn't quite the fresh-to-the-scene youngster some think he is and Pearson will be certainly expecting him to be able to help out from the get-go, even if as a sub, although I think as a starter is more likely. Nuge is a shoe-in. And I haven't even mentioned Schlupp yet. So I don't think we need Heskey at all but he is free so we're only paying wages which, to be fair, I don't think he has great bargaining power on so it could be nice to have him back as an experienced back-up if we need to change our playing style in a match. But I firmly believe he shouldn't be starting with the talent at our disposal.
Sods Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 To those that are saying he is has passed it, the big guy hasn't played this level since 1996. He isn't Steve Howard, I loved big Steve but he was of the pace this season, and in all fairness Heskey has played at the highest level. For me Heskey has at least a season at this level, its a no brainer we need someone that can head it up front. He is experienced, he isn't a big time charlie and I think he will want one big challenge at his home town club.
Sods Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 Has anybody else thought that maybe the Thais have instigated this possible Heskey signing finally the high profile signing they have craved. No because the high profile signing will be someone that the Thais can sell shirts for back in Thailand. Someone like Beckham.

This and there is a fair few people on this forum who don't know what there talking about when it comes to football, or they haven't played the game at a high standard. Heskey isn't passed it at all, I agree we do need an experienced head on the field. Heskey would create so much space for the likes of Beckford, Nugent, Vardy, King, Dyer he would be unplayable.
Bettsy82 Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 No because the high profile signing will be someone that the Thais can sell shirts for back in Thailand. Someone like Beckham. Yeh but this is probably the highest profile player we could realistically sign who is available at this moment in time.
Jace Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 Heskey would be a good addition and would fit in very well if played behind Nugent and Beckford
Daggers Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 It seems like Fez is one of the few who actually noticed how Heskey has performed for Villa.
Carl the Llama Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 It seems like Fez is one of the few who actually noticed how Heskey has performed for Villa. At Villa: 108 matches, 16 goals, 5 assists. Last season: 28 matches, 1 goal, no assists. And you still think he can have a huge impact for us? As I said in my previous post, it could be nice to have him back for morale reasons, but only as an experienced backup. Edit: The stats.

Nugent's Premier League record wasn't that good, should we get rid of him? It's not the BPL, Heskey will have a big impact in the Championship, no he isn't going to get a massive number of goals but he is exactly the sort of striker we need. Not to mention the fact that he can have a great impact on Waggy/Schlupp/Hopper/Harry and the other young strikers at the club. And if the worst does come to the worst then Nigel won't pick him and Emile can get a decent wage from the owners, he deserves to get his money back now we're in a better financial position.
Thefoxman Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 are we sure it was him at the kp yesterday? As he is in Monaco

Thefoxman Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 oh dear. we need to ask some man utd fans how to put the cork back in the bottle. he's at the racing circuit Monaco for the grand prix!

jock2612 Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 Does anyone know when he will make up his mind! I assume this was not on NP original list of targets as EIH situation was unknown, and or does anyone think JB has deff decided to leave.

flowwolf Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 will someone tell me why people are calling emile bruno? Because just like sacha Baron's character of the same name he's a bit camp.
bluesbrothers Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 Even if he does look like Frank Bruno, i couldn't sing that name. For me, somebody who can only just remember first hand being a kid and witnessing his first spell at the club, there's only one Bruno i associate with Leicester and he retired this season. That said, i hope he does sign! Heskey's Coming Home!
Guest ttfn Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 Heskey would be a good addition and would fit in very well if played behind Nugent and Beckford That would be a woeful set up. Heskey should be played as the furthest man up the pitch. Great signing if it comes off; has the potential to do the same job for us as Roberts did for Reading.
Toffee_Fox Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 Didn't say anything about him being at the KP? Contract is on the table, his contract with Villa runs till 30th June, even though they have told him it won't be renewed. He can only verbally agree a deal for now as any contract he agrees can't be signed till 1st July due to him being a free agent. So don't be expecting a picture of him holding up a shirt any time soon.
