Jimothy Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 Seems to be the way nowadays. Think clubs think they'll flog more away kits if they play in them often enough. Been a weekend of ridiculous away kits. Why did Spurs need to wear theirs yesterday? I think the England rugby team chose to play in purple too. Bizarre. Yeah I did the Spurs one was weird, they usually wear white against Arsenal at Arsenal. They showed highlights of the last few derbies before the game and they were in white in every single one of them. Personally think a team should wear their home shirt wherever possible.
BHAFC Braders Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 2-1 Happy Days , felt like forever since we won on the road AND a decent performance to boot (helped by a soft opening goal , but we repaid that with an equally soft one for them) back in the pack.
Corky Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 I did like Holloway's comments about "being lucky with wide men recently". I assume he meant Zaha and Ince, not Laczko and Bori?
Guest ttfn Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 I did like Holloway's comments about "being lucky with wide men recently". I assume he meant Zaha and Ince, not Laczko and Bori? Let's not forget his use of Hayles, Fryatt and Hume on the wings. With hindsight it's a miracle we got as many points as we did that season.
FoxLAD Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 Right, i seen on my sky sports app on the weekend that Derby youngster Will Hughes was linked with a 4 million to either Man City or Barcelona? I know probably utter shite! but still i hope derby don't have a player with that quality in their team!!
Soar Fox Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 Charlton sign Emanuel Frimpong on loan. Thoughts Lamby??
Jimothy Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20392765 Comments from Ian Evatt about Ian Holloway's training methods in the final weeks of his time in charge at Blackpool. Seems like he'd given up weeks ago as the team were given up to 5 days off training.

Seems like he'd given up weeks ago as the team were given up to 5 days off training. "For whatever reason, the old manager didn't really work on defensive stuff. It was all attacking work." Why does that not surprise me? I always thought they would have stayed up if they'd had any intention of improving their defending, but they never did. They were above average going forward, but defensively a disaster, the opposite of how it was with us of course. He's done a good job with them but it is baffling when you can see what an idiot he is.

According to a Derby supporting mate he is the best player they have had for years but he admits he doubts he will be there in January.
Fox92 Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 Holloway likes to attack though, which I can't argue with, so the game (and especially his defence) is always going to be open, which is why the Blackpool fans have seen some fantastic high-scoring games in recent years.

Nothing wrong with attacking, it's not so much being open but the basic errors and lack of organisation week after week.

Leicesterpool Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 Palace look unstoppable since Holloway arrived
Jimothy Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 Palace look unstoppable since Holloway arrived They were unstoppable before he arrived, Unbeaten in 14 I think now.
z-layrex Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 Palace look unstoppable since Holloway arrived Holloway hasn't done a thing.

Just showing great potential rather than him being really good now.
Carl the Llama Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 Palace look unstoppable since Holloway arrived What changes has he made? He walked into a ready-made team on the league's longest unbeaten run this season and with the best player in the Ch'ship to boot. The only way he can impress me is if he manages to cock this one up.

kingfox Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 Palace look unstoppable since Holloway arrived We should of kept Holloway, I believe we would of got to the Premier League if we kept him.
Simmo86 Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 We should of kept Holloway, I believe we would of got to the Premier League if we kept him.
Bugg Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 We should of kept Holloway, I believe we would of got to the Premier League if we kept him. No we wouldn't, Holloway had a lot of learning to do after his tenure with us. If we hadn't have sacked him and he hadn't have taken his year long break from coaching, he would have been the same negative football playing, journeyman signing manager that got us relegated.

Bugg Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 Haha You can never tell on here these days who is on a wind up or who is clinically insane!
kingfox Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 Banter fail Not allowed to use that word anymore me. Can't help it if I liked Holloway, look how well he has done since us, he is a quality manager and if we didn't have Pearson I would happily give Holloway a second shot.
