Sepp Blatter - Goal Line Technology

Recommended Posts

Posted

With the technology we would've saw that the first hoof upfield for the break was offside

So the goal shouldn't have stood anyway, even with technology

Blatter is obviously in quite a hard position, but he never helps himself with anything he says or does

Really shouldn't be in charge of worldwide Football

Blatter hangs around public parks when he's not being a dickhead at a press conference. He goes around cutting the klinkers (crusty bits of shitty hair on the backside of a long haired dog) which he then puts in a jar. He fills the jar with water and then necks it

Thank **** you're back. The burden of being the crude one on here is too heavy.

The GLT thing - yeah I agree that it is out of order for Sepp to be raising it after last night and not, say, after Frank Lampard's no-goal aginst the Krauts.

I'm more concerned, however, with the fact that he appears to be president for life of a corrupt and undemocratic body that awarded the World Cup to Qatar. Entirely coincidentally, shortly before this several FIFA officials trousered envelopes full of cash. When the shit hit the fan, who was pursued out of FIFA? The bloke who was mounting a challenge to Blatter for the leadership. Strange that...

And I agree that the vid of him falling down is comedy gold...

I fail to see the funny side, Blatter is leading football down a path of corruption and incompetence that could be very damaging for the sport.

Football is already down that path and sitting at the bottom by the ornamental fountain with £'s and $'s falling all over the path and being blown into the very metal topiary elephant being punched by a madman with bleeding hands.

If GLT is introduced will the video ref ignore any missed decisions in the build up to the incident or do like they do in cricket and check weather if it was a no ball first then make the decision on the incident..??

If we really do need GLT, it can't be video or hawk eye or anything like that, it has to be a buzzer, so no matter what the ref knows immediately. How do you restart play, if it turns out to be no goal and play has moved on before its decided somebody should look at it. All it does is make the game so boring and takes away a lot of fun. You're telling me in the play off final, a team could have to wait 30 seconds to know if its a goal, sort of dilutes the goal and the celebrations would be crap. Yes we all get annoyed at wrong decisions but it's part the game, adds to the fun and once video is used for the goal line, it will soon migrate and it won't be long 'til throw ins are contested.

Oh and Blatter, you're a twat, you just can't have the English do well. Within a month you want to scrap shoot shouts and implement GLT because the English must never benefit

Am I the only one that thinks removing all the controversy from the game will make it a lot more boring?

No you're not. I think that's what creates talking points and so on. It's frustrating when your team is affected but overall the potential for human error makes the game more exciting IMHO.

Spot the difference, reaction after Lampard vs Germany:

Maybe they did honestly think that a man on the goal line would be able to see through the post and John Terry's foot and be able to process what he has seen faster than the speed of light, (watch it again from the GLA's angle at full speed and be 100% certain.

The extra officials don't work, they didn't in the Europa League so why did people expect them to at the Euros, if anything too many opinions can cloud the issue rather than the referee relying on his instinct, ask one man a question you will get a direct answer, ask 3 men at the same time and you will get lots of ums and ahhs and "I'm not sure" waiting for someone else to speak first. It could only be a goal if he was 100% certain, and if he gives it and he is wrong he looks like a prat.

Ultimately though a GLA should have seen Lampards effort, and to introduce them after Lampard's goal does make sense, but what always drives me crazy is when a decision is made and then a replay is shown at the ground to say it was wrong and the ref can't do anything about it, the refs need to be given as much info as they can including a TV official relating back to him what he can see via TV replay's it shouldn't stop games, but all the fussing and fannying around after when the ball goes out of play gives the TV official time to say hang on, I just want to check.

Also adding a little bit of subjectivity to the ref's decision means that they will be wrong less often and come in for less flak.

My worry is that we would end up with endless replays of hand balls and offsides and fouls checking contact.

I think one of the problems is the refs have such strict guidelines that there is no call for common sense, such as handballs, was the hand in an unusual position? was it moving toward the ball? all this crap, give the ref some leeway to say, in my opinion it was deliberate and therefore a foul, or not, in which case play on. same as offside, the point of the offside rule is to stop goal hanging, give the Linesman some input to say he gained an illegal advantage by taking up a position in front of the defenders, rather than all this phases bollox and goal scoring part of the body. Give them some room to use common sense and employ people with common sense. Awarding a goal incorrectly and then allowing the other team to score "a make up" goal. just baffling

Says more about you to be honest. Why does that fat willy puller deserve any respect?

lol

Maybe he doesn't deserve any respect in a professional capacity, but saying you hope he dies is a little ridiculous. Think you'll find most sane people agree with Daggers over this one.

Maybe I'm a little less sensitive when it comes to dictators trying to ruin professions. He doesn't deserve any respect in any capacity.
