Peterborough report Gianni Paladini over alleged illegal approach for Darren Ferguson by Nottingham Forest

Peterborough United are reporting Gianni Paladini to the Football League after alleging that he has made an illegal approach for Darren Ferguson on behalf of Nottingham Forest.

Peterborough United are reporting Gianni Paladini to the Football League after alleging that he has made an illegal approach for Darren Ferguson on behalf of Nottingham Forest.

Paladini, who is understood to have claimed he was representing the Al-Hasawi family who are in takeover negotiations with Forest, has been accused of tapping up Ferguson, the Peterborough manager, and the Championship club are determined to take action.

Peterborough have confirmed they will submit an official complaint to the League regarding Paladini's conduct on Monday, while chairman Darragh MacAnthony is also cutting short a family holiday in the Bahamas to return home and begin an internal investigation.

Paladini, the former QPR chairman who made a significant impression in the documentary 'QPR: The Four Year Plan', is understood to have approached Ferguson even though the Al-Hasawi's are still yet to complete their takeover.

It is also believed the Kuwaiti multimillionaires are reluctant to dismiss Steve Cotterill, who guided the club to survival last season, at this stage which would render Paladini's actions even more bizarre.

I'm still waiting to here some reasons why Forest would be attractive for foreign investors.

Bearing in mind Nottingham is a crap city and Forest have very little potential, as the bulk of their history and average fanbase would suggest.

To be fair, you can't deny their history... There are some big clubs in our division (Ipswich, Derby, Huddersfield all for example) but not many of these clubs have a history like Nottingham Forest (and Leeds)... Forest, for example, have won the First Divison, FA Cup, League Cup, Community Shield, European Cup/Champions League, UEFA Super Cup. Of course, they arn't that big worlwide nowadays, but they are a big club. The fanbase is above average, on of the better in the division, and the City Ground is a big ground already. Also, the club are based in one of the County's biggest Cities.

Don't understand why they are apparently going for Darren Ferguson though.

Strong rumours abound that it's all done and we have new foreign overlords, as seems to be the fashion these days.

Now all that remains is to sack Cotterill before he signs Varney on a long and annoying contract.

4 year contract worth £30k a week, so I`v heard.

You need local rivalries to survive in the Prem, and when they get more and more intense the teams seem to benefit

You can look at the Promotions of Leicester and Derby in recent times as perfect examples, and also when we crashed out after our glory.

Would certainly make for some great games, and to add more spice to our slightly confused rivalries

Stoke, Swansea and Norwich don't seem to be doing too badly - hardly pining for their neighbours at all. Why should we be any different?

Those 'racist' chants will be awkward now.

Ok so that's Leeds, I'm still waiting to here some reasons why Forest would be attractive for foreign investors.

If only Leicester was half as nice

McLeish, McCarthy, Warnock, Satan, a sofa, McClaren, Megson, Platt, Kinnear, Bassett, Big Ron

Anyone but Cotterill.

And Forest fans thought Cotterill was boring

It's not so much his dullness that irks. It's his being a shit manager that annoys people. Not shit in a poor for this level kind of way, shit as in the same way I'd be shit at managing a large corporation. Nothing about him gives me the impression he's any better then a bloke just, 'giving it a go'.

I rekon McLeish would be decent. Got Birmingham up from this level, they were fairly organised. Conceded just 37 in that season as well.

It is done.

Fawaz AL Hasawi @ Fawaz_alhasawi

We have successfully completed the purchase club Nottingham Forest have we become landlords and formally thank my older brother Abdul Aziz Ali and Omar Hasawi except what its effort

Now we just need some players.

So he could swoop for Varney, a snip at 5m? Bugger that. If this lot don't get shot of that buffoon, by the morning at the latest I'll be gutted.

There's talk of Mick McCarthy, but as with all these things, it's just talk at the minute.
