ScouseFox Posted 11 February 2013 Posted 11 February 2013 I'm also not having it that I've got mates older than Lukaku. The bloke is 19. He's not even a bloke. He's a kid. Jesus.
Corky Posted 11 February 2013 Posted 11 February 2013 Proper smash and grab from the Baggies tonight.
kingfox Posted 11 February 2013 Posted 11 February 2013 Put Lukaku in my Sky Fantasy Team a few months back, my best bit of business quality little cheap signing. Liverpool are so crap and hilarious, Foster played a blinder. Go on WBA!!!
AjcW Posted 11 February 2013 Posted 11 February 2013 Bet Chelsea are kicking themselves. Fair enough letting him out on loan in the summer but they had a recall option in January!! As for Liverpool. When downing is the best player on the night you may as well give up.....
MC Prussian Posted 11 February 2013 Posted 11 February 2013 And Liverpool still fail to win against the top 10 in the table... Such a lousy record, nothing short of mediocre. And I had such high hopes for Suarez to go on a scoring spree today. Liverpool FC. England laughs at you (and some parts of the world, too).
Kitchandro Posted 11 February 2013 Posted 11 February 2013 I knew John wouldn't let me down with yet another laughable penalty decision.
Fox92 Posted 12 February 2013 Posted 12 February 2013 Got to give Albion credit. Generally hammered for most of the game and come up with two good goals. Some of the players at Liverpool are not good enough imo - Agger, Downing, Borini etc. they might not be bad players, but they don't seem good enough for a club that's supposed to be challenging for Europe.
foxfanazer Posted 12 February 2013 Posted 12 February 2013 Why don't they play Skrtel? I know he makes a mistake every now and then but he's easily there best defender

I think West Brom will be pleased enough with their performance. Fair enough Liverpool managed 19 shots but the fact that less than a third of these were on target shows that they weren't exactly creating gilt edged chances. I've liked him for a while but I have to say I thought Mulumbu was excellent. If we do get promoted we should be looking at signing somebody similar. He was like a Makelele with pace last night! I know Agger got made to look a mug for the goal but generally I think he is more than adequate. A lot better in the air than on the ground but he captains his country so he is obviously the kind of guy you want around the place. Downing was pretty much their best player last night. Gerrard was poor even without the penalty miss, Johnson equally so and I thought Suarez looked dreadful. His movement was clueless and he seemed to spend most of the night running far too early into offside positions. You'll get no arguments from me on Borini though. I wouldn't even want him warming the bench here at Leicester.
Leicester Piggott Posted 12 February 2013 Posted 12 February 2013 Mulumbu has been excellent at times this season. Very very good player. Why don't they play Skrtel? I know he makes a mistake every now and then but he's easily there best defender Been a bit rubbishy since big new contract. Also can't get his head around the passing game Rodgers wants them to play. I'm sure he'll be back at some point.
ScouseFox Posted 12 February 2013 Posted 12 February 2013 It was absolutely mental how much Liverpool missed Sturridge last night.
Uncle Albert Posted 12 February 2013 Posted 12 February 2013 Gerrard never looked like he was going to score that Penalty. Too many players under performed like Johnson, Enrique, Agger and Suarez last night. 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
Fox92 Posted 12 February 2013 Posted 12 February 2013 I always felt that Stevie was going to miss the penalty as well. He has never been the best penalty taker (which he has admitted before) and he just didn't look confident yesterday.
C-man Posted 12 February 2013 Posted 12 February 2013 Anyone else see Adrian Durham's column on introducing play-offs to determine the PL champion? Deary me. Stooping to a new low in his quest for more listeners.
FoxyPV Posted 13 February 2013 Posted 13 February 2013 Queens Park Rangers were "out of their minds" to break the bank to sign the defender Christopher Samba from Anzhi Makhachkala – according to the Russian club's own director. The Congo centre-half was recruited into Rangers' campaign for Premier League survival after they triggered a release clause to push through a £12.5m transfer, with a contract which is reported to be worth around £100,000-a-week. QPR's manager, Harry Redknapp, described Samba as a "monster" and is in no doubt it will be money well spent should the west London club avoid relegation, although his side remain seven points adrift of safety following a 4-1 defeat at Swansea. The Anzhi director German Tkachenko, however, revealed that no one there could quite believe what QPR were willing to pay to get their man. Speaking to the Russian news site www.sports.ru, Tkachenko said: "At QPR he will earn almost as much as he did at Anzhi. In my view QPR have lost their minds. "When they agreed to pay his release fee we wept. He [samba] wept. Everybody says that he ran away from the club, but that's not true. He didn't put any pressure on the club until we received an offer from QPR for £12.5m, the amount required by his contract." Tkachenko revealed that the former Blackburn Rovers defender Samba was keen to return to western Europe for family reasons. "It was linked to the threat that he would lose contact with his children," Tkachenko added. "That was a big blow. He was a guy who loved all of us. And besides, he is a very good defender. I think he is one of the top five defenders currently playing in Europe." Samba's contract with QPR has sparked much discussion of how it will burden the club financially if they do not survive, although Redknapp has maintained that "there will be takers for Samba all day". Anzhi would certainly be keen on a return move. Tkachenko said: "If we are successful and playing in the Champions League, I dream that Samba will become an Anzhi player again."

Uncle Albert Posted 13 February 2013 Posted 13 February 2013 I've always said that the Top 3 should qualify for the Champions League through League position and the 4th spot I believe should go to the FA Cup winners, this giving the FA Cup the extra insentive to go and win.. If Arsenal make the Champions League Semi-Finals, a big if I know then they aren't going to take the FA Cup seriously are they because they are more focused on the Champions League and securing 4th spot. They will totally disregard the FA Cup, arguably the most prestigious domestic trophy in the World. Wenger moans about the fixture pile up at any possible opportunity. Give them a reason to take the FA Cup seriously, teams like Liverpool, Newcastle, Sunderland, Norwich, Stoke etc will all take the lesser clubs seriously and play the strong 11's because in a one off game in the Final anything can happen.

Speaking of this, had anyone read FourFourTwo this month? They did an excellent feature on what Champions League would look like if only league winners were allowed in. I used to think that only league champions should be allowed in Champions League but now I can it is not feasible. Teams getting in Europe should be achieved on merits not by the virtue of finishing third. I think all teams who win domestic honours should be allowed in.
21st Century Fox Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 I've now seen three separate interviews with Lewis Holtby since he joined Tottenham in which the interviewer asks him whether he "feels more English or German". He had to give the same diplomatic answer to appease them in each. Give it a ****ing rest!!!
ScouseFox Posted 17 February 2013 Posted 17 February 2013 Dunno if anyone's watched it but Liverpool have been shit hot today, and Swansea haven't even tried to make it look like they cared. One of the most one sided games I've ever watched.
Fox92 Posted 17 February 2013 Posted 17 February 2013 Just seen their result. 5-0, with 33 shots. Wow.
BoneDog Posted 17 February 2013 Posted 17 February 2013 Anyone else see Adrian Durham's column on introducing play-offs to determine the PL champion? Deary me. Stooping to a new low in his quest for more listeners. That's an awful idea. Hope it never becomes a reality. Wouldn't be surprised if the idea starts to get pushed though. It'd add a few money spinning ties for tv and the big money men at the end of each season.
