Corky Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 Andy Carroll on, he'd have scored that chance Rooney missed (but also missed that chance Rooney scored, in the interests of balance).
Jon the Hat Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 We are going to need a rest till Sunday they way they are still running.
MooseBreath Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 Disappointed not to have buried this on the break
Leicfox Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 Excellent professional performance that was never in doubt. We shit um. :englandsmile4wf:
Guest Bilo Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 The fans have been superb tonight. Absolutely delighted to see England win the group, I didn't even fancy us to qualify at the start if I'm honest but Hodgson has done good things. Keep it up boys.

pSinatra Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 2 wins, a draw & we're through!! As far as England are concerned in major tournaments......that has been reasonably comfortable.
Vacamion Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 Shevchenko to a nodding Terry at the end there: 'So what did you call Anton Ferdinand?'
vandamman Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 Pleased with that performance, good all round effort from all, each stuck to their jobs well. I think we can be more clinical and better on the ball but at least we haven't peaked yet. I think we stand a good chance against Italy, at least we know they wont bombing forward full throttle which will suit us. Kudos to Parker tonight, so much running!
Legend_in_blue Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 That was something that NP will surely aspire to defensively with us this season. It was very Pearson-like that performance.
Webbo Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 Well the experts who predicted we wouldn't get out of the group have been proved wrong again. The people waiting to dance on our grave will go to bed disappointed. Italy or Spain who cares? Neither would be an easy game. Italy certainly won't be a walk over. PS Terry and Gerrard joint MOTM.
Jaspa Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 Italy then We looked poor throughout, and a good side would of torn us a new one playing like that, besides all that I was pleased with Parker and Johnson, Parker asserted dominance on the midfield and Johnson just carries on getting harder to beat. Onwards and Upwards

Onwards and Upwards Hardly - I would say we have been steady throughout and any way France the most in form team on the planet did not tear us apart. I agree with the rest
Brown Fox Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 Listen to that ovation for Sheva. They obvs never saw him play for Chelsea.... Or they saw him play against us in the cup..
shen Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 Well done to the English! It was a potentially very tricky group although I never fancied the Swedes. I think you'll edge past Italy in quarters too. It's not pretty but Roy's getting the right results.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 Make you own luck as some people would say As if we got a dodgy decision in our favour.
lcfcsnow Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 That was something that NP will surely aspire to defensively with us this season. It was very Pearson-like that performance. I'm frothing with excitement.
Vacamion Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 Italy are a tough proposition but we have a shot. If Rooney plays, he needs to finally show up and dominate. Even if we go out on Sunday, Woy has done a job in the short time he has had in charge. Not an exciting, white knuckle, flair job, but a job, nonetheless.
