21st Century Fox Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 Am I the only one that thinks removing all the controversy from the game will make it a lot more boring? I'd agree with that but when you've got matches that can have potentially £90m riding on them, leaving decisions to human error doesn't seem practical.
whoareyaaa Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 Am I the only one that thinks removing all the controversy from the game will make it a lot more boring? Brining in GLT shouldn't mean they have to re-think every other aspect of the game as like you say it would become boring.
James. Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 Am I the only one that thinks removing all the controversy from the game will make it a lot more boring? GLT won't remove all the controversy from the game, it'll just remove the goal line controversy. You'll still have offside controversy, hand ball controversy, yellow and red card controversy, etc. That said some might argue GLT will be the first step on a slippery slope towards using technology for all decisions, which would be a bit shit. Anyway I don't really care what Blatter says, by far the best thing in this thread is that video of him falling off a stage. I love it when people fall over.
Daggers Posted 20 June 2012 Author Posted 20 June 2012 It's amazing how such a high position can be occupied by someone who is not only so biased, but someone who is so poor at covering it up. Hope he dies ASAP. Harsh. It's only a game.
MooseBreath Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 Am I the only one that thinks removing all the controversy from the game will make it a lot more boring? There is some entertainment value in comedy decisions, but not enough to justify proactively seeking them, which is what ignoring technology is increasingly becoming. I'd rather have a 100% fair game tbh. If you don't find football entertaining without controversy then maybe try something else. Ice hockey?
AyewJoking Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 We could always ask the players to be honest? Cant speak for all cases but I'm sure Terry believed he had cleared the ball on the line. Thr ref couldnt tell and the linesman and GLO didnt make a call. PLAY ON.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 How the GLA didn't see it cross I have no clue.
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 He should be more worried about his inefficent hungarian Linesman who nearly cost us two goals!!
FoxyPV Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 Blatter just loves taking the piss out of the English. It's brilliant.
Finnegan Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 I would love to go on a night out with Sepp Blatter and Silvio Berlusconi.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 Blatter hangs around public parks when he's not being a dickhead at a press conference. He goes around cutting the klinkers (crusty bits of shitty hair on the backside of a long haired dog) which he then puts in a jar. He fills the jar with water and then necks it
Jordan Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 FIFA can add the most sophisticated goal-line technology to major tournaments, but its benefits will be minimal if linesmen blow offside calls, referees lose control of games, etc. Goal-line calls are massive decisions, but many more goals are either allowed or disallowed due to poor decisions made in the 130 yards in between.
I am Rod Hull Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 Blatter hangs around public parks when he's not being a dickhead at a press conference. The Doctor Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 Fucking hero - he's a corrupt old bastard, but he isn't half funny.
ADK Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 I fail to see the funny side, Blatter is leading football down a path of corruption and incompetence that could be very damaging for the sport.
The Doctor Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 I fail to see the funny side, Blatter is leading football down a path of corruption and incompetence that could be very damaging for the sport. It irritates England fans, that's what's funny about it.
Guest Bilo Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 Sepp Blatter; you brilliant, corrupt, senile old willy puller! His slathering Anglophobia has genuinely become quite funny, honestly think England would get a fairer rap with Mel Gibson in charge.

The Doctor Posted 20 June 2012 Posted 20 June 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5G2WLlowDI4 Not Blatter, just cheating Czechs and a shit ref - Still, enough to be a temporary Portugezeer tomorrow night.
