Broke my record and spent 34m on a player in 2038, two years later and i've broken it to 37m

Does anybody get a problem where your managing a team you get heavily beaten and lose interest. I'm managing Villa we've started season really well hammered Reading 4-0 at home playing an attacking formation, then play away to Norwich with the same tactics, can't create much as we did in last game and lose 1-2 to them, few days later play Port Vale in the league cup hammer them 3-0, then play QPR at home playing attacking tactics first half, we're really poor it's all QPR then on the stroke of half time Rickie Lambert scores a screamer to take us into the lead going into half time. Second half complete murder them score four more goals and win 5-0!

Then we play away to Chelsea decide to play a slightly a defensive tactic by playing 5 at the back, with just one upfront. So what happens create nothing, Chelsea are all over us 1-0! half time 1-0 down take Arshavin off, done nothing since i signed him. Don't change the formation just wait a little longer, then second half begins straight away 2-0 to chelsea, so straight away I go back to our attacking style football by playing a 4-2-2-2, straight away we get one back. Then after that it goes wrong get battered by them and lose 1-4! I'm soo angry at the moment. Last season my team defended well didn't concede too many but didn't score many. This year it's the opposite!

Does anybody know a good formation where you can control the game?

Don't know one on this game. Had a magic 4-3-3 where I was absolutely dominant with Leicester on 11 but the same thing doesn't produce anything like it on 13.

Literally no formation on 13 has brought me consistently good results. The morale isn't bad (and if it drops I can sort it pretty easily tbh) and according to the stats, the team isn't bad at all either, so I have no idea why I can't work it.

4-3-1-2 did nothing, 4-3-3's doing nothing, 4-4-2 may end up being the answer but somehow I just don't see it.

Managed to cling to premier league survival, finished 16th, fulham, wolves and villa went down, 1-1 vs naaaaaaarich, 3-2 win vs arsenal, 1-0 loss to hull and beat wolves by a single goal to guarantee survival.

Decided over the summer to try and switch to a 4-2-3-1 deep.

in came joe ledley on a free, federico perazzolo, 4 1/2 pot inter regen who can play DC and DR, iago falque for 1.9m, nathan baker from relegated villa for 3.7m, lenny nangis on a season long loan, enzo andia 3.1m, wayne routledge 1.2m and hasan ali kaldirim on a saeson long loan, with a 5m future fee.

out was nugent, danns, morgan, whitbread and waghorn on frees, all wanted ****ing silly money so ****ed em off.

First season in the Prem with LCFC, hardly spent any money and finished 7th. Qualified for EURO Cup.

I don't get all the people saying this game is too hard? The only difference really is that you have to think a bit more and adapt your tactics where necessary.

I had a great time in getting results from big teams. Worked out some great counter tactics in doing so.

Started as Toronto in the MLS in the update and because it's already been in real life you don't get the MLS Superdraft. Boooo.

Currently managing Toronto FC in the MLS to mediocre league performances but managing to win the MLS Cup (or whatever it's bloody called) twice in 2 seasons. We are play off masters!

The only way i manage to get good results on this game is by playing two strikers but when i do about 90% of the goals i score come from that and i hate that.

i love playing a 4231 with my wingers and cam getting more goals than my ST but it just doesnt seem to work for me on FM13 unlike in 11 and 12

Odd as thats the ONLY tactic I play on this. Flat back 4 with a DLP and a BWM, 2 IF's on the wing and an AP in AMC with an AF up top.

I can safely say a 4-2-3-1 is working the best for me although I tend to do better with wingers, rather than inside forwards. For example I used to play Robben on the left when I was Bayern.

Think I'm FINALLY starting to get the hang of it a bit but not holding my breath. 6th after 18 games and a bit more consistent but nowhere near convinced yet. Tried playing a deeper defence and it's worked wonders, think I'd made a mistake trying to play a very slow Morgan in a high-ish defensive line.

Our defensive cover worries me and I need a new centre half. Keane, Moore and Konchesky are all diabolical.

I'm about 15th in the prem, into feb. signed a few squad players in jan and emile Heskey for 60k for giggles. Scored a consolation goal in a 6-3 defeat away at Chelsea on his debut.

Spurs are romping the league and Bale must be top scorer every week he seems to get 3 or 4.

Hope I stay up, its right down from 12th-19th with Hull in 20th on 7 pts!!!

I've turned shit again, really don't like our squad, so many average players who in their defence have the right attributes to play possession football - so why the FVCK do they never ever control a game?

It's so hard to be consistent on this game it's untrue.

Finished 7th. It's not amazing but not too bad for a first full season (albeit the third attempt).

Want a huge clear out this summer and some decent players on sensible money. Agreed to sign Estigarribia, Moi & Milijas, the former being on £2.5k a week absolute robbery.

Very much a long shot but I'd love Lucas Romero, what a class player he is, looks like the next Cambiasso or something.
