Rocket-Ron Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 Now being stalked by Yahoo "We hate Facebook We hate Google But who the fuck are Yahoo"
AyewJoking Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 I'm not seeing it. Its a new low when even facebook doesnt want to know you.
Leicester_Numan Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 Also: Facebook (1) Does FoxesTalk have a Facebook page, if so it probably means that 1 person is viewing the topic on Facebook. I don't have a Facebook account and don't want one so I can't check
Trav Le Bleu Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 The thread title sounds like it might be the title of an investigative documentary.

ozleicester Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 wow, Facebook now at $21.71 a share.... valued at less than $50 Billion. Half what it listed at. amazing times
MooseBreath Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 Amazing that it's still so high? It's already being realised that adverts on the site aren't very effective. People are getting wise to the fact that it's a data harvesting website. Recent changes to the site have all been met with negative reactions from users. They don't appear to have the innovation ability of google. It's going nowhere but down until it reaches a sensible value.
Out Foxed Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 ghostery is a great little app. still a few little ****ers that get through though. if you are using firefox u can tick the box not to be tracked. just means you have to sign in everywhere every time.
Matt Posted 26 August 2012 Posted 26 August 2012 Tried searching for the actual Facebook thread but it doesn't seem to appear on any searches, anyway; I had a problem viewing photos about a year ago, certain photos showed up others didn't, including my own photos, so it's not as if someone else had blocked me from viewing the certain photo and it was everyone not just one or a few people. In an album of say 40 photos I wouldn't be able to view a good 5 - 10 photos. I was experiencing the problem for a few months, did searches on how to fix it, asked on here - No-one else seemed to have the problem on here, eventually I found that changing your security settings on Facebook fixed the problem - The secure browsing bit, you can enable secure browsing and disable secure browsing. Well i've got the same problem again, I can't view certain photos, it's doing my head in - Especially when I can even view my own flaming photos, I've tried messing about with enabling/disabling the secure browsing that trick doesn't seem to work this time though, I was just wondering if anyone else has a similar problem at the moment?
21st Century Fox Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 Does anyone now whether Facebook actually trawls through your private messages looking for keywords? Because I've started to notice things that a friend and I have been discussing starting to be advertised down the right-hand side. I particularly noticed a gig we were discussing going to is now being advertised. The only other way I can think that they could've got that information was that I 'liked' that particular artist and I was once tagged in that particular city and they put two and two together to target their adverts. The timing seems pretty suspicious though.
Saxondale Posted 5 November 2012 Posted 5 November 2012 It isn't. You'd be mad to buy shares at issue price. I predict they'll drop 90% within 18 months. And you can quote me in 18 months time. wow, Facebook now at $21.71 a share.... valued at less than $50 Billion. Half what it listed at. amazing times Ahem. I stand by my prediction.

I think you're right , didn't the same thing happen to Friends Reunited ? Today its worth $90 billion, going down...next stop "my space" values wow, Facebook now at $21.71 a share.... valued at less than $50 Billion. Shares of the world's leading social network closed the Nasdaq trading day on Tuesday at $US58.51, shedding a few cents in after-hours trade. It's more than triple the social network's lowest share price in the $US17 range in September 2012 and significantly higher than its IPO price of $US38. Investor confidence in Facebook has been bolstered by the company's aggressive mobile strategy, which included monetising the platform through sponsored posts and ads. In Australia, Facebook has over 12 million monthly active users on its network, 7.3 million of whom are accessing it on their mobiles daily. Sandberg owns about $US750 million ($A854.02 million) worth of Facebook stock and is said to have sold about $US300 million worth of shares since the California-based company became a publicly traded company in May of 2012. The 44-year-old former Google executive is also reported to have stock options for nearly five million shares that began vesting last year. The social media giant started by Mark Zuckerberg, which now has more than 1.1 billion users around the globe with 669 million on mobile, had a rocky debut after it went public at $US38 a share with a valuation of $US16 billion. Facebook shares dropped below $US20 during the ensuing months and only climbed back over their offer price in July of last year. Zuckerberg, who will turn 30 in May, has a personal fortune estimated at about $US19 billion. Facebook will release its quarterly earnings figures next week.
MC Prussian Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 I'm somewhat bemused by people suggesting that in order to avoid tracking by Facebook we should use Chrome, a Google browser. It's not like they're not keen on data collection themselves. No matter what you do, you'll always leave a trace behind.
Fox92 Posted 23 January 2014 Posted 23 January 2014 Anyone seen that prediction that in three years hardly anyone will be using it? Not sure how they make that prediction, but I get where they are coming from. I'm usually on for 10minutes max before logging back out. Don't upload any images or post status', which others on my friends list seem too do quite regular actually, and half of them posted are annoying anyway. Never ever got the fact people constantly post where they are, just to show other people. I'm like, get off Facebook and enjoy what you're doing.

Never ever got the fact people constantly post where they are, just to show other people. I'm like, get off Facebook and enjoy what you're doing. Yeah, I've heard about that report. I joined Facebook somewhere in 2005 I think, when it was still quite "geeky" and new and fresh and whatnot. I've never been a big fan of uploading pictures of myself or boasting about where I am on a regular basis. My main interest is in sharing pictures of landscapes or cityscapes with others, taking on a different angle on common surroundings. I don't see the point in trying to show off online. I know people who're so addicted to promoting themselves on Facebook (not just women) that it spoils a big part of the fun for me. Facebook for me started out as being a means of communication with friends abroad and hearing how they're doing (through their statuses). Sometimes, I get the chance to congratulate them on an achievement or help with some advice. But that's it. Luckily, the young, simple and egocentric have lost appetite for and interest in Facebook for most part and have turned to Twitter.
