Referee has had a mare in the West Ham Everton game. Disallowed a Osman header from corner for, well I have no idea. Send Carlton Cole for a totally accidental collision with a high foot on Baines. Sends Gibson off for a high foot too when it looked very little contact. But didn't send Anichebe off for doing exactly the same thing on Collins.

Newcastle should sell Cisse and do everything they can to keep Ba. There's no need for the way he reacted to Pardew after being subbed. Cisse and Ba don't work well together and Ba is a better football, a more all round striker. No point in having them both because it will never work. Ameobi and Ba are a better partnership.

I'm not sure what people are complainging about with those red cards. If you tackle slightly above the ball on someone's shin it's a red card, yet if you go in studs first on someone's upper body you don't?

That makes no sense, it's got nothing to do with intent, it's about tackling recklessly. Are people going to tell me De Jong was right to get away with it in the world cup final as well? If your foot's up that high and you nail someone, it's got to be a red card. If that's not reckless and dangerous play, what is?

And McSlaphead can shut his gob as well, no way was that Barry goal a foul. it's not the first time he's tried to make out he'd hard done to when he's talking shit.

De Jong wasn't going for the ball though was he, he just kung fooed someone in the chest. Carlton Cole especially was just stretching for the ball, didn't even know Baines was there. He had his eye on the ball the whole time. It was just an unfortunate coming together, and worth no more than a yellow. De Jong went straight at the opponent, Baines came in from the side of Cole.Completely different challenges, one is dangerous and reckless the other is unfortunate. If Cole can't go for that ball for fear of an unsighted opponent coming in and being caught we might as well just pack the game in, because it's becoming no contact, it's pathetic. Baines knew he was putting himself in there and was likely to get caught, but he's committed and brave and was prepared to take it. And if you really think they are red cards look at Matt Taylor's reaction the Darron Gibson being sent off. A professional who has played the game at the top level for nearly a decade went to the referee to try and stop him sending an opponent off, I think he knows the game better than you.

Also one more thing, if those two really are red cards in the crazy useless refereeing eyes of Anthony Taylor, where was Anichebe's red card for the kicking James Collins in the face in the first half whilst attempting an overhead kick. Under you're criteria for a red it's no different to the others, but he didn't even get booked. If referees are going to be shit they could at least be consistently shit.

By that logic everytime a player attempts an overhead kick they should be sent off for dangerous play.

Not really, an overhead kick is a shot, not someone flying in to a 50/50 with studs first.

In that case why is it a yellow? A coming together isn't a foul.

It isn't a coming together though, it's a reckless tackle because he's gone for the ball without considering the fashion in which he's going in for it, it's reckless. If your foot is up that high when the ball is there to be won by two or more players and you make contact with the player of course it's dangerous.

I don't see an awful lot of difference between the De Jong tackles and those two yesterday, the contact was more severe yes, maybe he meant to do it but you can't know that without going into his head, the ball was still in the vicinity. The tackles were all at a similar height and the outcomes were very similar for the player on the recieving end.

And what do you mean Matt Taylor knows the game better than me? lol What's that got to do with anything? If I think the way somebody goes for the ball is dangerous I don't give a shit how many Premier League games they've played. By that logic everything those dumbass pundits on TV say is right.

How on earth Patrice Evra still plays for United is beyond me. I know Sir Alex probably knows his shit but seriously, he's a liability. Ever time United concede it's almost definitely got something to do with the fact Evra is woefully positioned. What the hell was he doing for Michu's goal there? Worse than schoolboy stuff.

Well literally all those dumbass pundits disagree with you, they can't all be wrong. The reason I bring up Taylor is for the reason I stated, he plays the game week in week out, at the top level in this country. In a day and age where players are prepared to try and get opponents sent off for farting within ten yards of them, the fact he stood up for Gibson speak volumes to how much it wasn't a red card.

The reason Cole's is a yellow is for the reason you stated, it's a bit careless and he risks injuring someone, but as it's a genuine attempt to get the ball and he doesn't know Baines is there it can't be deemed a red. It's a yellow to pretty much say "Watch what you're doing next time" As I have said Baines comes in from an unsighted positions, Cole is watching the ball the whole time. The difference with the de Jong tackle is the he knows Alonso is there and just puts his foot up. He's not even close to getting the ball, Cole is inches away.

If you think that is the same as what Carlton Cole did then you might as well not bother replying because you clearly know the sum of **** all. The ball is a good foot away from de Jong and Alonso is directly in front of him. He's well aware Alonso is there, and although I can't say he meant to do Alonso, he's certainly making no attempt at the ball

Fergie saying RVP could have been killed from Williams kicking the ball into his head! :crylaugh:

He really is the king of the overreaction!
