Cardiff haven't been lucky, they've no doubt had a few games when the result has been better than the performance but you don't go 10 points clear without playing well most of the time.

To suggest they've been lucky would smack of bitterness.

They play *just* well enough and i'm well aware that sounds silly.

They're quite happy to just score one and ride out the game.

You'd think so, looking at the table, wouldn't you? Yet somehow Cardiff have shat in the face of logic with drab performance after drab performance. Admittedly I haven't watched every single one of their games, but it can't be a coincidence that I've never watched a Cardiff match and thought "Cardiff looked really good today".

Yeh, they're not lucky, I only saw the last half hour of their game today but they never really looked in trouble.

They're just very uninspiring. They're very good at killing the game and breaking up play.

They grind out results consistently. Cardiff fans admit they've not really played well and many teams to have played them say the same. They are very good away from home at getting a goal on the counter and defend resolutely. They'll more than likely win the league but I don't they'll be regarded as the best side in the division.

It does seem that way at times, but they've won 20 matches, and I doubt they've looked drab in all of those, because it would've caught up with them by now.

Surely it gets worse as the season goes on though?

The other week it looked absolutely ridiculous and it was clearly stopping them playing and it fell into Cardiff's hands.

That picture I posted was from today's game and like you say is getting worse every week however they do have the benefit of playing on it every other week and I'm sure their more used to it than the opposition.

I put their poor form down to their luck running out. lol

I know what you mean, but they're obviously not the kind of team who will pass you to death, or play beautiful quick attacking football, they're just solid and they take their chances. Winning ugly can be based on luck, but the way Cardiff do it is a skill. A very tedious and depressing skill.

They were fortunate against us in the first half, but they killed us off in the second half. In most of the games I've seen of them yes they've been drab, but they've not been crap, they've been good at what they do, and they've just stuck to it.

Again, what you say is the normal logical inference, and again I say that Cardiff this season have somehow shat all over logic.

It's a sign of champions the ability to grind out wins when you play crap - ultimately you have to ask what is more important - 3 points and shit performance or 0 points and playing the best football ever?

I'm sure all they (and us - we've played below-par but got 3 points on many occasions this season - would welcome 3 points in any match. The performance in getting those 3 points is just a welcome bonus.

I wouldn't say many occasions, we have played great the majority of the time...

Fair enough, and I'm sure their fans are delighted with their form. I also think it's fair enough to say they're close to the least decent squad to win the league (presuming they don't balls it up which looks unlikely) and will have a massive reality check in next season's relegation struggle. If we hold on to 2nd or win the playoffs I can see us fairing better than them as they won't get the same let-offs that they keep getting in this league.

Addendum: Whereas we're where we are despite getting very few let-offs and a lot of let-downs.

I must admit it will be hard to get 1st place but I am not fussed as long as we finish 2nd that is the main thing and we are looking likely to do that with our considerable goal difference.

Crazy game!

First goal in the first 10 minutes Lita got on the end of a cross and I think he kicked the ball against his face and into the net..

Brighton's player then gets sent off near their corner flag ish. Pugh swings the ball into the box and it goes through everyone and into the back of the net.

Then for the 3rd goal from a corner, Keeper flapped at it, Antonio scuffed it and it trickled over the line.

Brighton played well, passed it about well. Moan at every decision though but then go to make a few dirty challenges.

Dave Jones and one of Brighton's backroom staff got sent off as well.. All kicked off but couldn't see what happened.

In fairness to Lamby, there was apparently a pretty clear handball by Palace in the box.

And another one on top of it when Fuller got pushed over

Haven't seen it so he might be right, but his reaction was as predicted earlier :D

lol I know! Sure as night follows day, Lamby will always moan about penalties.

In fact, the only surprise this week is that they were only denied 1 or 2 penalties, not the normal 7 or 8.
