chrishlcfc Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20394422 Good news for us for saturdays game. I rate barkley pretty highly.
Father Ted Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/20394422 Good news for us for saturdays game. I rate barkley pretty highly. I've heard Barkley has been probably their best player this season. Major boost for us.
Soar Fox Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 Didn't Holloway come out and say what happened at leicester made him a better manager?
RedHux Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 Let's not forget his use of Hayles, Fryatt and Hume on the wings. With hindsight it's a miracle we got as many points as we did that season. That's nowt. We used to play Grant Holt on the wing. Now that's tactical genius in action.
Carl the Llama Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/20394422 Good news for us for saturdays game. I rate barkley pretty highly. The big, black guy with the catchy choons? I'm a fan.
z-layrex Posted 20 November 2012 Posted 20 November 2012 Didn't Holloway come out and say what happened at leicester made him a better manager? We all learn from mistakes and shitty situations throughout our careers, football management wont be any different.
Lamby Posted 20 November 2012 Posted 20 November 2012 Charlton sign Emanuel Frimpong on loan. Thoughts Lamby?? I'll reserve any comment until I see him play
Soar Fox Posted 20 November 2012 Posted 20 November 2012 We all learn from mistakes and shitty situations throughout our careers, football management wont be any different. Yeah I agree. I was saying it more towards Kingfox who was saying he's a good manager. I'm not saying he isn't a good manager, but he's probably only got better due to his time at Leicester and what happened.
Mark_w Posted 20 November 2012 Posted 20 November 2012 I'll reserve any comment until I see him play You could teach kingfox a thing or two.
Lamby Posted 20 November 2012 Posted 20 November 2012 Almost sold out Millsmall so got given an extra 600 tickets
kingfox Posted 20 November 2012 Posted 20 November 2012 Yeah I agree. I was saying it more towards Kingfox who was saying he's a good manager. I'm not saying he isn't a good manager, but he's probably only got better due to his time at Leicester and what happened. Holloway is a good manager, has had great success with a number of clubs, especially Blackpool when they were destined to struggle the season they got promoted, and last season he brought in the likes of Tom Ince on a free, Matty Phillips, couple of loan signings like Shelvey, Wilson and McManaman. Now I wouldn't be surprised if he got Palace promoted this season. You could teach kingfox a thing or two. More like I could teach Lamby a thing or two, about getting banned five times not just once.
Happy Fox Posted 20 November 2012 Posted 20 November 2012 James Chester to Aston Villa? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/aston-villa/9689771/Aston-Villa-manager-Paul-Lambert-assured-he-will-have-funds-in-January-as-he-targets-Hulls-James-Chester.html
C-man Posted 20 November 2012 Posted 20 November 2012 Almost sold out Millsmall so got given an extra 600 tickets Wow, what a big club you are!
AKCJ Posted 20 November 2012 Posted 20 November 2012 James Chester to Aston Villa? http://www.telegraph...es-Chester.html Why would he leave a club in the championship to a club destined for the championship?
Jaspa Posted 20 November 2012 Posted 20 November 2012 Why would he leave a club in the championship to a club destined for the championship? Cos there a team with a decent setup prepairing for the future, like how Bolton bought Sordell Villa are a much better club than Hull

We were a shambles the season we got relegated. It probably turned out to be a blessing in disguise getting relegated.

Soar Fox Posted 20 November 2012 Posted 20 November 2012 So it wasn't?? Would you have been happy with another couple of years of constantly changing manager, a revolving door of shit loan signings, mid to lower table finishes. Least getting relegated it gave us a chance to re-build, got rid of a load of shit, bought in young hungrier players and it was the first time in years we had stability.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 20 November 2012 Posted 20 November 2012 Was a blessing in disguise. But we should not have gone down. Good enough set of players to stay up but Holloway was dreadful and this seems so easily forgotten. This 'we were on our way down' and turmoil before he arrived is bollocks. Went down because he was clueless. Us and him are better off for it though.

Least getting relegated it gave us a chance to re-build, got rid of a load of shit, bought in young hungrier players and it was the first time in years we had stability. Yeh cos we haven't had that in the years since Even the loan signings thing still happened somewhat. We got lucky and picked a good manager. We could easily have picked another shit one and continued the revolving door in league one. So relegation didn't do us any favours at all, appointing the right manager did. Had we stayed up and never gone down we'd either be in the same division as we are now, or we'd have got our manager choice right in this division. Its been 4 years so there was plenty of time for us to sack Holloway and appoint someone who could have turned us around by now - we may well have already been promoted. Had we gone straight up in 09/10 you may have a point, but that momentum was lost when we appointed Sousa so any possible positive we had from going down was no longer relevant. Of course it's all speculation but how you can say with any confidence it's benefitted us, considering we've just had 2 average seasons where we barely threatened to be promoted, I just don't know. People keep saying it but there's actually no evidence to suggest we wouldn't be better off had we stayed up. All I know is we lost our proud record of having only played in the top 2 divisions, and that for me, is the opposite of a blessing, it's a stain on our proud history. That, in truth, is the only actual result of our relegation.
Benji Posted 21 November 2012 Posted 21 November 2012 Leeds' takeover has completed - subject to football league approval.

We went down with 53 points and a +1 goal difference, i know the table doesn't lie, but that is pretty harsh! one more point somewhere would've kept us up, although we'd have probably been down the year after with the side we had. I rate holloway as a gaffer though, just think he wasn't ready for the step up with us at the time. the way he made a massive issue in the media about us not winning 2 in a row when he was here though was pretty dreadful and certainly can't have helped.
EcclesallOwl Posted 22 November 2012 Posted 22 November 2012 Jeremy Helan & Mamady Sidibe signed for us on loan Bet you're all scared now..
