8-0 up and still no atmosphere.

Astonishing.

We all know tight games are bound to have more atmosphere, but I agree that it was particularly quiet. The only noise was clapping the goals!

Felt sorry for some of the Villa players. Lambert has to take more responsibility and protect his young players. Continuing with that gung-ho strategy when you're 3-0 down is lunacy when Chelsea's front 4 were 'cheating' and not tracking back.

Shame this didn't happen last week though. Would have had a field day at work in Birmingham.

Villa get punished for playing football the proper way by bringing youth players, why Chelsea cheat by buying the best of europe!

I like seeing youth players come through, but I wouldn't say it's 'cheating'. I suppose, when they have the money that's what you go for... The result shows how far the likes of Chelsea are away from clubs like Villa, who looked so poor. Wouldn't mind a trip to Villa Park if we were to stay down, can't see them staying up with a big investment in players.

Just proves you need money to survive in the premier league now!

Didn't Villa spend a shit load of money when Randy Lerner took over? Don't be so bitter when your "team" were doing it a few seasons ago.

Lerner came in splashed the cash, then decided two years later to give up hope of top four and sell our best players, also he hardly shows his face to support the manager either.

Yet Villa can afford to leave 24 million pound Darren Bent out of the squad.

I don't know what Brad Guzan did in a past life to deserve that kind of karma. He was probably Villa's best player, yet he picked the ball out of his net eight times lol

I've just got in to hear the result. My 1st thought was maybe villa forgot to park the bus.

Then i thought maybe they are still sat on it.

Soembody told them we don't have a winter break.

I see Fergie is reacting in a OTT manner again...pure frustration or does he have a point?

I thought Williams maybe was just trying to wacked the ball away rather than cause any harm

Seriously considering a email complaint to Sky asking them never to use Ray Wilkins as a pundit again. It's my money they pay him after all and I've just sat there and listened to half an hour of bullshit and Manchester United arselicking. No shock he agrees with Fergie over the Williams-RVP ballgate affair and then he starts wittering on about Barry fouling Shorey.

You weren't complaining when the useless Birmingham reject won 3-1 at the Bridge last year were you?

At the time I thought Williams was just trying to clear the ball but on closer inspection it was deliberate, although I actually find the whole thing funnier the more I watch it.

And Fergie's reaction is just priceless lol lol lol

It is hilarious from Fergie. Annoys me the likes of Wilkins bow down to his every word though. And Man Utd fans on Facebook are backing him up too. Had Wenger said those things he'd have been laughed out of the stadium.

Also totally hypocritical of Fergie. He claimed there was nothing in an incident last year when Rooney deliberately elbowed James McCarthy in the back of the head in a game against Wigan. For me that's much worse than what Ashley Williams did today.

Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie has been rushed to a hair salon for emergency treatment after suffering what experts have described as ‘severe ruffling’.

Players and supporters looked on in shock as Van Persie’s hair was left looking limp and lifeless after being hit by a ball struck by Swansea defender Ashley Williams.

Fortunately a hairdresser, who was amongst the crowd, was allowed on to the pitch to apply some emergency jojoba and recommend a diet consisting of nuts and essential omega-3 fatty acids.

Both sets of supporters were united in their support for Van Persie’s hair as it received treatment.

“It’s at times like this that you realise how unimportant football can be,” revealed Swansea fan Huw Watson.

“Results pale into insignificance when there’s twenty thousand people praying for a footballer’s hair to show some signs of life.”

Van Persie injured

Speaking in his post-match interview, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson lambasted Swansea defender Ashley Williams, and called for the player to be punished with a lengthy ban.

“Their player has shown a total disregard for hair care,” he insisted.

“If there hadn’t been a hairdresser in the stadium then we could have been talking about something much more serious.”

“We can only hope that Robin’s hair will respond positively to pentapeptides.”

“I would urge clubs to ensure that their physios carry Triple Resist shampoo enriched in Arginine and protein as part of their kit, so that future tragedies can be averted.”

I think it's pretty obvious why he's said it, to divert attention away from the lacklustre United performance

I don't like watching it. The killing him comment was slightly too far, but it could have hurt him, his neck shot forward then back. Every time I see a replay though, it looks like Williams meant to do it.
