Ric Flair Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 I think we'll win this 2-1 but still come 2nd in the group. I'd take that, even if it will mean Spain in the QF. There's no reason to fear anyone, even if we're so ill prepared to most in this tournament.
SystonFox Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 selfishly i hope we do finish second in the group so a draw will suffice. if we top it i will miss the quarter final on the sunday due to being at radio one hackney weekend.
whoareyaaa Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 Can see us not qualifying myself Knowing England that will likely be the case.
NiftyFox Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 Not sure how true this is but I've heard if both us and France win England will come top as FIFA rankings is ahead of goal difference for the new rules, anyone support this claim?

Equality of points after the group matches 8.07 If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied, in the order given; to determine the rankings: a) higher number of points obtained in the matches among the teams in question; b) superior goal difference in the matches among the teams in question (if more than two teams finish equal on points); c) higher number of goals scored in the matches among the teams in question (if more than two teams finish equal on points); d) superior goal difference in all the group matches; e) higher number of goals scored in all the group matches; f) position in the UEFA national team coefficient ranking system (see Annex I, paragraph 1.2.2); g) fair play conduct of the teams (final tournament); h) drawing of lots. 8.08 If two teams which have the same number of points, the same number of goals scored and conceded play their last group match against each other and are still equal at the end of that match, the ranking of the two teams in question is determined by kicks from the penalty mark (Article 16), provided no other teams within the group have the same number of points on completion of all group matches. Should more than two teams have the same number of points, the criteria listed under paragraph 8.07 apply.
Tielemans63 Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 I think we'll win 2-1 and the French will win 3-0. Then we'll get gubbed by Spain!
CloudFox Posted 17 June 2012 Posted 17 June 2012 I was quite worried about Ukraine from the Sweden game with Chevy in the form he was in, but after their game against France? Hmmm. Still going to be a threat I think, especially with them being on home turf. Their fans are going to be deafening!! As for the France v Sweden game, Ibrahimovic should cause France some serious problems with his strength up against their centre-backs, but I think France might still be too strong. Would be good for them to get a draw and us win though . If we do get through, I'd rather face Italy or Croatia than Spain . On a side note, I'm sure that I'm being incredibly cheeky, but is there any chance that anyone is recording the England v Ukraine match, or would be willing to, and then upload it, please? My Dad's away in Asia for work this whole week you see, so isn't going to get the chance to watch it unfortunately . I thought it might be nice to send him the recording of it, and get him to try and avoid the result, so he gets to watch it a bit later as a sort of late Father's Day present. Would anyone be willing to help me out? I would be ridiculously grateful!
Jaspa Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Would everyone here start Rooney ? Id bring him off the bench if I were in charge, give him a real reception to the Tournament and gauge his full impact on the team; it would also say to him that he is never fully guaranteed a start. Ukraine will be a very hard team to play against in that stadium, if they lose, they're pretty much out, as the last host nation Alot of teams could slip up here, will be a great test and what looks like a prospect of another great game :fc:
ozleicester Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Must win for Ukraine... draw will do us... difficulty in holding a lead... slightly suspect at the back... Rooney back, all leads to one thing.... 3-3 or 4-4 draw get your $ on now
AyewJoking Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Rooney will be chomping at the bit to play in this one, bit like a naughty schoolboy who has been kept in detention at lunch whilst all the other boys are out playing.
Nick Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 I think spain may go out tonight.......... Croatia 2-1 and Italy to smash Ireland............. You heard it here firstish
Finnegan Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 I think spain may go out tonight.......... Croatia 2-1 and Italy to smash Ireland............. You heard it here firstish Have you been getting high with El Empty? Spain by two, comfortably.

If not you'll be able to download it off any torrent site like piratebay
MC Prussian Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 The question of all questions: Which team doesn't want to play Spain the Quarter Finals?
Guest ttfn Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Knowing England that will likely be the case. In the last 25 years, England have needed something from their final group game in 1990, 1992, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2010. Only in 1992 and 2000 did they not get what they needed (or more). So if anything, it would be very much unlike England to not get a result.
CloudFox Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 It will probably be on bbciplayer or itvplayer anyway. If not you'll be able to download it off any torrent site like piratebay Cheers, yeah I thought piratebay would be the next best bet to recording it some way or another. I would guess that it will end up on itv player, true, but the problem is he lives in the U.S., so it's not like he can access it when he comes back from Asia, as obviously you can't us it outside of the U.K. Thanks and kudos for the reply! Much appreciated.

CloudFox Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Well you can - proxies, VPN's etc. Okay, well I see your point. I wasn't aware that proxies would work with iplayer or itv player? Sure I've tried that in the past and it had a paddy. Thanks for the advice though, I'll try and get him to give it a shot
