Guest BlueBrett Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Anyone else think players take the whole not celebrating against old clubs thing a bit too far? I can completely understand it when it's a club legend who has moved on after years of service but when it is somebody who has just made a handful of appearances several years ago and has been at a number of other clubs since it seems a bit stupid.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Looked a goal before he'd even hit it! great strike
Benji Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 What a player to have on the edge of the box every week.

I suppose its more personal to them
AKCJ Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Take a bow Gerrard. Only he could play so shit and then do that.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Liverpool have completely dominated this match really
Guest shearfox Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 What an error, but an absolutely stunning finish.
Soar Fox Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Is it me or is Reina looking a liability these days.
BoneDog Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Gerrard sure knows how to strike a ball. Loved his strike that hit the woodwork against Oldham.
AKCJ Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Sorry but that's a better goal than Gerrard's. From that angle and falling over, sensational technique.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Sorry but that's a better goal than Gerrard's.From that angle and falling over, sensational technique. Bit lucky maybe? He didn't even look up. I know you can say 'he knows where the goal is blah blah' but I still think it was a bit fortunate. Class but lucky.

Guest BlueBrett Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 BUt Gerrard set himself, looked and put the ball exactly where he wanted it. There's no way Aguero could have placed it exactly there without looking. More like he just knew the general area he wanted and was fortunate his shot in the dark landed

He knew where he had to put it and he did it.
sdb Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Is it me or is Reina looking a liability these days. HAS DONE FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS I think (sorry)
Fox92 Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Great game. Liverpool actually look decent up top now with two good strikers. If they sort out their wingers and part of their defence, then sorted. Personally think Aguero was crossing the ball, as it seems he didn't look. Both Liverpool goal's were good though, always love seeing Gerrard strike a ball.
SystonFox Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 What's wrong with liverpools wingers? Downing is playing well imo but the nightmare season of last still hangs over him. Sterling isn't bad but has no end product. Henderson is ever improving. I genuinely believe they could challenge top four again with the team they are acquiring.
Super_horns Posted 3 February 2013 Posted 3 February 2013 Great game. Helped by everyone just getting on with things including the ref who let a few tackles go with the advantage.
Uncle Albert Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Today was a day to see the progression of Liverpool under Brendan Rodgers for me personally, in the same fixture last season we (yes I am a Liverpool fan, if you didn't already know) got a hammering off City at Eastlands 3-0 and got played off the park, I know they didn't have Kompany and Toure today and maybe they would of made a difference but I thought we were fantastic. We pressed the ball well, we defended the most part well, passing was good and we looked to attack City at any possible chance. Daniel Sturridge was fantastic at holding the ball up and linking with Suarez and the ever improving Henderson. Downing has had a kick up the arse! I'm saying nothing on Steven Gerrard apart from him and his goal were World Class. People say players like Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Paul Scholes are past it, these people are the people who don't know much about Football and it comes back and bites them on the arse.

THey're still 100% right though. They're still good, but way below the levels in their prime, especially Gerrard.
