Doubt he will do much good, but hopefully he will come home.

Will be nice to see him back in a Leicester shirt.

1 year deal is a good call aswell, see how he goes, surely gotta be better than Steve Howard aswell

Fingers crossed he signs

I was thinking, he might reject us for only offering him a year, but I can't see any other team offering him a 2 year deal?

Help his hometown club get promotion or sit on the bench for fodder in the prem?

That is about as funny as aids.

This sums it up for me.

Bruin Quote

But if two international partners like Tony Cottee & Michael Owen insist he is the best partner they have ever played with, who the **** is some random piss-taker with the IQ of a cerebrally deficient chaffinch to tell us Bruno has been over-rated all his playing days?

The author is a prize ****.

An intellectually bankrupt and humour by-passed twat trying to be funny. About as hard-hitting as a rolled-up paper pellet, flicked of the palm of my hand.

I knew it. Will this club ever learn from its mistakes?

I hope this is the truth lol - I'm not sure he'll accept 1 year though............. I think he'll want two.

Are you being serious? He will know how fortunate he is being able to rely on us to come up with the goods when no one else will. I despair I really do.

Signing heskey will sell a lot more shirts than chasing after a foreign has been like last season.... Nigel really is exerting his influence :)

He'll be quality in this division next year - you don't know what you are on about - he was the best player in an England shirt two years ago last summer.

Welcome home Emile.

Is everyone actually unaware of how bad he's been the past few seasons at Villa?

People say he will help Nugent and our midfield to score goals, well how come that didn't happen at Villa? The most inept team in the division for goals and were so lucky to survive the drop.

Heskey isn't shit for FFS, he will do a job in a target man role which is what we need if we lump up the ball, if people seriously think he will be on the same level as Howard you are in for a shock Heskey is a 100 times better.

Are you unaware that was in the premier league against better players and teams?

Maybe he isnt good enough for that level any more but i'm sure he is good enough for second tier football.

Clearly, but I would go as far as saying there is very little difference in quality between the bottom half of the Premiership and the top half of the Championship. If people are expecting a transformation then you're in for a huge letdown.

Lets be honest... it was Villa... and they are going to remain to be shit until they experience the Newcastle treatment and get relegated and rebuild... relegation this season would of done them a massive favour!

I'm with Snow, everyone's looking at the move through their rose-tinteds which fail to take into account the last 4 seasons.

King Kenny will be the first to tell you that nostalgia isn't a blueprint for success.

Option of another year at the end of it.... IF he takes it.

What are you talking about?

Villa have been mis-managed by one of the most inept premier league manager's of all time, that's hardly Emile's fault.

As for what he could do for us? It's a division lower with defence that are far worse than the Prem for a start, secondly I don't really see him starting too many (although he might), but the job he can do in recieving the ball is immense compared to Howard, the carthorse people have cheered for the past 3 years.

Here's some Opta stats from a game near the end of the season

Now imagine him coming on and doing a job like that for us, would be perfect if we're holding on to a lead, would be perfect if we need the midfield to be able to get forward & press for a winner

With nothing up front to pay... and his wages being paid for by shirt sales in Bankok airport... We'd be crazy to miss out on someone who could do a job like Emile can.

Is he the second coming? No! Could he do a good job? yes!

Emile Heskey & Les Ferdinand are the only 2 players in Premier League history to score 100+ goals without scoring a penalty. Not bad really he does score goals and his link up play is fantastic, i really think he will do well for us IF he signs!

Peeps seem to forget that his experience will invaluable to the young striker : Blyth, Schlupp, Hopper etc, would you rather have Howard giving tips or Heksey I would go with the later.
