HEGGSY Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 I think Demba Ba will leave Newcastle this January, my guess he'll either go to Villa or Liverpool. Villa
Corky Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 I think Demba Ba will leave Newcastle this January, my guess he'll either go to Villa or Liverpool. But you could pay a lot of money for him. That's not fair on other clubs, similar to how Chelsea operate.
Leicesterpool Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Villa why not bigger club http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSmkGjQt0P0
StanSP Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Ah Paul Merson. That divine source of well-informed, sobering opinion...
Leicesterpool Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Can believe Jeff Stelling said that "You have to win trophies to become a big club" :xmasohmy: well der of course you do!
Finnegan Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 why not bigger club http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSmkGjQt0P0 Literally everyone else laughs at him.
Fox92 Posted 29 December 2012 Posted 29 December 2012 Can remember seeing that live. It's a fine line, but I wouldn't go out and say Villa are bigger than Newcastle.
Jimothy Posted 29 December 2012 Posted 29 December 2012 Huddersfield won 3 titles in a row in the 30's does that make them a big club? Will Demba Ba be signing for Forest in the January transfer window, after all they've won a European Cup? At the end of the day Ba will leave Newcastle for a truly big club that's either in the fringes of success like Arsenal or Spurs, or he'll join a club like Liverpool who have some real top players mixed with average players. Villa right now are a young team mixed with very very poor experienced players, they are relegation fodder. Regardless of what they've won in the past. regardless of how many fans they have, they are a long long way from tempting a player like Demba Ba from a team like Newcastle. Personally I can see Ba either staying at Newcastle in January or joining Arsenal.

Though Newcastle aren't bigger than Villa either, i mean have Villa ever been relegated ever since the premier league started?
Fox92 Posted 29 December 2012 Posted 29 December 2012 Though Newcastle aren't bigger than Villa either, i mean have Villa ever been relegated ever since the premier league started? No, but don't worry, they will be this year.
Leicesterpool Posted 29 December 2012 Posted 29 December 2012 No, but don't worry, they will be this year. It depends on the transfer window, who Lambert brings in. Two of the clubs involved the relegation battle this season is QPR and Villa who both have got the funds to bring in decent players, Southampton, Reading & Wigan just don't have funds. Also look at the table Newcastle aren't safe either!
Fox92 Posted 29 December 2012 Posted 29 December 2012 Oh dear Sunderland ! Thought that was another own goal. Don't think it was after studying the replay though. Camera just gone to Martin and he looks lost/uninspired. It depends on the transfer window, who Lambert brings in. I expect QPR will strengthen. Harry isn't a mug and knows how to bring in players, especially on the cheap. Reading and Southampton are still favourites for me, but I don't want Wigan to go down. They are usually better away from home anyway and I do think they will beat Villa today.
Jimothy Posted 29 December 2012 Posted 29 December 2012 Though Newcastle aren't bigger than Villa either, i mean have Villa ever been relegated ever since the premier league started? Doesn't matter. Villa right now are ****ing shit. They are full of kids and average older players. There is not one Villa player right now that would get into the Newcastle team. So if you're Demba Ba do you look at your options and think I can play along side Cabaye, Cisse, Ben Arfa, Coloccini, Tiote. or I can join Villa and play with Ireland, Lowton and Bennett? He'd be an idiot to choose Villa based on the fact they won the European Cup 30 years ago and haven't been relegated for a while. Right now Villa's team is crap and Newcastle's is decent. Unless Lambert goes on a massive spending spree where he would have to sign 8 or nine player including a while new back line, I can't see players like Ba being tempted.

Another thing to mention is money. alot of footballers join certain clubs for the money!
Jimothy Posted 29 December 2012 Posted 29 December 2012 Another thing to mention is money. alot of footballers join certain clubs for the money! Newcastle are ok for money with the new sponsor and Ashley has backed Pardew pretty well. By your own admission Lerner doesn't give much of a **** about Villa any more and the reason you have a team full of kids is because he's less ready to put his hand in his pocket. So I doubt they'll able to offer Ba a better deal.

Probably right about Lerner, but I remember a couple years ago when Darren Bent came a huge surprise! still can't believe they paid £24million for him! Same situation as then, relegation bound!
Leicesterpool Posted 29 December 2012 Posted 29 December 2012 Tell you what Villas boas is doing an amazing job at Spurs! beautiful football being played there
Jimothy Posted 29 December 2012 Posted 29 December 2012 Probably right about Lerner, but I remember a couple years ago when Darren Bent came a huge surprise! still can't believe they paid £24million for him! Yeah that was a couple of years ago though. Most he's spent since then I think is about £9.5m on N'Zogbia and that was hardly money well spent. Plus Ba joined Newcastle on a free which usually means teams are prepared to spend a bit more on wages, due to the lack of transfer fee. Can only really see the real big boys matching or beating his wage, and Villa are not one the real big boys. Like I say Arsenal or Newcastle by the end of a January with a slight chance he'll go Liverpool.
Fox92 Posted 29 December 2012 Posted 29 December 2012 Bale booked yet again for diving. Good player but he goes down so easy.
ScouseFox Posted 29 December 2012 Posted 29 December 2012 Mental that he still hits the deck when there's such a slight touch. He'd beat his man there, was in a very good position to score and just collapsed.
BoneDog Posted 29 December 2012 Posted 29 December 2012 Had to laugh at Defoe's miss earlier. Absolutely no need to take a touch first.
